It’s clear she wants the sword. As a merchant, it’s probably safe to assume her first offer isn’t her ‘best’ offer, but you don’t get the impression she’s trying to rob you. Maybe you can extract a little more, if you want to sell.

Just out of curiosity, can she recall anything about the Tressendars? If nothing at all, she will ask the woman at the counter, but she expects her to lie to get a better deal. History: 21
You don’t see the kinds of tokens necessary for the Augury spell, at least on display in the main shop.
Thinking on the sword, you recall a bit of history about the Tresendars. They were the lords of this town in the old days before it was abandoned and reclaimed by the wilderness. Responsible for the town’s defense, many of the heirs trained in the martial skills so they could lead the local militia. In battle, they were said to wield a powerful sword.
The sword is inscribed with the name “Talon,” and its hilt is worked in the shape of a bird of prey with outspread wings. Its most famous wielded was a great knight named Aldith Tresendar, known as the Black Hawk.
The sword was supposed to be magic, supernaturally sharp and deadly in the hands of a skilled warrior.
Recalling this, and assuming this is that same magical sword, the current offer is woefully inadequate. Pricing on magical items depends largely in n the type, the quality, and current market conditions, but you have never seen anyone selling a magical long sword for less than 500gp.

"Ah, friend. Afraid we don't trade in weapons or armor. Just food, tools and material, and general purpose goods." Looking around, you see that this is a well-stocked general store. A tray of warm sugar cookies sits on the counter and an old, possibly blind hound dog lies on the floor beside the counter, staring up at you. "You should visit the Lionshield Coster. I can't say for certain they'll be in the market for used leathers, but I know for a fact that they carry arms and armor."
Keashirryl, you do spot a handful of carved bone tokens in a bin of miscellaneous bits, bobs and schwag at the end of the counter. The proprietor will let them all go for 2sp.
[Assuming you move on to the Lionshield...]
A trading charter is posted on the wall outside the Lionshield Coster. It identifies the Lionshield as a trading company headquartered in Yartar, but licensed by the rulers of Neverwinter to maintain this trading post in Phandalin.
Inside you are greeted by a cheerful human woman of perhaps 30 who names herself Linene Graywind. More importantly, she recognizes all of you from your description and from tales she has heard of your deeds in and around town since you arrived. Most importantly, she knows you are the ones she has to thank for driving out the Redbrands. As a show of thanks, she offers 25gp in store credit, plus another 5gp in coin for the leather armor. They do carry a variety of weapons and armor, at reasonable prices.

"Ah, my mistake. May I pet your dog?", T'laren asks, his irritation at the previous merchant fading.
"I find myself a bit over burdened, in addition to the armor, I've also an iron pot, a shovel, and a bunch of torches I'd like to sell. Those cookies smell delicious!"
((Realized I didn't have my backpack equipped, and am over T'laren's modest carrying capacity. Dumping the leather gets him under, but has some unnecessary weight cluttering up his inventory. If anyone has use for a shovel or iron pot, speak up!))

leather armor (sold to Linene, 5g)
1 hand axe
1 shovel

9 torches

Droknin had little interest for the mining trading and the general goods stores, unless he needed something, which was very rare. However, when he enters the Lionshield Coster he looks around with interest, and inspects the items for sale in the store. He approaches the store owner with a broad smile. "Greetings Ms. Graywind. I am impressed with what you have to offer in your store, but say, do you happen to have anything from the golden plains of Oreskos?" Droknin tries to determine if the store owner has even heard of his birthplace. "It is a land far from here. I do not expect that you do, but I was curious nonetheless."
