The lumberjacks, finishing their meal, build up a bit of a bonfire with trimmed branches and the like, and since two of you are planning on sleeping next to it, they all turn in for the night after making room for the others within the bunkhouse.

Nolla curls up next to a couple of the bulky woodsmen, glad to not be outside near the fire. She settles into a comfortable sleep.

Perigold, you are sitting up during your turn to keep watch and you find your eyes getting heavy, but a burbling howl breaks the silence and you come to full alert, Samael stirring beside you. It's eerie, and though silly sounding, it does sound... wet. As if the wolf making it were trying to gargle, or had its muzzle partially submerged in a bucket of water.

For those of you inside, it's a bit muffled, but still clear, the lumberjack that Nolla is nearest flailing about and blushing in embarrassment as he almost smacks her. Thavirol, you judge them to be coming from the southeast at the moment.

ooc: Thavriol was outside.  He told Samael if he was going to sleep outside, Thavriol was joining him.

((Ah, then you definitely hear them when Peri does, they jolt you awake instantly.))

"so, it is a wet howl after all..."

"Is that the sound?" Nolla asks as she snuggels into her blankets a bit more. "You said they don't come very close, so we should be fine here, right?"

"Yeah, that's the sound. They'll circle, but haven't had them come into the camp."

Thavriol looks around, then, as quietly as possible with plate, begins donning his armor, hoping whatever is out there gives him enough time.

"Lemme see if i can get a better look."

Samael is fully awake now. and looks for where and what these creatures are. he doesn't leave the fire.

21 perception

Perigord rushes into his armor, then gets to helping Thavriol with his. He also hands Thavriol one of his cook's treats.

"Old recipe- it'll make you a bit tougher, but won't fix anything for good."

Nothing is visible, but the gurgling howling begins sounding all around the camp, from multiple creatures.

Nolla pulls her blankets up a bit tighter, unable to sleep with the sound, but content with the information that they don't come into camp.

Samael seems..... interested. not moving from the fire, but still interested in what he hears.

Thavriol racks his mind, trying to see if that sound reminds him of anything.

They are definitely wolf howls, but they sound... sick maybe? Like kind of phlegmy?
