Balliol listens to the whispered conversation and immediately keeps his eyes on the brambles looking for the snakes. He investigates the area as well as he can. He tries to see the snakes in the brambles. He looks for an entrance - door or window - to the tower. He tries to see if the tower looks climbable.
Balliol rolled investigation and perception - not sure what you want for this, but he also rolled terribly. I also rolled insight to see if he believes this guy. Meanwhile he cautiously guards against an emergence of a snake - he will attack as soon as one appears.
With Balliol heading into the bramble keeping an eye out for the supposed serpents that the man said were there, Resmae comes up with the only solution she can think of to get the man down and calls - in a sort of whisper, "Sammy! We need to help this gentleman, let me climb atop you and we'll rescue him!" she says in Sylvan..
Sammy has a different idea as he runs over to Resmae and picks her up in his mouth then blinks from where they are to inside the basket, hopefully not squishing the fellow that is currently occupying it. As soon as they arrive, Resmae smacks Sammy on the gums and he releases her. Annoyed, she starts pulling the rope from her pack and asks the man, "Do you want me to tie this around you or do you want to do it?"
The tower before you stands about 50 feet high and about 20 feet wide. It is leaning quite steeply toward your location. The torn balloon is caught on the crenellations around the base of its roof, and dangling precariously below it from tangled and tattered strings is the balloon's basket. The base of the tower is surrounded by about 30 feet of thorny brambles (difficult terrain) between yourselves and the tower's base.
The whispering voice seems to be coming from the basket hanging somewhat above and in front of you.
Sammy picks up Resmae in his mouth, and the two disappear (blink) from view.
Balliol, you make your way into the brambles where you can see a window on the side of the tower facing you about two-thirds of the way up and another on its adjacent right side. You can't see the door Sir Talava speaks of from your position, but you can see poking around the right side of the tower just above the brambles, what looks like a snake's tail. Quite a large one at that.
Additional: Halei, you spot the corpse of a bullywug beneath the balloon.
Resmae is surprised by the cute tiny fairy dragon in a cage, and that he was the voice they heard. "Well, hi! We uh, better move fast, sounds like the weight from us is making the balloon tear faster! Sammy, grab the cage!" Resmae commands as she climbs on the back of her beloved dog. As soon as she does a few of the basket strings tethered to the torn balloon snap, causing the basket to drop a couple of feet lower. The sound of the tearing balloon is increasing and Sammy grabs the cage with his mouth and blinks back down to safety.
Resmae looks back up to the basket and makes sure they aren't standing underneath it. "So, who are you again and how did you end up trapped in the basket?"
Halei heads over to investigate the corpse of the bullywug.
Aros, Balliol, Wildred,
You watch as Sammy picks up Resmae in his mouth, and they blink away. The dangling balloon above starts to become more active, bouncing and tearing. You can hear Resmae and the mystery voice talking up in there.
Shortly after, Sammy blinks back before your very eyes with Resmae on his back and a small, round, golden birdcage in his mouth. It is about one and a half feet tall, and one foot wide and inside it is a tiny fairy dragon.
Resmae quizzes the little creature "So, who are you again and how did you end up trapped in the basket?"
He looks around at you and says, "Oh, how wonderful! Sir Talava, one of the Summer Queen's loyal servants, at your service." He bows as best as he can in the confinement of the cage, "Well, I would be if I were out of this cage. Any chance you can help set me free?" You see..." continues Sir Talava responding to Resmae.
He is interrupted by the sound of a huge tear. You all look up and watch as the balloon's fabric finally gives way. The basket, trailed by the flailing torn balloon, plummets to the ground, crashing only a few feet from Halei and the corpse.
Balliol, you glance back over to the snake's tail, but it is gone.
Balliol moves quickly out of the brambles keeping his eyes open for any sign of the snake. "Snake heard the noise. Big one. Back away from the tower and brambles. Get some room. We have company." He draws his sword and is ready - he holds his action - he will attack if a snake attacks him. "The faerie dragon said TWO snakes. Eyes open."
Halei crouches near the corpse, tense as she examines it. She'd never taken well to the sight of dead things. Even a simple dead bug could easily creep her out. She's so transfixed on the corpse that the basket plummetting to the grounds frightens her so much she falls to the ground, her arms held up to brace herself.
"Oh right the snakes!" Resmae exclaims and looking down at her little bunny size makes the danger even that more of an issue. "Aros, can you try and release Sir Talava? Sammy and I need to be ready for an attack!" and leaving the cage to Aros's hands, she climbs back ontop of Sammy and readies herself for an attack.
