As they're packing up to break camp, Lady Kaede calls out to Ro "I speak Celestial, and Friend is translated to Sceck...sorry, lots of rounded letters that might be difficult to carve!"
As they start their hike, Kaede attempts to mirror Rum by walking lightly, hoping that she won't stick out so much as she's had in the past, but her heavy armor often times clangs as they march onwards.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ro nods at Rum's suggestion to carve the word friend in multiple languages and nods a second time as Kaede teaches him the word in Celestial. Just before the party continues their trek through the Underdark, Ro asks each member what languages they know and how to spell friend. He makes a mental note of each spelling for later.
During the hike, after a long period of deep introspection, and constantly looking over her shoulder to see if the red lizard beings are following or not, Kaede announces “I wonder if we’ll run into any dark elves down here? One of my older brothers used to tell me scary stories of them when I was a mere child, attempting to scare me. I always found them rather intriguing, though. Stories of their prowess in battle…worthy opponents…and giant multi legged spiders. Real spiders, and not those mechanical monstrosities we battled earlier. It all sounds fantastical!”
OOC: You all likely take her youthful exuberance as innocent inexperience showing through. She’s just a little teenager who hasn’t experienced much of life outside her family’s castle walls.

Jek lights up at the mention of dark elves. "I've heard stories of dark elves from my brothers and other travelers as well! But I mean, Shirin was a Drow, always complained about the sunlight. He was a very good fighter. But yea, spiders and underground cities of darkness and lights! It does sound amazing! But here we are now! Do you think they actually are matriarchal societies that worship spiders? They are suppose to have weird magics, too..... Well, I suppose I have weird magic, too, so I can't exactly comment on that. This is very exciting! This is definitely some place new!"
OOC: Jek has no clue what a teenager is. He has learned baby, child, adult, and elderly. He is matching your energy about going to a new place you've only heard stories about!
The world rumbles, and the Ardent Remnants feel the rumbling as it rolls across the ground beneath them and up through their bodies. Those with hair finds that their hair begins to stand on end...and then a cold wave of air rushes over them. This air is not just cold, its absolutely frigid...
"I don't know whether to be excited or scared....I've only seen snow from afar, up in the mountains that ring my father's province. It's beautiful, yet frightening all the same." Kaede whispers to the hiking group. She adjusts her hakama, bracing herself against the sudden onslaught of cold.
Rum stands in front of the group looking like a puff ball, his fur standing on end making him look enormous.
He starts to smooth it down as best he can.
”It is perplexing, Lady Kaede”, he replies. “This truly is an unusual land, snowing underground is not something I expected. But we do not know if this is normal, the earthquake and the snow”, he says the last looking at Ro, whom he believes is the smartest amongst them.
Snow underfoot should make stealth more difficult, but that is true of others as well as them. Tracks would be easier to see and follow.

Ro looks up at the snowy spectacle, "I've seen many oddities in recent years. But snowfall in the depths of the Underdark is not one of them."
His eyes squint a bit as his gaze pans across the Underdark's 'sky', searching for anything that could be the source of the snow. Ro raises his arm to eye level. He observes as the cold specks of white fall on his purple skin, as if staring hard enough at them would pose some sort of answer.

