Even with the low investigation rolls, at the very least you'd find a single damaged arrow, discarded on the ground, that matches one of the wounds on the still-mostly-intact wolf. (Hope Reign is okay with me sharing at least that much.)

Torla, I had you all make a perception check when you came to the grasslands. Your first check stands as the info you can gather. Which is, there is a lot of grass that is high above your head.

Torla sighs as she measures the sun's progression. "I'm afraid we're not going to make it back to our cave tonight," she says to the others. "Truth be told, I'm a little wary of our cave after what happened with Erik earlier. We're going to need to eat, and we left the meat behind. The cubs are especially going to need to eat. Is one of you willing to carry one of these wolf carcasses? I'd volunteer, but I'm afraid I'm already running out of steam very quickly." She reaches out and drops a hand onto Bean's shoulder, saying in Gnomish, "Thanks for not saying 'I told you so' earlier."
Bean touches Torla's hand on his shoulder . in gnomish "im not the kinda gnome to say such things"
Bean goes over to the wolf carcases. "These will taste pretty Gamey. My favorite" he tries to see if it would be better to just take a leg or something
"A haunch of wolf would probly be enough right? Maybe a Haunch per person, each carry a cut off leg and prep it if we need to make camp"... Bean thinks for a second. "But thn again if we are trailing meat for food we might attract more trouble. You know what if these wolves are more akin to tiny field cats in this islands food web"
Bean look to everyone. "What you guys think? Haul more for food and risk attracting something big? Haul some (cut off legs) and move decently while carrying food stuff and maybe attracting something or prep some now, eat, feed the cubs, and just head out while loosing some time?"
Bean looks down at the ground and kicks the dirt. "I dont like that i agree with you demon". Bean looks up to the group. "Sorry, i talk too much"
As you talk about the cubs Torla, you realize you havent felt them move for quite some time. With a sense of panic running threw you, You look into the bag. You find relief at the fact they are sleeping soundly. Bundled next to eachother, the Cubs are breathing slowly and sleeping peacefully.
Erik, 30 minutes seem to go by incredibly fast. Your sure it wasnt actually 30 minutes because the closer you got, the faster you moved. Its a welcome sight to see the makeshift door to your home, The rickety wood is held together by scraps of clothing and rope. Korrigan runs into her door the small board latch waves back and forth as she enters. Walking into your home, The Smell of earth and honey strikes your nose. with it built into the side of a hill, your walls are mostly comprised of dirt and it keeps the place relatively cool. all your belongings are where you left them. Your dried meats are still nicely tucked away in the corner next to your fruit pile. Korrigan has already lid down in her bed, A Mix of cloth and leaves.

What if we take a break here and cook up some of the meat to eat instead of trying to haul it with us? We're clearly well behind Erik anyway, we'll be no use to him or ourselves if we pass out from hunger before we find him.
Erik takes a seat on the makeshift stool next to the pile of leafy fronds and scavenged fabrics that serve as his own bed. For the briefest of moments, it feels good to be back in the place he's called home for so long.
Then his eyes turn to the collection on his wall and he has to fight to keep from wretching at the memories it evokes. He'd decided long ago to keep it, as a kind of testimony to his actions and the lives lost because of them, but now...now he could only feel shame and revulsion at the sight. Something in these past few days had changed in him, of that he was certain, but he couldn't be sure to what extent, and that worried him. Just because he seemed more able to resist his affliction now than at any time in recent memory didn't mean that state of affairs would last.
His face grim, his thoughts turn to what options he now has. Does he dare to think he might finally have a chance of ending all of this? He feels closer than he ever has before, but that doesn't mean he's close enough...
No one(Besides Erik) is really a "Experienced" Hunter. So the quality of the meat is up in the air. Bean you do note that the wolves are fairly small and skinny. The only real meat would come from the back legs and shoulders. The Wolf that is torn apart, the teeth marks mostly lie within the wolfs innards. Its heart,Kidneys and some of its intestines are missing. Those parts can be eaten by People but would require it be cooked very well before consumption.

"I hate to give up pursuit, even for a short time," Torla says, looking at the sun again. "But the later it gets, the less I feel we're going to catch him today. I'm also a little worried about water."
It is getting late in the day, The sun is starting to go down. you have roughly an hour of sunlight left. You could try to find Erik during the night or make camp and try again at first light.

Torla closes her eyes. "Father, I pray your protection over our friend, Erik. Wherever he may be, guide his steps and clear his mind. Calm his heart. Rest his spirit. And if you see fit, let him know that we are concerned about him and wish to be reunited with him. I pray for wisdom as we near the end to this day, your day. Protect us, lord, as we seek to be your servants." She opens her eyes, a look of absolute peace on her sun-kissed face. "OK, what are we doing?"
Unfortunately no, You havent seen any kind of water since you left the cave.

Bean points to the wolves. "Well it looks like these two wernt really the most fit creatures the only meat on them is the back legs"
Bean walks to torla. "You said you can pull water from the air in an emergency right? If we dig a hole to put it in and ive got my coconut shell bowl/cup for us to use."
"So do we camp for the night and continue?"
As bean uses his short sword to carve some meat off the eviscerated wolf for the cubs and takes it to torla.
"I can't create water today, but I can prepare for that in the morning to use tomorrow."
OOC: I made a few poor choices when choosing spells today. I'll try to do better after our next long rest.
"Since we're considering eating these wolves, let me make sure they aren't diseased." Torla sits down between the two carcasses and bows her head. After 10 minutes of silence, she opens her eyes.
