Reign, that 17 to attack already included the -5 penalty. That's why it only shows a +3 instead of Josiah's usual +8.
Josiah's initiative: 5
Also, iirc, since Josiah is Lv4 now, doesn't Mr. Wannabe-assassin elf also have to make a Con Save against the arrow or be stunned for the round as well?

(OOC Alright! Gonna attack Male Elf. I'm also assuming that another one of our group is within 5 feet of him, so I am going to use sneak attack in addition to my attack. If that is wrong, disregard the sneak attack)
Tyrvan felt the spell pass over his body. He flexed his fingers around his dagger as he focused his eyes on the male spell casting elf.
With a snarl he closed the distance between himself and the elf, lashing out with his dagger.
You do have advantage on the hit Tyrvan, In case of a Crit.

Not sure what is up with the Dice warning Tyrvan. I know your original hit was 14 so we are gunna go with that. Going foraward if there is a dice warning on the post, Please explain why it is there. If there is no explanation It will be treated as a automatic miss.
The Male elf grunts with pain as Tyrvan slides his dagger threw the white robe and into His torso. Leaving a red stain on the robe as you pull the dagger free.
The Female elf Uses her bonus action to command the Giant to attack The being who just struck their ally. She then nocks a arrow and lets it loose at Josiah, WHo had revealed himself.
Attack 16 Damage: 8 Piercing
The Armored giant leaves Brystel and bounds towards Tyrvan, His steps thud loudly on the air as He rears back with the large maul and strike at tyrvan.
Attack: 27 Damage: 10 Bludgeoning + 7 Lightning
His maul erupts with Electricity as it swings threw the air. Bringing it around for a second strike at Tyrvan.
Attack 25 Damage: 12 Bludgeoning + 5 Lightning
Brystel gets a AoO on the Armored giant as he leaves melee with you.

Tyrvan crumples to the ground after both brutal hits from the giants maul.
(OOC: Not sure why it says manipulated dice rolls. Edited the post to add in that I had the advantage on the attack...I guess when you edit any post with dice rolls it re-rolls?)

Brystel, your dagger barely even scratches the Thick armor this individual is clad in.
As Tyrvans now Unconscious form slumps in front of the massive individual, The Armored Half-giant Turns his attention back to the Loud dwarf.
Imras, your turn.
Just so you guys are aware, These People are Considered Secondary antagonists. They have a base level and were not meant to be fought this early in the campaign. The DM advises caution.

Tyrvan, when you edited the post, did you change the rolls themselves so you had advantage? Just adding to the post doesn't usually give a dice warning, I've been doing that a lot to comment whenever I get a bad roll, so that shouldn't be the problem.
After watching the armored figure swing its electrified maul twice at Tyrvan, Josiah suddenly has a BAD feeling about how this fight will go...

This is the second time you've mentioned getting to something earlier than you anticipated. Are we skipping steps we're supposed to be taking?

No this is one of the Set up points for the campaign, You were always going to see this group; Thats why Imras,Tyrvan and Brystel saw the trees being knocked down on the Second day. Fighting them is a bad idea at your level.
(The DM is trying to say Run away or surrender cuz you cant win this fight yet. They are all several Levels ahead of you.)

Ooc: the male elf was stunned so you had advantage on the attack (check to see if you crit). So sneak attack would apply because of advantage anyway.
