Peering inside the nest, you spy a chest sinched to a chewed saddle, sinched to a horses bones, and a case, on the same, deceased horse, also, one very large egg, in the center of the nest.

“Rabbit, found a chest, and a griffin egg” Margret tries to figure out how to carry both down without breaking the egg.  She will unattach the straps around the carcass and then re strap them so she can hold it on her shoulder.  The egg she will see if she can wrap in a cloak to protect it. She will also look for any weapons that also could have been attached to the horse. 

no weapons can be seen. 

Rabbit had remained below, though she was ready with a spell in case she was needed up by the nest. She nods as Margret shouts down. "Sounds worth further investigation!" she calls up. "Do you need a hand? I can come up." 

“If it’s easy, come on up. Otherwise, I think I can manage.”

Rabbit gives it just a moments' thought then casts Spider Climb. She then simply walks up the side of the cliff to join Margret. "Yea, not too hard," she says as she looks at the nest and the remnants of what was once a horse. "Seems there's a case here as well." (OOC - At least I think that was the description.) She tries to pick it out from amongst the bones.  "Should we try to carry things down first, then look at them? I suppose the egg is valuable, though I'm not sure to who. Not many in Phandalin that would know what to do with it."  

Krull being satisfied for not killing those beasts ask Droop "wanna rest?donkey was your friend.. give him proper burial" The idea of having a tamed griphon sounds brilliant to him..it will be an asset to future fights..it might help them in the far future with their fight against that white dragon .He shouts " we should keep the egg and nurture it until it hatch..Baby griphon will be our ally..that should make up for Droops friend we lost today"

"Yes, let's secure the items, and here, I have wrapped the egg in a cloak. Then, carefully head back down and take a look at what we have found."
When ready, Margret will emanate her echo 30 feet below on a safe ledge. She will then change places with her echo, now being 30 feet down. She will continue this process until she is safely on the ground.

"Your spell seems to work better, Rabbit. Remind me to learn it sometime."

"Alright then." If Rabbit can take the chest by herself, she will do that.  Otherwise, unless Margret can get it and the egg, she'd try to devise some way to get a rope around the thing and lower it down - probably in a few steps.  She'll grab the case as well. Once things are set, she'll start to work her way back down with the items. 

As much as Droop felt drawn to the nest, the lingering terror of what the others thought of his failings kept leading him to burying his face back in the dirt. But the more he overheard the exchanges between the others and was again invited to aid in the burial, he warily looks up to Krull, then shakily lets his gaze drift over to the others before nervously nodding to the goliath. Then after wiping his face of dirt, tears, and snot as best he could, he started to shuffle back to whatever remained of the cart.

Start to, but then... stopped mid step to turn and look again up to the nest. If whatever drew him to it 'felt' already in hands of the others that went up, he'd would try to wait until they were down. But if the feeling only grew OR he senses they somehow missed what he'd saw glinting earlier, then he'd thoughtlessly begin scampering his way up. (See spoiler for acrobatics check if applicable)

Margret carefully takes the egg and the case back down to the rest of the group, eager for further examination.

Droop, meets the girls, packages in hand, halfway up the mountain, the case carried by Rabbit on her back seems to be the focus of Droops longing. A black and white image of Margaret moves next to Rabbit, then Margret herself, in its place. It's been slow going, Rabbit has to stay in front of the chest to keep it from, falling down the mountain.  

Once down, Margret will look over the chest and case and look them over for any obvious traps, key holes, and secret external compartments. Then satisfied that there are none, she will open the chest.

"I"m no expert at traps, but let me take a Quick Look for anything suspicious."

OOC Back at the half way point mentioned, is point for Rabbit, Margret and Droop to roleplay.  

"This is turning out to be harder than expected." Especially with carrying the egg. "Droop, take this case down for me, I think that will help me."

(OOC - The DM indicated Rabbit is carrying the case on her back, even though Margret had indicated she was carrying the case?  And Rabbit had previously said she had grabbed the case.  So, I'm not sure whether Droop taking it will help Margret or not. Perhaps we could get a description of the case? I'm guessing it's not a map case or card case. How heavy is it? How heavy is the chest? I don't care so much in pounds, but can one person lift them? These are kind of the things Rabbit was trying to figure out back a few posts ago, but there was no response to that.  Anyhow, I went ahead and deleted my previous post. I'll wait for information before trying again.)

While they are trying to move all their findings from the nest Krull will meditated focusing his connection to the spirit world in an attempt to speak with the griffons (Ritual speak with the animals (they are considered monstrosities but he doesn't know it)

Once he is done he will ask the female one what does she know about the cave..He will also tell her that he baby is safe plus the other flew away

You only took the Egg, Margret, Rabbit has both the chest and case, you could offer to help Rabbit, but will risk breaking the egg.

Krull is not sure that the Female or Male Griffons, understand him, cause they are both out cold.

Gundren has set up a temporary, campfire, "If ye are gonna let the griffons, live, I suppose we can bring the equines into the cave, if its possible."

When Droop comes up to join them, Rabbit gives a tiny nod to the goblin. "Good to see you. It would really help if you could take the case."
