Ellina sighs, looking around at the disheveled lounge. "Well, I'm glad you're both alright, but... dammit, this'll take a while to clean up. That's the last time I let first years sneak animals in here!"
Aurora moves to Aelyn's side, nudging him with her elbow. "Oh, you poor, poor thing," She chuckles. "That was very brave of you... all of you. First you're all trunk-slayers, and now you're, what... frog-fighters?"
Croakula, now reduced to their original size, sticks close to Klok. They appear to be just fine. The slime is a little difficult to bottle up, but Ambre manages to get a little bit of it. (Ambre, make a perception check.)
Ambre inspects the slime... and she has no idea what it could possibly be. It seems to be rapidly decaying within the bottle, whatever it is. Like it's dissipating. It smells sweet, too.
"Yes, how epic isn't that, frog-fighters, worthy of a song don't you think." Aelyn says, leaning lightly on Aurora like he's really hurt. "I'm not sure I will make it Aurora." He says afte a while. "As my dying wish, will you write a song commemorating these heroic events?"
"Oh, my brave Aelyn, the ballad I will pen in your honor will move the very heavens!"She replies melodramatically."Aelyn, the dashing minstrel whose music could truly soothe the savage beasts that attacked Strixhaven! There shall never be another like him!"
"Oh, get a room, you two," a voice says; it's Quentillius. "Leave the dramatics to me!" He, Larine, Rosie, Urzmaktok, and Rampart have come back, checking up on all of you and seeing if you're all alright.
Urzmaktok gathers the frogs. "Ellina, everyone, I'll take these frogs to the labs on Witherbloom Campus and see that they're thoroughly studied. Such a reaction is not common amongst records of Sedgemoor amphibian life."
Larine pipes up. "Um, wait, could I come with you? I want to make sure Azul is alright..."
"Very well. Come along, Larine."
Rosie approaches Ellina. "Ah... sorry, Ellina, I didn't think this would get so crazy... We'll clean up, okay? Promise!"The gnome says apologetically.
"It's fine, Rosie. No one's been permanently injured, at least. Nor any of the furniture. But you will be cleaning this up!" Ellina replies. "As for you five... thank you for keeping the situation from getting out of hand. Here's a 10 gold gift card for each of you."
Ellina hands out a small gift card to each one of you.
"A room? Now that's an idea." Aelyn says with a wink to Aurora. "You know, it did actually hurt a bit, but it feels better now when you are here Aurora, perhaps you could help me back to my room though, just to be sure. Now, you're a Witherbloom Aurora, sort of. Any idea on what that black goo is that apparently made those frogs go berserk?" He says, motioning to the black goo Ambre collected.
"Hm, I don't know Aelyn, you seem plenty fine to me,"Aurora teases. "I'm not a Witherbloom yet, though, so I don't quite know. I'm not really an animal specialist. Maybe Urzmaktok's studies will shed some light. He's a genius. I heard he takes extra units so that he can graduate early, and with multiple degrees!"
"A genius huh, well then I'll just lean back and await the results from his tests then I suppose." Aelyn says, trying to make himself comfortable sitting with Aurora. "Strixhaven turned out to be a quite exciting place, don't you think Aurora, I'm not a riddle solver but if I had to guess, these two incidents are not mere accidents but by some nefarious design. Perhaps the Star would be interested to print a report on this dark mystery." He says, looking around to see what the others are up to.
"Thank you for the gift card." Klok says to Elina before turning to his friends "Perhaps Urz's studies will aid us in solving this mystery.....I would like to help...perhaps I can sneak away and report back?"
"Me?" Aithne protested softly, her eyes wide as she looked down from her position atop the chair. She accepted Arvol's hand, letting him assist her down from her perch. "I hardly did anything!" As her feet touched the floor again, she kept hold of his hand, scanning him for signs of injury. "I think your contribution was considerably more impressive. You ran in without any kind of hesitation... Were you hurt?" Aithne raised the hand that wasn't holding Arvol's and loosely latched onto the lapel of his uniform, waiting for a reply.
"I'm fine," Arvol replies immediately, trying to sound nonchalant. He's a little taken aback by Aithne keeping hold of both his hand and his uniform. "It's Ambre and Aelyn that got bit, but the owner brought them some healing potions. I was probably just lucky, didn't do all that much." He gives a slight shrug. "You were great though, getting up on that chair! You had a great view and could help with spells. Very smart!" he adds. He then tries to lightly squeeze Aithne's hand, in a manner that he hopes is reassuring.
He's not sure what to do with Aithne holding onto his lapel like that, so he just gives her a slight smile as he watches her.
"I was mostly trying not to get swept away by the crowd." Aithne admitted with a self-conscious wince and a glance toward their schoolmates as Quentillius, Larine, Rosie, Urzmaktok, and Rampart returned. "Though it did also help to see what was happening." She added, her expression brightening just a little. "I know I didn't do very much, but as long as everyone is okay, I'm just happy to have contributed. I'm curious as to how this happened, though. This is the second unexpected attack on the Strixhaven campus where students were endangered..."
Aithne chewed her lower lip for a moment, then stepped in close to give Arvol a quick hug. It was more a light press-- their hands were still tangled and her opposite one was positioned between them-- but she still managed to tuck her head into his shoulder and convey the sense of the gesture. "I'm glad you weren't hurt." She said in a rush before stepping back and releasing her hold on him, hand and lapel. "Should we check on the others?" She suggested, taking a step toward where Aelyn and Ambre were before checking to see if Arvol was following.
For a brief moment Arvol just stood still there, watching Aithne, a slight smile on his face. Then realizing she'd moved he follows after her. "I'm glad I wasn't hurt too," he jokes. "And very glad you were alright."
As they near the others he adds, "You are right, these events do seem odd. We should check with Professor Sharpbeak to see if they ever found out anything about that trunk."
"Well, let's just hope Urzmaktok can figure out something." Arvol says in response to Ambre. He then glances over to Rosie. "Where did those frogs come from anyway?"
"Are you two alright?" Aithne looked back and forth between Ambre and Aelyn. "I can't believe that the, um, frogs suddenly--" She made an expanding gesture with her hands. "And they were so-- so aggressive! I don't understand how they could have gone from tiny and docile to enormous and cruel so quickly." Aithne chewed on her lower lip. "Do, ah, do we think this might have something to do with the trunk incident? This is the second time something unexpected like this has happened."
"Well, apart from nearly getting my leg bitten right off by a freaking frog I'm all fine now thank you very much Aithne." Aelyn answers, his attention then right back at Aurora. "It seems we have a rather nasty prankster on our hands, we'll see what the genius Urzmaktok comes up with. But this should defintely go into the Star Arvol." He says after a moment, turning to Arvol. "Don't forget to include yourself this time though." He says with a wink.
"I really didn't do much," Arvol says to Aelyn. "I mean, you and Ambre are the ones that were attacked. But it would be nice to put a bit of background into the story."
He looks around, again trying to find Rosie. She was the one that first approached them about the frogs. Hopefully she knew something of where they came from.
"Didn't do much? Your modesty knows no bounds my friend. The way you gallantly skewered that monster frog was extremely skillful. You really must teach me some of your fencing techniques if this is going to continue." Aelyn says with a chuckle, but then looking around to see if he can spot Rosie.
Ellina sighs, looking around at the disheveled lounge. "Well, I'm glad you're both alright, but... dammit, this'll take a while to clean up. That's the last time I let first years sneak animals in here!"