Regardless of the snow, Rum carries on their trek, continuing to scout every so ofte, and frequently climbing stalagmites to try and get a better vantage point.
"I certainly do miss Herbs and Spice and the wagon right now, fellow Remnants. And Keg would make fast work of this journey too", he says idly to no-one in particular.
The Ardent Remnants continue their trek through the underdark, stepping along the warn bottom of the world. Camping is the same bizarre affair as the first night as their bodies refuse to adjust to the only place in Hyboria that is now darker than the surface world.
Every 'night' the music gives an encore performance, and is louder with each passing day's travel, until, after four (or maybe it's five, it's hard to tell) days the band arrives on a chasm. It crosses the underdark from what seems to be side to side, and it's hard to see how far across it is, though those with keen eyes believe it nearly a half mile. There is no bottom in sight.
Lights dot the walls of the chasm some thousand feet below, and line both sides; it becomes apparent to all who see them that this is some civilization built into the sides of impossibly deep crevice...
Rum looks down into the seemingly bottomless chasm, his keen eyes picking out the spots of light lining the sides.
"Wondrous indeed, Lady Kaede", he replies, whilst he also scans the side for signs of a way down that the others could use. He knows he can easily scale the side himself, but doesn't really want to become separated. He could scout though.
"Civilisation at last, fellow Remnants. But friendly or not", he muses.
"I could climb down and take a look. It might be easier to spot the path from below as well", he suggests, moving to the edge about to go over the side.
Wo-Dan steps to the edge and leans out to take a look.
"I have a way we can descend more quickly. However we will need to ride double to make it work."
Wo-Dan withdraws 3 cards from a pouch on his belt. He then tosses them to the ground in front of him where they dissapear in a puff of smoke. In front of the party appears a Pegasus, a Dragonnel, and a Griffin. Wo -Dan approaches the Pegasus and mounts it.
Rum disappear over the side for moment before returning.
"I see no sign of a way down, fellow Remnants. I do see a lot of what look like balconies and some rope bridges that span across the chasm", he says, just as Wo-Dan tosses the cards to the ground.
A wide smile crosses his face as the flying creatures appear. "Remnant Wo-Dan, you are indeed a marvel!", he says complimenting his new companion.
Seeing Lady Kaede mount the Dragonnel and wave Ro to join her, he wanders over to it, reaching out to place a palm on it's head and speaking to it in draconic. "Noble dragon, protect my companions on our journey".
He then turns to the griffon and carefully approaches, "Now you are magnificent".
"Do they have names?", he calls across to Wo-dan as he reaches out his hand to the griffon's neck.
Jek has been unusually quite during this last week or so. Between the new sights and sounds and... everything, it has been the first somewhat peacefully time that has given him time to reflect on what has happened. The tower of the elephant. The ivory tower. Celestia. Aughra's observatory. So much has happened in such a short time. So much was lost, so much was found. And now, they are in this odd twilight land. He hopes the others are doing well.
During this time, he still practices the spell he was working on. It will help keep everyone safe, he knows it.
As they get to the chasm, he snaps out of his stupor. "Wow! There is a civilization down here! That's amazing. I wasn't sure we would see anyone other than the lizards." As Wo-Dan produces the cards, Jek is amazed as the creatures that come to life. This world is still full of marvels, thinks the shade.
He says as the others get on there mounts "Ummm.... Who should I go with? I'm pretty light..." Looking at Wo-dan and Rum, he does some quick calculations in his head, and then goes to Wo-dan and the Pegasus. He looked heavier. And they can always adjust if needed. "Does anyone need help seeing in the dark? I think the Bright Lady might be able to assist with that."
As they take off, he watches the others closely. If things look dangerous, he will Bless them with the grace of the Bright Lady.
"Bright-wing is a fine name for a Pegasus, Remnant Wo-Dan. It is an honour to be given the chance to name your griffon", Rum replies to Wo-Dan.
"For you, noble griffon, I think Barley will suit", he adds, stroking the newly named Barley.
Mounting up, he looks across to Amitola and reaches down a hand to help her mount. As he does so he throws a question out to the other Remnants, "If we have the means to fly, do we need to stop here? We could continue on our journey, but it would mean missing the chance to gather information and possibly additional mounts".
"The Pegasus does, Her name is Bright-wing. I have had no cause to name the others yet so you may feel free to do so."
To Jek, reaching down to help him mount "I can not see in the darkness myself but I always carry a light with me. My master trained me well."
Jek, responding to Wo-dan "Your masters are very wise, but the Bright Ladddaaahhhh. DARLA. You can fly! You do not need to ride as well!" As Jek was speaking, Darla tried to jump between him and Wo-dan. At Jek's rebuke, she hisses and snaps at him, then flies down.

To Rum's question, nursing his hand from where Darla bit him. "We are charged with retrieving the Shard, but also learning what has been transpiring in the underdark. I think we need to stop and learn about what has been going on down here. But that is just my opinion."
