The bizarre noises continue to erupt from the roper's mouth for only a few more seconds. After being seared by Douth's eldritch blast and struck by Friar's hammer, the monster falls eerily silent. Its lone tendril whips around aimlessly for a moment, but it eventually falls limply into the water. Moments later, the roper detaches from the cavern ceiling and, just missing Friar and Copper, lands with a massive splash in the murky pool.
“Yes, definitely not what I was expecting, though down here in this crazy cavern I guess we can really expect anything?” Ruby actually takes a look at Copper, “You doing alright? That thing really got a bite of you. Should we take a short rest so you can pull yourself back together?”
Copper, with considerable effort, works his blade through the roper's flesh. As he does so, he's careful to avoid the pungent digestive juices that flow from the creature's innards. Several objects tumble from the roper's gut...
A variety of expensive gemstones--ambers, chrysoberyls, garnets, pearls, tourmalines, and spinels (14 altogether)
60 pieces of platinum
A lone arrow
A necklace with 7 red beads hanging from it
Whether these items indicate a duergar perished in a fight with the roper is impossible to tell.
Ruby’s eyes get huge. She forgets where she is and her mind is overcome with how she is going to get her mitts on all of that loot. She takes a moment to compose herself, and asks ever so sweetly, “What are you going to do with all that stuff Copper? And look, that necklace with the red beads, it basically goes with my name. Mind handing it over so I can see how it looks?”
"Can't help yourself, can you," Copper says. "I suppose we'll never find the owners of these gems and coins. It's really a case of salvage. We can hang on to them all and divide it up when we get out of here."
Then looks down at the entrails covered necklace.
"That looks like something to be careful around," Copper says to Ruby. Then he wipes off the roper innards a little and holds it up for everyone to see. "Any one have any ideas about this?"

Copper pushes the roper with the toe of his boot, and takes a deep breath.
