"Don't worry about it here and now, but I'd speak to someone about it tomorrow." The smith says to Stor. "For now, as long as at least one of you has your team's badge, we can get started." He glances to Eboko. "The badge gets you one thing, and one thing only, for me to engrave your team symbol on any metal gear you wish it on. Any gear you wish to use in the trial must have your symbol on it. For non-metal gear though you will have to go see the Artisans for them to put it on leather and such." Turning to Tel'ure the Smith nods. "I have arrows you can purchase if you want, though you won't want your symbol engraved on those, as arrows, and other ammunition, don't need the engraving to be used in the trials. It also would be a lot of effort if all the teams wanted that done, so we just don't do that type of engraving."
Turning to the group of you the Smith smiles. "I am excited to get to work on your symbol. This gives me a chance to do something other than the normal drudgery that is smith work. Something fancy and a bit artistic you know." He looks to each of you. "So, have you decided on a symbol yet?" he doesn't wait for a response as he continues speaking. "Decide what your Team’s all about, and convey as much of your essence as possible in a single, simple image. If you all have something in common or something that stands out, that’s a good choice too. For example, if you live inside a volcano, your symbol could be a volcano. Or if everyone on your Team is a wizard, the symbol can be an arcane one, or a grimoire. Have you thought about the name of your Team? Maybe you can illustrate that in your symbol. Or what about your Specialization—maybe something related to that?”
Eboko says “we need to consult- some of us have only just met each other. Symbols and glyphs are very important for my people. But I will defer to my companions on what should be ours.”
The smith takes whatever symbol you agree upon and accepts any weapons, or other metal gear, that you wish to have it engraved on. He tells you that the gear will be returned to your rooms within the hour.
What Next
You leave the smith and can either head on to your room or head to the Artisans to see about getting the symbol engraved on your leather and/or wooden gear. What do you want to do?
Corgretor purchases a new set of scale mail armor and has it engraved, as for his primary weapon, he simply summons it up and includes the symbol on it when he does. (Pretty sure it works that way with Pact of the Blade?) Afterwards, he returns to his room.
Eboko is quite concerned about ensuring everything that needs to be engraved is- he’s worried about his backpack, asks the smith about his crowbar and even climbing pitons. He leaves his armor and sword- all metal items with the smith for engraving and then goes to the artisans for the soft items.
Those going to seek out the artisans find the door to the Artisans’ Workshop locked, with a handwritten sign that says: “Back in a few hours. Our staff is out getting supplies to attend to the incoming Teams. P.S. We asked the officers to put our leaflet about flag design in each room!“
Your Room
(OOC: The leaflet is the flag document on the Discord you all have had access to already.) In your room you find that it is a suite with a central common area and five private sleeping chambers. The large central room has a window, which is currently open, with a stiff wind blowing in through it.
Tel’ure leaves his bow (metal frame) with the smith and goes to the artisans. Finding them away, his eye twitches as the anger takes hold again. “A few hours. Didn’t go through the penumbral fighting bushes and monsters to be held up. Tch.”
He stomps off to his room for about an hour to cool down (short rest) after which he returns, noticably more calm, to help design the flag.
Koit offers his scimitar to be engraved almost as an afterthought, not really thinking he will have need of it in the trials. He's planning to have his shield and hide armor marked by the artisans, but as they are not there at the moment, he moves to the rooms offered to the team. He will help with the flag design. If that ends up finishing before the artisans are back, he'll ask one of the soldiers around here if there is any place to fish nearby.
“What about a set of scales, balancing books for knowledge and a sword for justice?”Stor looks to the others as he prepares his equipment for the smith. He leaves his war hammer, mace, shield and chainmail, reminding the smith gently to not disturb the holy symbol of the God of Courage embossed on his shield. With his load lightened considerably, and no need for the artisan, he heads to the rooms, in search of the healer that was promised there. “I must rest before we continue with whatever surprises these trials hold.”he mutters to the others, still angry and irritated.

Stor
The healer arrives shortly after you do and, using a cleric spell, heals you for 12 HP. Your more grevous wounds close and heal over. You are still tired and sore, but feel much better.
Everyone
In the room you settle yourself to rest for a bit, and discuss the options for your flags. The wind blowing in through the open window is fairly intense, fluttering your clothes and making any parchment you try to draw upon blow around a bit.
Requests for going fishing, exploring the fortress, or anything else, are turned down with firm, but gentle, requests for you to remain in your chambers for the night. The guards who speak to you let you know the other teams will be arriving at some point here. They would like everyone to just settle in for the rest of this evening and night. You are not locked in your chambers by any means, and no guards are placed on your door.
After about a minute of deliberating on the flag drawings, Tel'ure walks toward the windows, unable to concentrate. He looks outside a brief moment before shutting them.
Eboko returns to the room and says “thanks for closing those windows. Well, we should decide on a flag design, it appears the artisans won’t be available for a while.” He studies the provided information.
Corgretor wakes early and gathers the others together, "It looks like we really need to get this flag done today, and earlier would be better to make sure we don't get our work lost in the crowd with everyone else coming in. So, who's got a good design? I'm assuming our emblem in the middle with the scales in green, the books in blue, the sword in red and have it with a white background? Maybe with a thin yellow-gold trim?"
Stor wakes the next morning, refreshed and no longer feeling the effects of the anger and irritation from the day before. He finishes his morning prayers and devotions, then joins his companions in the common room. “I think that is a fine flag, balancing our mission of discovery with justice and protection” he nods to Corgretor. “Any sign of these other teams they spoke of last night? Do you all think we have time to explore before the trials?”
He rubs his chest as he remembers something is missing "And I will need to find a replacement for my team symbol."
Eboko, dressed and ready, has spent the morning studying and a few minutes meditating on a large, intricately patterned scroll, finally rises and puts the scroll away, and says “flag idea looks good. I need to get my other items inscribed, I’m going to the artisans- you may join if you wish..”.
he heads back to the artisans to see about getting the symbol on the rest of his gear.
Tel'ure closes a notebook with something he had been writing inside. He glances over at the flag. "Such symbolism appears... appropriate, yes. I believe it will do. Perhaps we can see if the other teams are around and get an idea of what we face."
He follows Eboko to the artisans and smiths, to get the symbol put on his armor and swords.
As you go to leave your room you find that the door does not open more than an inch. It feels like something is blocking the metal door from opening... What do you do?
Corgretor sighs and shakes his head as he finds the door blocked and leans towards the crack and calls through, "Hello out there! Is this how you always treat guests?"

Next Mmorning
You all have a rather comfortable night. Everyone can take a long rest. What are your plans come morning?
Corgretor wakes early and gathers the others together, "It looks like we really need to get this flag done today, and earlier would be better to make sure we don't get our work lost in the crowd with everyone else coming in.
