"I mean getting a new bandit group together and raiding others."
Lanky grins "Well our 'not so tough' group did take down all of your men, so what does that make you? Even if you thought we weren't together, why did you think we wouldn't fight back?
Though um...we do need to work on tactics a bit." Lanky shrugs. "Ah well I still had fun."
Lanky turns to Elirion "Um...I have an idea where it might be? Um you see the one that was just shot down most likely been going to the camp. Er it shouldn't be too far from here, since they saw us come in and er it would have to be somewhat disguised. Perhaps in the woods nearby in that direction? After all...um ....if you are going to be downed and you know a hiding spot that has all of your stuff, wouldn't you go to it?"
Elirion turns to Lanky, examining him more closely than she has before, "I wouldn't; I'd go some other direction and circle back. But you are right -- he did not seem like the brightest spark in the smithy, did he?" she chuckles and turns back to the Captain, "So ... what do you say? Will you tell us where your base is?"
As she is speaking, Gabin's words draw her gaze briefly, and her brow furrows, "I'll leave you in my companions fine and gentle hands..." she says with a slight smile, glancing at Lanky, "...and if you are not cooperative, then they can call on me." She leans in close and the smell of death and brimstone briefly fills the air around her, "Think on it" she says in a whisper.
When she is done with the Captain she walks over to Gabin, and speaks quietly to the rattled young Aasimar. "I am sorry I left you to fend for yourself, but you seemed to handle it well." She waits a moment before continuing, "Among my people some of us have foregone any hope of a clear conscience, let alone honour; we do the things that others do not want to do, so that their hands may remain clean." She looks around at the dead bodies, the blood beginning to pool and its iron smell mingling with less savoury smells rising from the corpses. "You know what keeps us going? Knowing that the world tomorrow will be a better place than it was today. These ones..." she waves at the bodies strewn across the market, "...they made their choices long ago. They wrote their own fate in the blood of unknown and uncounted innocents."
Tastie - The bandit looks at you and scoffs, “Your group here isn’t as tough as you think. We didn’t realize you were all together or we wouldn’t have attacked. And honey, you aren’t as beautiful as you think you are.” (As for insight, he said those things about a mark in the air with Lanky, so only he heard it)
Tastie
Tastie slaps the brute across the face, "Jealous. Hmpf!" And then she walks off to Bandit D, ripping her crossbow bolt out of his still-corpse and will begin to search the bodies for valuables, notes, money, and anything else worthwhile. Since it doesn't look like she'll get her revenge on Captain, she's sure the others will fill her in later.
As he is slapped, his eyes widen and spits out some blood. "That's why we brought so many guys, anyways it doesn't matter. You bested us, obviously. As for telling you where my so called lair is?" he looks at Elirion and Lanky with incredulity, "Well, that isn't going to happen. I have a family and I'm not leading you to them. Do what you want to me, doesn't matter anyways." and with that all his piss and vinegar is gone and he hangs his head.
The villagers see that the threat is gone and start cleaning the place, and bodies, up. They also close up their shops and start heading home.
"Are you through with me now? You can keep my weapons." The bandit captain whines. As Tastie is looking at the bodies before they are taken away, she doesn't find anything but the scimitars and crossbows they were using.
"So you are telling me that you do not have a base? And we are supposed to believe that? If you aren't going to tell us where your base is then what can you give us that is worth your life? Something that is not on your person, because it's ours now." Lanky looks at the others "I doubt there are going to be any guards since he attacked inside the town when there are many people up and about. That or he is very, very stupid. This town also seems like it would have a jail that would fail to keep him in, and I doubt he will turn a new leaf and actually be a benefit for society. I suggest either taking him with us or putting him out of his misery."
Lanky turns to E'lar. "Um thank you, I needed that."
Remi takes a long, sideways searching look at the bandit captain. “Your usefulness is diminishing by the moment. I hope you know what that means for your … longevity.” He pauses, considering. “Say, do you know anything about Vermeillon, disappearing miners?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Tastie wants to survey the area and see if there is anyone watching what is going on with the bandit captain, someone who's eyes linger a little longer than passing interest...She doesn't know what is going on with them and the captain. We can just let him go and tail him afterwards, she thinks to herself.
When she is done with the Captain she walks over to Gabin, and speaks quietly to the rattled young Aasimar. "I am sorry I left you to fend for yourself, but you seemed to handle it well."
Gabin looks up at Elirion's words. "Oh, this?" he says, touching a gash in his side that hadn't quite closed yet. At his touch, the flesh begins to glow and knit itself together, leaving behind a faint pink scar and a light bruise after only a second (healing hands +4 hp). "It's nothing. How about you? Are you hurt?"
