Entering the Art Gallery was almost as breathtaking as making her way into the central Biblioplex for the first time. Well. Almost. Aithne smiled ruefully. It was no secret that books were far more fascinating than art in her personal opinion. But still, the range of art pieces and the incredible skill used in their construction was awe-inspiring. She was distracted momentarily by Aelyn's spell, placing a hand over her mouth to conceal her smile. His Avrol was slightly lop-sided, his Aithne looked much too tall, and his Ambre was as much a part of the machine as she was separate from it. It was clear what his intention was, but it hadn't quite come to fruition.
Aelyn might be on to something, though. There was clearly something they were required to do here in order to collect their prize. What that was, though, remained a mystery. Drifting away from her companions, leaving them to their conversation with the fractal artist, she began walking through the gallery, stopping occasionally to tilt her head one way, then the other, not entirely sure what the point of some of the artistic pieces were. All of them were beautiful in a unique way, but some were unrecognizable. Maybe they had to interact with one of the art pieces in some fashion?
The only thing of importance Aelyn discovers is Aithne, also walking through the gallery, seemingly studying the art. Perhaps her only interest wasn't books after all. But more likely she was on her way to solving this riddle. After hesitating for a moment Aelyn approached her. "Find anything interesting?" He says, trying to smile. "I'm sorry about before, and my pathetic attempt to create art, I do a lot of things before I think them through I'm afraid. Let me try to make it up to you by assisting you with solving this mystery." He says with an apologetic smile. (Help action given to any investigation attempt.)

"I liked it, actually." Aithne turned her attention from the unusual statue she was currently circling and paused in her steps to smile warmly at Aelyn. "Illusion magic is extremely complex. The fact that you created something remotely recognizable is very impressive. Living beings are particularly challenging. You're very talented." The compliment was earnest; the praise sincerely meant. "I'm flattered to have been one of your subjects." Aithne turned her attention back to the statue, removing her glasses to nibble absently at the tip of one arm. It was a habit she'd never been able to rid herself of. "I haven't found anything yet. But this space is immense. I'm sure we'll spot a clue if we continue looking."
"Oh, umm, thanks Aithne." Aelyn says, suddenly finding a piece of art very interesting, or more likely trying to hide the fact that he is blushing. Either way he is clearly not being of much assistance with finding any clues.
"You're welcome." The reply was a bit absent, her attention captured by the statue. After a short time, she moved on to the next art installment, squinting at the painting with a considering expression. "Maybe we have to create something?" She looked back toward Aelyn. "I thought your idea was quite ingenious, but it didn't prompt a response. Maybe a different kind of artistic expression?" Her glasses were back at her mouth, tapping lightly against her lower lip. "Music, possibly? Or Ambre could assemble something?"
Cadoras claps his hands together. "Brilliant! Just sign righty-right here and you'll be all set! Our first meeting is going to be right here the day before the term begins at 2:30 in the afternoon. You don't have to bring anything, it'll just be an orientation. You know, a meet and greet, 'here's what to expect' kind of deal. You know how clubs work, I'm sure,"The jolly elf chuckles as Ambre goes to fill out the sign up sheet.
Aithne and Aelyn work together and find a portrait of some older Prismari students - the placard next to the painting suggests these are the graduates of a class from a few years back. It reads: "At Strixhaven, we are all inspired."
Below the placard is a small lever. It's almost like it was not there before... until you read the placard. How strange!
"Well it wouldn't prompt a response as it wasn't all that inspiring." Aelyn says, still annoyed with his poor perfomance with his illusions. "I could always try to create inspiring music." He said, taking his lute again. He mostly sang romantic serenades though and somehow those did not seem appropriate at this particular time.
"Wait, the lever, I didn't see it at first." Aelyn says with raised eyebrows, looking at Aithne pulling it. "Oh, inspired, well there you go, didn't have to inspire anyone after all." He says, sounding slightly disappointed over that, but ready to pull the lever after Aithne, half-expecting another vial to pop out of the portrait.
Once Aithne pulls the lever, theres a *clunk* from behind the painting and a box drops out of the wall. Inside are five narrow, pointed flags: Two bearing the colors and seal of Lorehold, one bearing the colors and seal of Silverquill, one bearing the colors and seal of Prismari, and one bearing the colors and seal of Witherbloom. These are Strixhaven pennants.
"Hey, good job!" Cadoras cheers. "Took my group a while to figure out that one!"
"Oh! How clever!" Aithne picked up one of the Lorehold pennants and waved it lightly through the air, beaming with happiness as it started to shine faintly. "I quite like this." She admitted, continuing to gently wave the trinket back and forth, maintaining the magic that caused it to gleam. After a moment, she paused and tipped her head toward Aelyn. "You could play a song anyway." She suggested. "You have a lovely voice." She'd had little exposure to music, but even she could appreciate the time and dedication that such a skill required.

"Fascinating, it is like this place is telling us which colleges to apply for. Not that I didn't decide that already but what about Ambre?" Aelyn says, taking the Silverquill pennant. As he takes it it starts to glitter. "Yes, you would expect these to be imbued with some magic I guess." He says, pocketing the pennant and motioning for Ambre, Arvol and Hendrix to join them.
"Well thank you Aithne, of course I'll play you a song."He says, playing some soft chords before starting to sing. He sings of tragic love in the courts of the Feywilde, his instrument assisting him with creating illusions of the events of the song, leading up to a young couple dying in each others arms at the border between the summer court and the winter court. "I would be surprised if they didn't change their symbols. In the event that a student changes specialties." Aithne said in response. Her fingertips were itching to cast a spell and uncover the hidden depths of the little pennant, but they hardly had time for a lengthy magical ritual. Instead, she tucked the prize into her pack, looking up in time to catch the first cords of Aelyn's performance. She listened appreciatively to the rest, clapping at the conclusion. "That was wonderful! I loved the story. And your illusions were very clever. Though it was quite sad at the end..."
"Yes, sad, it's been known to bring cold-hearted tyrants to tears. I hope to create a piece like that one day." He says in a serious tone, taking a bow with a flourish. "The illusions weren't really mine though I'm afraid, I had some help from my instrument you see."He says, playing a chord, creating illusory red roses, floating off towards Aithne. "And I don't really control the effects I should add." He says quickly, putting the lute behind his back.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Ambre! I'm looking forward to seeing what other art you'll make - I'm sure you'll shatter all expectations! Haha, there's another glass pun for you, on the house,"Cadoras says as he takes your hand and gives it a hearty shake. "I'll be sure to save a seat for you at the meeting, too!"
Aithne smiled, extending a hand toward the illusory roses. They looked so real. But her fingers passed through them as soon as they reached her fingertips, dispersing like bubbles in the air. "I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for indulging me. We don't get many live performances in my home village. I'll look forward to your next performance." She assured Aelyn, dropping her hand back to her side. While they waited for their classmates to collect their pennants, she pulled out the list of riddles again, scanning the page for the next nearest option. They'd passed the garden on the way here. So perhaps that next? They'd collected a potion and a magical pennant. What would the next prize be?
"Did you join the Society of Artists?" Aithne inquired of Ambre as the girl rejoined them. "I'm curious what drew you to that club? Besides the advertisement." She smiled at Cadoras and nodded to acknowledge his presence.
"Huh? Oh, I like making things. They like making things, I can probably pick up new ideas for stuff from them!" Ambre says. "And hopefully help them with stuff too!"
