The other weapons could be used but they are severely rusted and you do not know if they would be durable enough in their current state for any sort of conflict.
The door is not considered part of the Crews quarters unfortunately.
Brythel, the lock to the cage door is part of the door itself. It is not a external lock, you would know that there is a very little chance your gun could break a lock like this. While it is possible it is only a small chance.
You would also know that at this close of a range to a target, You would have trouble containing the actual bullet to the point of impact you would want.
Basically you would have Disadvantage on your attack roll.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Brythel takes a few steps back (5ft) "speak an objections now or forever hold your peace" if no one objects Brythel grits his teeth together (spending a grit point to gain advantage) takes a shot at the lock
so from what you said I can't tell if the disadvantage is from the lock or close range so
basic role 10
advantage if allowed 21
damage 13

Marvarax andSora (Dragonborn) The retired fighter and WIP scholar - Glory
Brythel(Dwarf), The dwarf with a gun - survival at sea

Viclas Tyrin(Half Elf), Student of the Elven arts- Indrafatmoko's Defiance in Phlan
The deafening sound of Brythels gun clings to the ears of everyone in the room, It travels far beyond the ship. There is a flash of sparks as the bullet connects with the lock, It does strike but there is no visible damage to the Lock at all. This thing is hardy and built to withstand cannon fire, a single gun shot will do practically nothing to it.
Brythel at this point you come to terms with the fact that the Guns are just out of reach for now.

"Well, we now know that won't work, and anyone within three miles now knows we're here. I suggest we try to move along as quickly as possible."
Just a heads up, but I'm going to be out of town from now through the weekend, and where I'm going doesn't have reliable internet. Reigntail, you're more than welcome to run Josiah while I'm gone if you need to keep things moving.
Brythel, you do not find any thin that even remotely resembles a key in this weapons room. You do find a couple rusty nails.
Torla, make a perception check.

Imras the blade has a fine sheen to the metal, the grip is some kind of leather-like material. The guard is what interests you the most, carved in painstaking detail you can see runes and what looks like words in Elvish. It reads.
"Forever shall my edge stay sharp, Thoroughly I will rend flesh from bone. I am the reckoning to those who would starve the light." There is a Makers mark at the end of the Inscription.

Torla, you are having a lazy day in the warm sun of the beach. Laid back in the shade, Regularly checking on Leo. Yin is busy playing on the beach and Korrigan is continually prowling the area, On alert.
Your peace is brought to a end when you hear a Very distinct and recognizable sound come from the direction of the Pale Willow. The Sound of a gun shot.

The nails are, at our best guess. a Little less then 1 centimeter thick, They are not the usual boat nails you would see on a ship. Boat nails are usually 6-7 inches long and almost a inch thick.
These look more like repair nails, used for nailing boards onto damage sections of the ship.

Torla walks a little ways out onto the beach and toward the ship (not more than 30 feet away from Leo) to see if she can see or hear anything — smoke ... people screaming. She clasps her holy symbol and prays for her comrades.
Torla you swear for just a moment you can see someone standing on the deck of the ship, You blink and the figure is gone.
There is no screaming or yelling, no signs of smoke from the ship. The wind is slowly starting to die down and the flag is barely waving anymore. The sun is hot today, very hot.

Tyrvan the nails Brythel hands you are crude and bent in places, they are barely straight but could act as lock picks.
To pick a lock with the nails, 1d20 + dex modifier. No prof bonus because they are just nails, not actual lock picks.

Interesting. This blade has an inscription that says it'll always stay sharp. Must have some kind of enchantment on it. And something about being a "reckoning to those who would starve the light".
Bean listens to Imras, "a blade that always stays sharp is a hell of a find, and that inscription sounds awesome." bean takes the second shield down off the wall to carry for torla. Briefly he contemplates weilding both. But decides against it.
Bean continues to look around, was there anything else in this room, besides gun locker and weapon/shield rack?
Ooc: was there only one way into the weapon room? Cuz bean might look through the next door if there is one.
