Copper splashes along the edge of the lake and then strikes Miznak twice with his axe. The duergar curses in pain, but the wounds seem to have altered Miznak's mental state. He lowers his war pick and stares blankly at Riv and Copper. Similarly, after Douth strikes the hooded spellcaster, she too abandons the fight and begins to walk westward out of the cavern, shaking her head as she goes.
And for a third time, the unknown entity in the cavern speaks to the the members of the clan telepathically: Immercleave I shall aid.
The murky surface of the lake is then disturbed as a large aquatic creature breaks the surface near Riv, Copper, and Miznak. It's like nothing any of you have ever seen...fish-like, eel-like, amphibious, and long and covered in slime. In quick succession, three tentacles whip through the air, seeking to demolish Miznak...
Attack: 13 for 13 bludgeoning damage
Attack: 22 for 12 bludgeoning damage
Attack: 20 for 14 bludgeoning damage
... the first tentacle slams into the duergar, nearly knocking him down. Miznak is able to evade the other two attacks.
Douth walks southward to a point that will allow the cause fear spell to reach the duergars and the bizarre creature in the water. The three duergars immediately react in such a way to indicate that the spell has taken root in their minds. They look upon Douth with fear. The creature in the lake, however, shows no indication of being frightened.
Ruby yells,”What in blazes is going on down here!!” She charges towards the rock human thing as it is the closest thing to her and raises her rapiers above her shoulders ready to pierce them into stone as far as they will go.
Attack: 16 Damage: 10
Attack: 23 Damage: 10
Then backs away to where she was.
”What are you talking about Douth? The threat is that monstrosity in the water that I think is telling us it is helping??” She uses her action to dash towards Copper to try and help.
NOTE: Ruby, Friar, and Copper turn their attention to Douth but see nothing other than Douth. Everything appears completely normal, including the ground around Douth.
Friar plants his feet firmly on the ground, and yells, "That's bloody enough of this!" and uses Spiritual Weapon attack: Attack: 24 Damage: 11; if hit is good-force damage 10

STR saves (DC 14):
Copper 13
Douth 21
Friar 14
Ruby 15
Riv 10
Miznak 6
Duergar 1 17
Copper's telepathic effort is met only with silence, and for a second time the murky lake water swells and lashes outward toward anyone near the shore. It seems as if the lake were a living entity, trying to swallow any who are within range. Only Ruby and Miznak are able to avoid being pulled into the water. Everyone else is knocked prone and is now approximately 20' from the shore.
The creature--whoever or whatever it is--has submerged and is now completely out of sight.
All players may act, but I want to make sure we're all on the same page with movement and actions in this situation. For any character in the lake, it will require 20' of swimming (which is equal to 40' of movement for anyone without a swimming speed) to reach dry ground. So, the dash action will be necessary for Douth, Copper, and Friar to reach the shore during this turn. Then, upon reaching the shore, those characters will be prone when they begin their next turn.
NOTE: Friar's spritual weapon attack DID hit the creature in the lake. Although the map fails to show the location of the spiritual weapon, it is still activated and located two squares diagonally northwest of Copper.
Ruby shouts to Miznak, “Now that you’re apparently back to your normal self, what in the world is going on here? What is in the lake? There is a voice in our heads! Explanations!!!”
(I’m hoping I can wait for an answer before Ruby’s action?)

“Good to know, thanks!!” And Ruby uses her bonus action to dash around the bottom of the lake (50ft) and readies her bow to attack as soon as the creature shows itself above the water.
Attack: 24 Damage: 14

Was Friar able to get at least on his feet and back towards shore?
Yes, he's standing in approximately 18 inches of water, but he is standing and secure.
He is going to move towards better footing on shore
Ruby calls out to Druegar #4 “What do you mean she’s in the lake? Someone Is trapped in the lake or out to get us?”
She then uses her shortbow again to loose an arrow at druegar #1
Attack: 17 Damage: 10

All players may act in any order.
Copper looks at Miznak and sees the change in him, just like the other duergar.
"He was controlled too," Copper shouts to Riv.
Copper turns and faces the water-creature.
"Cease the attack. We need to investigate this further," he calls to the creature. "They were all being controlled."
And Copper very much thinks it was the water-creature doing so. It must be behind what's going on.

Douth:
The cavern floor near you begins heave and crack and moments later a humanoid-like mass of earth and rock stands before you.
Actions for Friar and Ruby remain.

Copper shouts again at the water creature. Was it ignoring his call or did it not understand him unless he thought to it?
He thinks the same lines this time "Cease the attack. We need to investigate this further. They were all being controlled."
Friar plants his feet firmly on the ground, and yells, "That's bloody enough of this!" and uses Spiritual Weapon attack: Attack: 24 Damage: 11; if hit is good-force damage 10

Copper sputters and spits out a stream of water. He then looks around for any sign of the creature. Staying in the water puts them at a disadvantage.
”It’s not bloody bath day yet.” Cooper shouts.
Then he swims as hard and fast as he can to get to shore.
Dash and full swimming movement to shore.
Ruby shouts to Miznak, “Now that you’re apparently back to your normal self, what in the world is going on here? What is in the lake? There is a voice in our heads! Explanations!!!”
(I’m hoping I can wait for an answer before Ruby’s action?)
Miznak's voice echoes through the cavern. "A vile creature...Urongulur is her name...guard your mind!"
“Good to know, thanks!!” And Ruby uses her bonus action to dash around the bottom of the lake (50ft) and readies her bow to attack as soon as the creature shows itself above the water.
