The spider makes Brida uneasy so she stays my the fire. "This isn't as fresh as I'd like but there's more at home," Brida replies speaking of the cheese before frowning. "Mother taught me...before she died," she adds offering food everyone.
Baltus stokes the flames of the hearth and chews a piece of jerky in silence.
OOC: unless anyone wants to ask more questions of the Gunnulf's or each other you need to figure out the watch then we'll begin them.
"So the spider is not just your pet, then?" Ursal asks, truly curious.
"Brida, cheese with any flavor is a blessing when you wander the wilds as much as I have the last few years. It's a tribute to yer goats as much as to yer ma. I for one am grateful."
OOC: looks like Viktor and I will take first watch.
Just in case you need it here's a preemptive perception roll.
Albeit a bit delayed, he answers, "I answer to Rasmus."
A bit unsettled by Azondi, he glances away from the window. He takes a deep breath and states, "I'm comfortable taking second watch. I'm not at my peak, for the moment."
"no, its not a normal spider. do you know what a familiar is? Azondi is my familiar, she is intelligent and can communicate with me telepathically. she is a great friend to have, especially when hunting, or being hunted"
Viktor nods to each of his new companions as they give their names and partakes of the food offered
"Well its nice to meet you all, and thank you kindly for the food"
addressing Ursal again
"if you and our armour friend want to take the first watch, we 4 can get some rest in. wake me when its my turn to watch"
While everyone else beds down for a long rest Ursal and Krayne your watch begins just as the storm rolls in. Although the windmill is keeping the rain out for the most part the wind is blowing hard, howling through cracks in the walls making the entire entire building creak. Ursal for the first part of your watch nothing seems to be out of the ordinary.
Krayne you're trying your best to stay alert but you doze off several times during watch and Ursal must jostle you awake. First watch ends uneventfully. Ursal you direct Krayne to bed then wake Baltus and Viktor for their watch. The storm still rages outside and a hour passes when Baltus says he need to go outside to check on the horses after looking through the window and is unable to see both of the team in the stable behind the mill. Viktor everyone else is sound asleep, do you accompany him or let him go out on his own?
"Keep an eye on everyone and let me know if anything changes, Azondi"
turning to Bultus
"Let us go together, i have good vision in the dark. we will make sure the horses are ok"
Viktor wait to follow Bultus outside.
(OOC: i am assuming that the distance from the centre of the light house to where the horses are supposed to be is within the 100 ft distance for my Familiar telepathy. also for your info Azondi's Passive Perception is 10 and she has 30 ftDarkvision and Web Sense: While in contact with a web, the spider knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web)
OOC: You'll be able to sense everything. The stable is literally attached to the back of the windmill but it's a ruin more than the windmill is with two standing walls.
Baltus nods and you make your way together around the curve of the windmill towards the stables, within minutes you both are soaked.
Perception check please Viktor.

Whether its the rain or something else imposing the darkness seems very dark around you its almost oppressive! Batlus however moves forward with odd grace as if the darkness doesn't effect him one bit! Moving into the stables he does however light a lamp with a gesture of his hand. This bit of simple magic catches you off guard, how do you react?

The horses seem restless but it's more than likely the storm unsettling them. The wagon sits unchanged since Baltus parked it there having unhitch the horses and feed them with feeding bags on their faces. Nothing seems off but turning to look towards the window you see it's the moonless night and rain preventing a good view of the stables.
"Two years ago," Baltus explains. "My father had an enemy in the village but that man's been in the dungeons of the chieftain ever since he...he murdered her," he explains with a frown. "Don't say anything to Brida," he then says seeming his age finally, a scared teenage boy.
Baltus then moves to go back to the windmill, do you follow Viktor?

"i am truly sorry for your losses. at least your mothers killer has been dealt with. and once we are done, your fathers killer will also be dealt with."
Viktor follows Bultus back out into the storm to make his way back into the windmill.
Viktor smiles
"if someone can kill Azondi from above our heads, without us knowing, we have greater problems than them entering the windows undetected."
