Tyrvan decides to go back for the piece of parchment that he saw when the trap was sprung. “Not sure if this is important or just a piece of cheese...” he begins to try and read He parchment in the dim light.

Tyrvan the parchment is somewhat brittle but surprisingly still legible, It reads.
"Mother, The men have finally accepted me as one of them. It only took 6 months but I feel like I am finally being looked at as a member of the crew, not as a piece of meat. Granted I am still religated to deckhand duties, largely cleaning and making sure the others are hydrated. I look forward to when we make dock in Heriton, After six months I long to feel ground under my feet.
Your Beloved Daughter, Delilah."

"Nothing of worth. It's just a letter written from one of the crew of this ship, some girl named Delilah. Seems this ship was bound for Heriton. Methinks it was just a piece of cheese set to spring the trap...and I was just a stupid mouse." Tyrvan hands the note to Brythel while shaking his head. "Someone set the trap too. Quite a bit of work."
Tyrvan goes to inspect the blades and twine used in the trap to try and determine how long they have sat before being sprung.

Tyrvan, you first eye the large chains. These are heavy chains, meant for dropping and pulling anchors, they easily weigh over 200 pounds a piece. One chain has a guillotine like blade attached to the bottem of it, the blade looks like it is relatively new. It has no wear or tear. The chain looks weathered and rusted in places, it has seen use at Sea.
The second chain at first looks ordinary, Inspecting it closer you discover thousands of tiny spikes all over the links of the chain. They dont look that painful but there is a glisten of greenish liquid from a few of them.
The Twine is new, that is for certian. It is unworn and looks like it has never seen use outside of this trap.
Your best guess, This trap was made over time and it took multiple people. You estimate 3 people working at the trap for 4-5 days could set this trap up. Or one large person in 2 days, You remember the Half-giant you encountered. He is large enough to pull this endeavor off.

You look about the crew quarters but cant quite explain the feeling of being Watched.
The hairs on the back of your neck are standing up, The feeling does eventually fade but you are definitely feeling a little paranoid right now.

Tyrvan lets the piece of twine fall from his fingers. " Watch the chain. It's poisoned. Looks like this trap was set fairly recently. Either took multiple people," he pauses "or that giant that nearly took me off this plane of existence. In any case, it would have taken more than one day. This was definitely set in the hopes someone would trip, or someones," he looks at the size of the blades and chains, "or something. We should be extra cautious. You don't set a trap like this if you're not hoping to catch something. Not to mention this might not be the only one on the ship."
Bean pipes up, "wow, that line of logic actually makes sense, guys if this much care went into trapping the place, the primordial thinks if something else is here, it would be using us as a mine sweeper so to speak. Let us do all the work, then swoop in and take what they want at the last second" bean pauses. "I'm paraphrasing, cuz his comment was more like an insult on us being so easily manipulated, but the idea stands"
"Might do us good to set up defenses of our own to atleast warn us if something is coming, dunno what we could use though"
Imras, the door opens fine but as soon as it opens a inch. You hear a click and the 3 iron bands fall to the floor before you. A Green mist floats out and swirls around you.

The Poison mist catches you as you are just breathing in, You inhale the fumes deeply before you have a chance to react to it. It burns your nostrils and air way as it fills your lungs you begin to cough loudly and hard. Your eyes start to water as you fall to one knee, trying desperately to clear your lungs of the poison.
