Copper wipes his dagger clean and then looks at the necklace.
"Don't step on it for sure," Copper says, "but those are stable, aren't they, unless you throw the beads."
He looks over at Ruby as he slips the jewels and coins into his pouch.
"I'll hang on to these for safe keeping."
Copper then stands back up, wincing a little as he still feels the effects of the roper's bite. He focuses for a moment, allowing the combined energy of the clan watch to flow through him.
Lay on Hands (uses up last 7HP in the pool)
He examines the arrow for a moment to see if it's worth keeping.
Investigation - is it unbroken and can be used - 7
Then finally, he retrieves his javelin and turns to the others and asks "this way appears to be a dead end. Back the other way?"

"Yeah, yeah" Ruby stomps her toe in the dirt as Copper puts away all the goodies. And determined not to let her loss of treasure get her down, she tries and put it out of her mind.
"Let's head back where we were, you don't look so good ol' man, why don't we sit a bit and let you take care of your wounds. We'll be sure to keep a lookout"
Perception check on the way back to the entrance of the cavern: 4
The arrow found in the roper's digestive system is completely whole; it seems likely that there's something special about it because the wooden shaft, somehow, survived unharmed.

(short or long rest?)
Friar nods, "Aye, a rest be good, either short or long. Anyone need healing?"
“Nope, I’m good, let’s take our short rest and keep exploring this cave. I wonder what other treasures we’ll find!” Ruby gets excited at the prospect of more loot.
The party rests for an hour or so, thankful for some peace after the encounter with the roper but watchful for any further signs of trouble. The only sound you hear is the gentle, rhythmic dropping of water from the cavern ceiling into the nearby pools.

Rested and strengthened, the four of you continue your careful progress through this massive underground space. The lack of light causes you to walk into more than one dead end, but eventually your path takes you east and south, and, fortunately, you come across nothing of note as you travel. Confident that you have only two options--returning to the location where you entered the cavern or continuing south--you begin quietly to discuss your options. As you do so, the unmistakable sound of footsteps and voices reaches your ears. You are startled but not panicked, for the source of the sounds is rather distant. You are unable to distinguish what sort of creatures are speaking or what language they are using; the voices are too distant. As you listen, you feel certain the creatures--whoever or whatever they are--are headed in your direction.
"Guys, I'll sneak down and to the Easta bit and hide so as whoever walks by, if they are enemies I can flank them from behind" And without another word, she slips into the shadows and head Southeast (about 7 squares S and 2-3 squares E).
Copper stretches after the rest, feeling much better. Knowing the others were resting on his behalf, he nods his thanks to him.
"It's bite was worse than it's bark, that was for sure," Copper says through a smile.
Once they explore a bit and hear the noise, he stops moving lest the clinking of his armor gives them away and nods his agreement for Ruby to slip off.

Friar turns off his light, tries to find a place to conceal himself, readies his War Hammer
The approaching voices fall quiet, but the sound of footsteps grows louder for another fifteen seconds or so before everything goes quiet. Straining your ears in hopes of detecting even the slightest clue, you suddenly hear a loud and distinct clink. A metal object of some sort has struck the floor, wall, or ceiling of the cavern. Moments later you hear someone gruffly utter in Dwarvish, "Up we go! Careful!"
It seems that whoever is approaching you is doing so by climbing...
Updated map (reflecting Ruby's most recent movement):
(Please be specific about direction and distance of character movement. One square = 5 feet. The sound of the clinking metal and the words spoken in Dwarvish are coming from somewhere off the southern end of the map).

Ruby’s plan stays the same but wants to get a little closer. She waves her friends to come along to the area she is in, and she is going to sneak along the wall to the spot that is 6 West and 7 South and hide and wait for the group to climb up to their area and pass her.

Hours spent poring over books of arcana in the Immercleave library enable Douth to recognize the necklace for what it is: a necklace of fireballs.

"Let's head that way, and rest over there," Copper gestures east in the cavern.
(OOC - Copper's vote is to stay down here for now and head due east and take a short rest in the alcove in the southeastern corner of the map).
The arrow found in the roper's digestive system is completely whole; it seems likely that there's something special about it because the wooden shaft, somehow, survived unharmed.
(short or long rest?)
"I'm right behind you, and I can help stand watch as needed."
(Up to the rest, I'm good either way)
Copper shows the arrow to Douth.
"Make anything of this?" he asks. "This wood shouldn't have survived inside of the roper."
(Would say short rest - doesn't seem to be the place to risk a long rest yet).
Friar nods, "Aye, a rest be good, either short or long. Anyone need healing?"
