Caught before he can act, Droop hesitates for a second too long, and ends up losing his nerve. But now even more nervous from the attention, he doesn't quite take up Rabbits offer, and instead started warily stuffing his mouth full of food, if only assure the others. He even tried to smile around one mouthful, but winds up dribbling before losing his nerve again. At that point, he resolves to just stay quiet and watchful of the party's moves for the rest of the evening.

The night goes uneventful, everyone is well fed, and if they visit the outhouse, relieved but nearly pass out cause of Krulls lingering....🦨
A long rest is taken Al is back on his feet, but refuses to leave his home and farm. "I'll just hire some guards, from Tribor, I guess." before you you leave you are loaded up with a weeks worth of cheese and butter.
(nice!!) Krull dreams of his brother .. he welcomes him and go together on a hunt.. suddenly they are becoming wolves hunting as a pack and once again themselves holding axes in hands full of blood .They sit, drink and eat and having a lot of conversation..the sensation is different..he feels stronger, faster. He wakes up early the next morning and practises with his shield and axe
(@Shim: So, I started writing up a suggestion, but saw it start to get away from me. So, left it all in the spoiler below.)
Looks like you got most of the standard defense suggestions covered. Just throw in a silvery barbs(if you hate your dm.. j/k) as your anti-crit, magic missile for those times you /really/ need a hit in your back pocket, or expeditious retreat if playing in a campaign with a LOT of huge maps (looking at you SKT)
And if you plan to take sorcerer up to level 3, then I'd aim for mirror image or mist step. There are of course some other 'fun' options, but depending on how much your gonna invest into spellcasting going forward, you may be better off going with the above to get a little more bang for your buck. If not playing heavily into sorcerer I'd also cap it at 3, picking up Quicken & Subtle)
Mayhaps Droop dreamed of facing a hundred wolves by his lonesome, and growing into an epic hero dual wielding chainsaw blades? Mayhaps it was the later promise of a weeks worth of cheese and butter in his future? Or maybe a case could be made for the goblin simply coming into his own after the harrowing fights versus axe beaks, orcs, and dangerous wolves? Either way, come the next morning the goblin went about preparing for the group's departure with a touch more pep to his step, and even seemed a little less bothered by the farmhands. But he still refrained from going out of his way to interact with them, preferring to gobble up breakfast quick so he could tend to his usual duties to the cart.
After the meal, Rabbit eventually excuses herself to head off to wherever they were offered to sleep. But after glancing at the accommodations a moment, she decides to slip out to walk around outside a bit. As she steps out of the building, she calls upon darkness to surround her. (Casting Darkness on herself using sorcery points.) Perhaps if anyone were watching they might have caught the abrupt cutoff of light about her. But as she moves out into the fields, the night and darkness would be nearly indistinguishable.
She finds a spot to sit in the darkness for a bit as her mind wanders to thoughts of her companions. Krull, the only one still with her from Neverwinter. Meeting Droop in the Glassstaff's stronghold. Then Margret and Calithor joining up in Phandalin. Of course, Mau had died there in that same stronghold. Edryd, the crazy cleric of the moon mistress, he'd stayed behind in Phandalin. And finally Wolfe. She wished she could have forgotten him, but she did still keep wondering what had become of him after he'd left them after all the Redbrand business.
With a deep breath she tries to put them out of mind. Thought turn to her own powers that seem to only be growing within her. This magic that had somehow come to her had started to feel almost natural. For a moment her mind went back to her life in Neverwinter, before Gundren had offered this job. She'd tried to keep her abilities a secret as she lived her life barely scraping together a living off the streets. Now she was... well, she didn't know. But even now she could feel that dark power within her getting stronger. She laughed softly, thinking again of Wolfe and the angelic voice that he claimed spoke to him. What would he think of her now?
After a time of reflection and finally just meditating in the darkness, Rabbit decided she'd best return and get some sleep. Quietly she returned to the house and found a spot to sleep.
She awoke in the morning refreshed. But also eager to get back to Phandalin. It was probably about time they checked in with Sildar and figured out what else he had for them to do.
Krull after a couple of hours of drills with his shield and axe stops and decides it's time to take a shower..He goes back into the house and asks whoever is awake at that time for clean towels..It's been days he has been in the wilderness and normally he would use some nearby stream or take water from the well etc..working though as a bodyguard for local lords or rich merchants taught him about saunas and baths.. one of the privileges of his work you could say..
After the shower he will try to have some quick breakfast and will start to be ready to be back on the road once again..this time to a place where a dwarf he respects will wait for them
(Ready to go, yes. Rabbit would like to ask Al directly about what he thinks the orcs were trying to get from him. She could do that while the butter and cheese is being loaded up probably.)
Calithor figures the staff won't help Big Al, and that his condition takes time and rest to recover. Big Al replies to Rabbit "They were tryin to get me to reveal where my men went."
The group sets out, what route do you take, back too Phandelver? The quickest would be the Triboar Trail, roughly 60miles.
Rabbit thanks Al for his hospitality last night. "Ah, of course. I'm sure they were all grateful you didn't give away their location." She helps with getting the animals ready and getting the group on the road. "I seem to recall that there was some concern about Conyberry? Perhaps we should go around the town. But otherwise it seems like the Triboar Trial is the way to go."
“Sounds good Rabbit. I’ve been working on a new skill, check this out.”
Suddenly there is a second image of Margret next to Rabbit it moves as Margret does. Then it moves away. The image of Margret swings Talon, then next to Rabbit, Margret swings Talon. “you like?”
"I saw a foreign warrior do this when I was young and never figured it out until now. I believe he was from an ancient political group called the Kryn Dynasty. In these last few fights I began to piece together how he did it. Its sort of an illusion, but more of a teleportation portal. I envision what could be, or what could have been and I concentrate and think of myself over there, sort of like sending my "echo". Like if I had made one choice, I'd be there, but if I made a different choice, I'd be here. Different possibilities create the idea of an alternate me.
I can teleport to the image, which then makes my current location the image. Then I can go back and forth. I can even attack from either location, yet my echo is unaffected by most things."
(Better to sell the armor and if we want, get droop something more useful)
Droop hearing Margrets soothing words, you realize your friends are there eating too, and the farm hands are not a threat, but its up to you.

As it becomes clear that the coast is clear, at least for a moment, he summons more energy from the staff to do what he can for the unconscious man.
