"Torla, it wasnt anything sinister, josiah was watching our backs. But the spirit locked him out of the room. I would have been locked out too had i not phisically handed the key over" bean assures
Torla raises her hand to her face, spreading her fingers across his forehead. "Josiah ... I'm sorry." When she uncovers her face and looks at Josiah, tears are once again beginning to run down her cheeks. She looks at the sky, blinking madly. "I can't seem to do anything right today."
OOC: I'll mention the axe after Torla fishes the foot out of her mouth.

OOC: Torla didn't read the runes; Reigntail just told me about them. But I'll insert a post between #2467 and #2468 and then respond to Tyrvan's question as well.
Torla looks gratefully at Brythel. "Thank you, brother."
Her eye is drawn again to the axe in Tyrvan's hand. She can't help but notice and even softly reads the Dwarven runes. "By a Dwarf's hand forged. By a Dwarf's hand thrown. This Huntsmen will always return." She lifts her eyebrows. "Interesting."
Tyrvan looks from Torla to the axe and back as he hands her a waterskin. "What did you say about the axe? Was that a riddle?"
Torla takes the waterskin. "Oh. Er, not really a riddle. I think it's instructions." She recites the inscription more loudly. "I guess if the axe is thrown by a Dwarf, it will somehow return to the thrower. I don't know if it means figuratively or literally." She takes a drink from the waterskin.

"As much as experimenting with new weapons is important, I really think we should get moving," Josiah states gruffly, mildly annoyed as Brythel throws his axe. "That creature with Leo's body could be back at any time and we have hardly any water left."
His eyes get slightly softer as he responds to Torla's concern about Korrigan.
"Best I can tell she sprained a joint while trying to take a drink from a shallow creek over there," he motions in the direction of where the small creek was, "but it doesn't seem serious."
A flash of inspiration crosses Josiah's face as he glance back the way he's just come. "Actually, we could probably USE that creek. It's really shallow here, with steep banks that would make it tricky to refill the canteens and waterskins, but we could possibly follow it a bit further upstream closer to its source."
Brythel you lob the axe with all your strength in the direction of a tree. It hits the tree but from the wrong end and bounces off harmlessly, landing in the sand with a soft thud.
It dosen't move, it just lays there.
The DM forgot this while you guys were aboard the Pale Willow, There 4 waterskins in the weapons room. I'll say you grabbed em because of my mistake.

Torla walks over to the axe and picks it up. "Josiah's right. We need to get going. I have some experience with axes. It isn't my preferred weapon, but let me see if I can figure out how it 'works' when we have a little down time."
OOC: I'm hoping you all don't mind, since Torla's without a weapon. And I'm pretty sure it needs to be attuned before the "magic" works.
Torla you pick up the axe and while you prefer a mace, The axe feels like it belongs in your hands. It is a well balanced bearded axe, Clearly of dwarven make. A Simple wooden handle with leather straps for grip. There is a rustic look to the axe head but it is still deadly sharp. At about 3 and half feet long, It is longer then a traditional axe. There is something itching in the back of your mind, A lingering thought that makes you believe there is more to this weapon then meets the eye. That you would have to spend time with it to learn what it is truly capable of.
Thus everything is right in the world, The axe I made specifically for Torla is in her hands.

Bean agrees. "If korrigan and you found a creek close by, then i say that. If its not up to snuff then we head to the spring."
Ooc: curiosity rearing its head here. But you were pointung out that the blood on the blade was shining. And when torla first saw yin's corpse you said it shined. Did bean see that too while burying yin?
Actually Bean saw that the blood where Leo had been laying, was shining.
