Mavis follows the group all the while keeping an eye on young lady Rose and young master Thorn. Both of them seems shaken by the fight and Mavis offers them an awkward assuring pat on their back as he keeps to their side.

The Verdan reassuringly smiles back at Oron. "Yes I am, thank you~! I'm glad you're alright as well~"
They proceed to follow the group to the east room, walking alongside the children with Mavis. "So so," they spoke to the children again. "Do you recall any time your parents or someone securing your home with magic at all?"
The double doors to this room have dusty panes of stained glass set into them. Designs in the glass resemble windmills. The dusty, cobweb-filled master bedroom has burgundy drapes covering the windows. Furnishings include a four-poster bed with embroidered curtains and tattered gossamer veils, a matching pair of empty wardrobes, a vanity with a wood-framed mirror and jewellery box, and a padded chair. A rotting tiger-skin rug lies on the floor in front of the fire place, which has a dust-covered portrait of a couple hanging above it, who you recognise as Rose and Thorn's parents from the portrait in the lower hall. A web-filled parlour in the southwest corner contains a table and two chairs. Resting on the dusty tablecloth is an empty porcelain bowl and a matching jug, A door facing the foot of the bed has a full-length mirror mounted on it, that opens to reveal an empty, dust-choked closet. A door in the parlour leads to an outside balcony. In the corner of the west wall there is a dumbwaiter with a button on the wall next to it.
It takes a moment before Rose responds quietly. "No. I don't know why it came to life."
As far as you can tell, she believes she is telling the truth. The runes on the suits aren't the sort that can be done on the go, they take specialised equipment and a significant amount of time.
'I do not think any of us have asked, but can you tell me what your parents do, young lady Rose?' Mavis asks in the hope that his question can distract the siblings from worrying more. 'Are they merchant? Landowner? Artisan? And are they a practitioner of magic? A former knight or soldier? A scholar?'
"They rent land to the village so people can grow our food." Rose says. "They buy things from the caravan people when they come, but I don't think they sell anything. Mother might know some magic, but Father's never liked it."
Xai'Bo will move from the east room to the west room, just to make sure they have checked everywhere before they look at the panel the mist is flowing from.
You open the western door to find more dust and cobwebs shrouding an elegantly appointed bedroom and an adjoining nursery. Double doors set with panes of stained glass pull open to reveal a balcony overlooking the front of the house.
The bedroom contains a large bed, two end tables, and an empty wardrobe. Mounted on the wall next to the wardrobe is a full-length mirror with an ornate wooden frame carved to look like ivy and berries. The nursery contains a crib covered with a hanging black shroud. Asleep in a wooden chair nearby is a ghostly young woman dressed in the attire of a nursemaid.

Mavis looks into the east room and notices the dust around it. It makes him wonder whether this room and any other room in the house have been used recently. He moves toward the dumbwaiter and opens it, peering into the small space carefully and hesitantly.
{{Is there any indication that the room on the east(?), the one checked first, have been left behind for a very long time? Are there any letters or something denoting time and date? Just to get a rough sense of a timeline.}}
You find a letter sealed in red wax and stamped with the windmill insignia of the house sticking out underneath the jewellery box. A date is written in the top right corner: February 17th, 383. It looks like it was written here but never sent.
Xai'Bo holds out one hand to stop Thorn getting too close, and with his other holds a finger to his lips to ask for quiet.
"You recognise this ghostly woman young master? When did you last come here? Were there this many cobwebs then?", he whispers to Thorn, trying not to rouse the nurse maid.
Ruel takes in the scene and notices the black shroud above the cot, fearing the worse for Baby Walter, his suspicions further roused by the letter 26 years old,
Motioning to Mavis "Perhaps there may be more truth revealed in that letter."
Mavis nods to Sir Ruel and opens the letter. He starts reading, opting to not speak out the content. As he does so, he looks toward young lady Rose and asks, 'Young lady Rose, can you humour me with what today's date is?'
"Ghost?! She can't be a ghost- she'd have to be...dead..." Thorn says. Rose quickly wraps him in a hug.
"She might just be under a spell, Thorn. It'll be alright." she says, then turns to you. "It wasn't this filthy when we came downstairs a moment ago. Can magical fog do this?"
Your advice on dealing with the unwanted fiend in my home is very good advice indeed. Tonight's ceremony will proceed as planned when the moon is at its highest peak - without, of course, the attendance of Mr. Durst. I must agree with you that, yes, with such an innocent sacrifice our proceedings may have better results. Though "innocent" is not quite the term I would use.
My Thanks,
Mrs. Elisabeth Durst
Rose gives you a quizzical look. "It's February the seventeenth. The year is three hundred and eighty three. Why?" she says.

"This room has not been used in some time", Xai'Bo says looking around. "I do not believe we will find the child in here".
He will nonetheless have a look around, quietly speaking some words of power to request guidance as he does so, "Tree of Life guide me once more".

Oron will make his way to the outside balcony to get some air. Taking a deep breath when he gets outside, he'll look out at the street.
I don't have a signature.
The 'Melantha'-named Verdan took a peek into the room, but stood out of it.
They DO NOT like the rotting tiger-skin rug.

You search thoroughly, but there is no sign of life in the room.
It is too foggy to even see the street. You can barely make out the light from the lamps of the front door.
