Missile worked and emboldened Irmiel repeated the attack, raising the level this time:

Once again a slash of silver runs through reality and the shambling things collection of branches seems to deflect off of it, swinging wide of Sistri.  Meanwhile, she reaches and and grabs, and with her size and might is able to drag Stallock from the pile of weeds. His muck covered body lands with a thud next to the thing as his mouth opens and lets in a massive, gasping, wheezing intake of air...before letting out a breath as a shuddering cough.  Groaning, he rolls to one side to spit out a load of mucky dirt. 

Llwyd, and Kris are up.

Kris places a foot on a branch of the giant shrug and yanks her blade free.  She hauls back and once more plunges the tip into the bush!

As the battle continued Llwyd thought about unleashing Faerie Fire. That, he knew, would make hitting the enemy much easier. But then he reminded that this particular spell required total and continuous focus, exactly like Enlarge did. It was simply not possible for him to keep both of them at the same time and taking into consideration the possibility of someone else being trapped by the living vines, the druid decided it was better to keep Sistri in her giant form. What do I do now? He pondered as the paladin pulled Stallok from the enemy mouth. Answer enough.

The man was hurt, although the satyr could not be sure how much. He considered using Healing Spirit, but it seemed more prudent to avoid spending all of his energies at the start of a confrontation. Totem in hands he stood no further than sixty feet from the guide, eyes once again emerald and glowing.

“Take cure!” He said channeling the vital energy of nature itself towards the human. As the simple healing was administrated the fey ran towards the enemy and thirty feets from it raised his right arm, this time calling upon a fragment of earth’s fury, releasing from his palm a thorny whip before retreating as fast as his breath allowed.

Notes: Llwyd uses his bonus action to cast Healing Word in Stallock (moving closer if necessary to be on reach), then his action to cast Thorn Whip on the monster (once again moving as necessary/if possible) and without using the pull effect even if possible. If any movement remains, Llwyd backs off as much as he can.

Kris jams her sword once more into the huge bush, while Llwyd eyes flash green while he shouts towards Stallock.  He seems to let out a breath of relief but, as he's covered in mud and bits of greenery its tough to say if any wounds heal up.  Then Llwyd whip lashes across the creature. 

The creature seems to turn it's attention to Kris, with her blade stuck in it, and tries to whollop her two times.

Stallock seems to push himself to his feet, backing away from the creature and then stumbling a ways back.  He reaches to next to where he'd been sitting, picking up his longbow, and looses an arrow, then another one, at the creature.

Everyone is up!

Sistri moves to take up her longsword and shield again. (If she can grab both.  If only one, she will grab the longsword.) She charges in, slashing at the plant creature.

Stallock was finally out and Irmiel dared to try something else this time: Tasha's Mind Whip for 11 (Int save DC 15 for half and no effects)

Kris bends over as the wind is knocked out of her by a thick branch that connects with her solar plexus.  Remembering her training, she focuses on her breathing and stills her heart, re-centering.  She tucks and rolls to the side, springing up to deliver two strong thrusts steeped with magical energy!

(Second Wind, BA to regain 5 hp.  Non-action to use Action Surge to gain an additional action for two attacks.)

The druid knew that giving support from the rear was far more complex of a task than to go into the offensive, but he couldn’t have imagined it was that much harder than taking the form of a beast and tearing the first enemy in range. The strike of the whip was precise yet meek, barely causing any damage. Maybe attacking vegetation with vegetation was not much of a good idea. At least, he thought, Enlarge helped. Stallock was covered in… Llwyd didn’t even want to think what and that made practically impossible to know how hurt the man was.

“Do you need further healing?” He asked the human that brought retribution towards the monstruous plant with a couple of well-placed arrows. It was enough to make the satyr wish, if for a moment, to learn archery. “If anyone needs recovery, be sure to tell. Anyone besides you.”

He said to the plant monster, unsure if it could understand his words. The girls were all but ensuring that the plant was being hurt more than anyone else. Maybe I can help this too, he thought raising his hand one more time and whispering arcane words. Another whip of vines materialized, moving against the enemy. Please do good damage, Llwyd wished almost praying to Silvanus.

Notes: Llwyd moves so the enemy is on range and casts Thorny Wip again and not using the pull effect. After the cantrip he uses his remaining speed to walk away from the enemy.

Spell Attack: 9
Damage: 4

Sistri and Kris are both hacking at the mound of greenery to good effect, sending chunks of wood, muck, and greenery flying.  But the thing is massive and somehow continues to move, shrugging off Irmiel's attempt to spell it. 

Llwyd's action.

The creature manages to struggle on, though it's clear it's losing steam. Still though, it seems intent on capturing another creature, and swells forward, battering Kris and attempting to pull her into its mass of roots and branches. 

Attack on Kris: 24 Damage: 16

Attack on Kris: 19 Damage: 10

She manages to batter away the first branch using her shield, but the second slams into her.....but not enough to pull her into its grasp. 

Stallock continues firing arrows into the mass....

Attack: 8 Damage: 8

Attack: 13 Damage: 10

But his arrows deflect off the thing with little effect. 

But before the creature can muster much more offence, the combined attacks of Sistri, Kris, and Irmiel manage to put the thing down....it being on its proverbial last legs.

The mound of vegetation stops its shambling and settles to the ground with a heavy sigh....becoming nothing more than a pile of compost. 

Stallock gently places his bow down and then sits heavily down to the ground with a grunt...holding his side. His body badly scratched and bruised..and covered in mud. 

"That sucked..." is all he says before beginning to check on his wounds.

With the creature's last attacks on Kris, Sistri moves to put herself and her shield in the way of the attack.  (Assuming a strike hits, Reaction to use Interception: reduce damage by 12 hp)

"Dead?" The curse died out signalling better than anything else that the creature was indeed dead. "What was it?!" Irmiel walked closer to the pile of leaves and carefully kicked the "body" with her boot. Then kicked stronger and bend to take a closer look. "Guess we are taking a rest?" She glanced at Stallock and returned to studying the "compost". "You think it has some useful parts? Or something in its stomach if it swallows the travellers?"

It's not like she wanted to loot any dead body they were coming across, just tried to be rational. And it's not like the looting monster was marauding anyway.