Halei, a closer investigation of the bullywug reveals he is very much dead. He is dressed in noble clothing and is lying face down amongst crushed bramble bushes. It looks as if he has taken a significant fall from the tower or balloon above. He has a small leather pouch tied to his belt and dons a sheathed shortsword.
Aros answers Resmae's call for help. Pulling some lock picks from her pocket, she tries to unlock Sir Talava's cage.
Some of you spot the brambles shaking and moving.
"Snake heard the noise. Big one. Back away from the tower and brambles. Get some room. We have company." Balliol calls out with a warning, "The faerie dragon said TWO snakes. Eyes open."
You are confronted by two huge serpents slowly slithering toward you shortly after. One snake emerges about ten feet east of Balliol, and the other's enormous head appears about ten feet east of the downed basket.
"Oh, Dear!" you hear Sir Talava say to himself as he tries unsuccessfully to draw his tiny sword in the cage.
Please roll initiative. A link to the active battle map is here.
After spotting the pouch and weapon she retrieves said items (with no lack of disgust) for herself. At the approach of the serpents, she jumps, and holds the shortsword infront of herself awkwardly.

Resmae kicks Sammy in the sides urging the dog to move forward. Sammy bounds ahead and right when they pass Balliol, Resmae lifts her hands in the air, mumbles a few words casting toll the dead bringing forth the bells...
WIS save of 13 or 8 necrotic damage
Sammy continues on and reaches the serpent. Baring his teeth he attempts to bite at it, Resmae still on his back.
Attack: 20 Damage: 4
Once Sammy sees the size of this creature, he doesn't want to get bit himself and he blinks back to be just South of Balliol.
Halei is reluctant to make a move to attack. Instead she attempts an Animal Friendship spell on the snake, but keep her sword in a vice grip close to her body.
Just as Balliol warns you of the incoming snakes, one emerges some 10 feet in front of him to the south of the tower.
Halei swiftly picks up the bullywug's shortsword and stands alert and prepared, sword in hand. A second snake emerges to the west of the tower about 25 feet from her.
Wildred mutters a few words as he casts mage armour to protect himself.
The snake that emerges by Balliol appears surprised by the Herangon's presence. Balliol sees the opportunity and takes it. He lunges at the creature with his shortsword, poking it in the nose (for 4 piercing damage).
Intending to befriend the beast, Halei starts singing a soothing tune to the closest serpent to her. The snake stops, briefly turning his attention to Halei's angelic song, before it slowly continues through the remaining brambles toward the others.
Resmae spurs on Sammy, galloping over to the snake nearest Balliol, slowed by the brambles as they enter. Resmae raises her hands and murmurs some words, causing the gong of a huge bell to emanate around the creature, the reverberations of the standing wave shuddering its brain and innards (for 4 necrotic damage).
Sammy takes a bite and the serpent, sinking his teeth deep into the snakes eyelid and eye. (Critical hit for 9 piercing damage). That's gotta hurt!
Aros turns her attention from picking the lock and charges the snake nearest Halei. Head down, she rams her head into the beast (for 3 bludgeoning damage), and the snake startles for a moment as it shakes its head from side to side.
Sir Talavar seems rather impressed with the head butt, "Ohh ho ho! Jolly good lass!" he chuffs.
Both of the serpents, looking rather offended by the unprovoked attacks regain their composure and ready themselves to retaliate.

A rustling comes from the underbrush. Then footsteps, running. Out from the greenery beside the snake next to Balloil bursts a large, heavily-muscled and half-orc. Arcing through the air in a mighty leap, he holds his battle axe over his head in two hands, poised to swing down on the snake. He wears nothing but tattered, dirt-smeared pants and a tight chainmail shirt that seems to be missing the sleeves.
Brows furrowed with focus, jaw clenched in concentration, shoulder muscles tensed and bulging, eyes filled with a hunger, and a... strand of drool trailing from his lips.
"LUUUNCH!" he howls as he swings his axe down at the snake.
Wildred looks over to Halei over by the dead bullywug then double takes the snake...Next to Aros.
"We should stick together, come down to Balliol and the guys" he shouts over to Halei he runs 20ft South East then runs for cover 10ft East, as he does he starts to conjure a fireball, he finds cover and as he jumps behind a tree he launches a fireball at the snake attacking balliol and the group.
Balliol sees the group all do solid damage in their attacks on the serpents - and even some crazy newcomer screaming about lunch! He starts to contemplate the usefulness of snakes as additions to dinner (In general snakes, rabbits and dinners go the other way around.) but refuses to let himself get distracted. Hopefully the newcomer will continue to be on their side, dietary issues aside. Balliol moves to attack the snake again, attempting to move to its left side to avoid being directly in front of its mouth.