Elirion:
"Among my people some of us have foregone any hope of a clear conscience, let alone honour; we do the things that others do not want to do, so that their hands may remain clean." She looks around at the dead bodies, the blood beginning to pool and its iron smell mingling with less savoury smells rising from the corpses. "You know what keeps us going? Knowing that the world tomorrow will be a better place than it was today. These ones..." she waves at the bodies strewn across the market, "...they made their choices long ago. They wrote their own fate in the blood of unknown and uncounted innocents."
Gabin calms a bit. "Thank you for your thoughtful words. I'll... I'll be fine. I suppose this is the first time I've been in an actual fight. My training just took over, which I suppose is better than freezing up. Now that it's over though, I'm left to process." He wrings his hands, though their tremble is gone. "I came here expecting to protect people from spirits and the dead, not to create more of them. But you are right. What we have done here is not a bad thing, I think."
Gabin grabs her hand and pulls himself to standing. "You'll have to tell me more about your people sometime," he says, brushing himself off before turning to approach Lanky, Remi, and the captain.
"We have already crushed their band. What few of this man's people remain alive seem to have abandoned him. He is captain of nothing now. What's more, it doesn't look like Tastie has found anything of value on the dead. And for them to so brazenly attack in the middle of town, they must be desperate. I doubt we'd find much of value even if we did track down their base of operations. I say if he can tell us anything useful about Vermeillon, we leave his judgement in the townspeople's hands. Though..." Gabin turns to the Bandit leader, "... You can be sure we will be back in town soon enough, and we are in the business of solving complications. So I recommend not being a complication."
The bandit captain is clearly knows he has been bested. He is showing no more signs of life as he stands there, still tied, waiting to hear his fate. At the mention of Vermeillon, however, his head snaps up. "Why in the nine hells would you want to go there? Not that you care about my opinion, but you don't seem to be from around here and I wouldn't recommend visiting that place" he says the last word with disdain.
If Tastie doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary, she'll chit chat with the flower lady a bit longer, mentioning Vermillion again and trying to get any further information about the town (she whispers the town name in case anyone is listening). "My friends heard of this town in a book and we thought we might check out the story to see if it was true. They told me it was a great tragedy but not much else is known...Lukas is also from there - did you know that? Did you also lose your wife or husband there too?" She tries her best to look sad and sympathetic...
Tastie - Sorry I missed responding to the fact that no one seems to be acting out of the ordinary, everyone just wants to go home and is packing up. As you start talking with Astra, however, she perks up. "Now, that flower does look good in your hair, so glad this fighting business didn't make it fall out! I did know Lukas is from Vermeillon, though he hates talking about it. My husband however, loves talking about it and asks me questions all the time. See, I grew up there, my husband I met here in Maerin. I remember good times in Vermeillon for the most part, of course until the big explosion. After that, I mainly remember sadness and then the nightmares. I didn't get them, thank goodness, but my poor mom did."
she rambles on a bit until she mentions the nightmares and her whole demeanor changes and gets quiet. She then looks around her, "Well then, looks like we have some cleaning up to do, do you mind helping miss?"
"Aah, so you do know something." Gabin leans in. "Why shouldn't we go there?"
"It's a cursed town I tell you! I could send you there for what you did to me and my crew. Actually, I take it back, go there, its a splendid resort, it does have a platinum mine after all!" the bandit captain remarks back at you angrily.
She obliges but tries to pry a bit more. “Oh no I hate nightmares. There’s this one I have where I can’t control myself and I just pee in front of strangers! It’s terrible! Did your momma tell you about them Astra? Maybe I could talk to her about them? I don’t want new nightmares and it could be helpful- maybe we could end the nightmares! That would be cool! “
Astra looks at Tastie with astonishment. "Oh dear! that does sound like quite a nightmare, I hope you don't have that one often!"
As Tastie asks about Astra's mom, she gently pats her on the arm and says, "My sweet tiefling, my mother is no longer with us. She died about 10 years ago. And luckily, I have never been plagued with nightmares, I just dream about flowers." she thinks on it a bit more, "Now that you have me thinking, her nightmares did stop once we moved to this little town."
“Sounds like you reaaally want to go there, hmm? Tell us everything about the town or you will come with us to that place.”
"Bah, you can't make me. I ain't going. I don't know what to tell you other than that place is haunted I swear. Go anywhere near it and you might get nightmares. I didn't, but some of my crew did. Ever since then, we stayed clear."
Remi pulls out his dagger, turns to the bandit captain, and then stops. He turns to Gabin, saying gently, "Uhh, Gabin? Are you sure you want to see how we .. urm" he looks back at the captain and points his dagger at him, "make the sausage? I really don't think you want to see where this goes. Perhaps you could, uh, take a little walk? Take in the scenery?"
