The fairy, they appear to have a flutter of words as much as they have a flutter of wing and fist. And the fact the subtlety of her question was not picked up - she is going to chalk that up to everything going on and hope the little fairy is a bit more intelligent. As they talk to her, they seem to want to ask something, but don't. She waits till they answer Aoe's question and is about to ask.. then Kerwyn takes over.
Shavaris's mouth literally drops open as he speaks. First, on the fact that he just told this stranger everything that is happening without a wisp of concern that maybe this fairy isn't who they say they are? And once it should have been over, he beats the dead horse and looks beyond proud. It was more than she could handle. "Kerwyn."she takes a deep breath and a second to control herself, "I think you've over done it a, well a bit. And yes, we are all so proud of you for bearing the AURYN, but can you please" she has to take another breath and is gritting her teeth a bit, "Refrain from taking it out from behind your shirt? Thank you."
As the rest sing and enjoy the evening, Shavaris finally decides she should probably eat with all the stout she has had for the night. She is a bit of a lightweight, not one to partake so much in drink, but well, it has been quite the night. As she tries some of the beans, she spits them out and gags, "These beans, they are rancid. Have you guys tried yours? I don't know how far we are to our destination, but I hope the food here can last the trip for everyone."
She decides enough is enough and says goodnight to her crew and heads to bed.
The trip remains mostly uneventful, save for the occasional appearance of the other band, now affectionally known by the passengers as the Poo Crew, in their quest to rid the ship of the vile Golgothan. The following days pass without further incident, and the sea remains calm. Their last day before port starts with both suns coming up and beating down, hot and bright on the deck of the Hollyhock. The crew spent a lot of the day talking about getting to port, what they were going to do, how glad they'd be to tie one off in the Whichaperch taverns with locals, and how glad they would be to get the gross, weird Poo Crew off the boat.
The animals, including Old Ironsides, seem to grow restless in the belly of the ship. It seems paramount that they get offloaded in the next day or two before the Flail Snail goes berserk and tears his stall and the grooms to shreds.
They galley ran out of good food with less than twenty four hours to spare before docking, which makes things a little more tolerable considering the circumstance, but there is only so much that can be said about salt bacon and boiled rice.
Johnathan’s “friendly” attitude drops at the mention of that name. The Lord of Darkness. He keeps his composure but remains very quiet for the rest of the night. Johnathan decides he has had enough fun for one night and decides to head up to the quarters.
For the next 15 (?) days Johnathan falls into a regular pattern. He decides to stay up at night and sleep during the day. He wants to have someone constantly awake in case a ghost is sighted. Also this would be a nice break from the sunlight since he doesn’t often get the time to sleep during the day. Johnathan spends most of the nights alone, with an occasional snoring from one of the members. He spends this time to reflect on himself. The last few days have been a lot to take in for Johnathan.
He made an enemy of the Skullsplitters out of fear that they would betray the Dawn Guard, he bullied an old man because he thought it would be funny and most shocking of all he has started opening up to members of the Dawn Guard. Johnathan wants to be that fun, life of the party kid again. He wants to be able to fully trust someone, anyone. During these long lonely nights he meditates on these thoughts. He listens to the boat sailing and the snoring and just tries to achieve a clear focus (OOC I’m training for observant, since it feels like something that he would gain from meditating a lot. 12 hours/ day).
The meditating also helps keep Johnathan distracted by that growing hunger in him. Being confined on a boat with no wildlife to hunt meant that he had to ration out his flask very wisely. Near the end of the journey Johnathan looks very sickly and weak. He struggles to walk around as much and spends a lot of time in the quarters away from the mounts and other people. He can’t stop his arms from shaking, and his eyes are permanently fixed to their red tint, which he disguises when interacting with crew mates. Johnathan also takes extra care to avoid the fairy. He didn’t want to scare them this early on. All in all, Johnathan has a very quiet and enlightening journey for the next few days.
Delphinium having finally met the heroes they sought now finds that the fairy can enjoy the boat ride. Truth be told, It's the first time they have ever been on a boat. It was quite exciting for them to just explore and greet folks as they fluttered about the various areas of the ship. They often ask about an item here or an item there. The first couple days its like a new world for them, they definitely end up finding the captain and spending time on their shoulder. As long as Delph isn't brushed off they end up asking the captain a lot of questions about the boat and sailing in general. All in all, Delphinium looks like someone discovering the world for the first time.
The initial days wonder of their new environment eventually wears off and they try to seek out and talk with the heroes they have found. Wanting to learn more about them the fairy will share a bit of their own life. It would quickly become apprent that Delph will not eat meat of any kind but seems to need a different source for protein. They manage as best they can despite the horrid beans that were way too spiced to the point they taste rotten.
They avoid the poo crew for the most part but when they see them the fairy sticks their tongue out at them and makes faces at them. The other passengers Delphinium asks various questions about where are they going? what do they want to do? Anything dangerous where we are heading? Do you know anything about our destination? How long does this boat ride last? Any good stories you know? Can we get off the boat now? Are there other fairies? Are we there yet?
Any of the heroes who wish to listen to Delphinium will be rewarded with tales of forest life and growing up with their mother and sister in the Kokiri forest. Tales of their powerful druid mother who serves the Great Deku tree. As well as other tales of animals, elementals and nature that Delphinium has learned to coexist with. Questions about their father are almost instantly avoided and redirected. Questions about how they do what they do is met with stories of master Monaciello and learning how to meditate mixed with fast movement and pulling from your own inner energy.
Delph's typical daily routine becomes apprent as they appear to be working on some key feature of their combat style. As curious as their method of fighting is it appears similar to martial arts in many ways but arieal and fast. When they don't have big blue glowing fists out its more a rapidly dashing fairy moving around at high speeds. The exercise seems to favor dashing in and out with them throwing a quick punch or two. They also seem to spend time every morning meditating which is odd to see from the fairy as every other time they seem like a little blurry ball of energy constantly doing things.
At night they seem to stay up late. Upon close inspection they seem to be writing or drawing something in a tiny book but whenever someone approaches they close and hide it immediately. They don't seem to like the cushy beds to sleep on but rather use their druidcraft magic to make a flower grow for them to lay down on at night. They seem eager to help the heroes but if nothing is needed they seem to bounce from activity to activity, person to person until the day is done. Over all, Delphinium definitely adds a lot of energy to the trip.
Shavaris finds her way around the ship quickly and learns where to be and where not to be at the right time. She doesn't have any interest in running into the Poo Crew again, you can smell them coming a mile away, and she really doesn't want to run into the captain again. She typically stays away from those in authority.
Finding her routine onboard, she finds Aoe and notices that he is working on learning a war casting ability. She asks if he wants to spar and turns out it works really well for him, so he suggests a couple times a day. She's thrilled as not only will this help her with her offhand rapier, but she's hoping to understand how he fights as well. Honestly, back in the cave, didn't he just hide behind a cart? She hopes this helps him as well.
While they are sparring their first day, both Delph and Kerwyn watch for a bit and offer their assistance as well. Shavaris is thrilled. She feels this is one of the best ways to get to know a person and spending one on one time with almost all of her party is not something they have been able to do so far. Especially Delph, she wonders about the little guy, in some ways she wonders if the energy they exude is going to drive her nuts.
She ends up splitting her days in 3 hour increments - 3 hours in the morning with Aoe, then 3 hours with Delph. Breaks for lunch, 3 hours with Kerwyn then 3 hours working on her stealth, creeping around the ship.
The Hollyhock sailed into Whichaperch in the middle of the next day, just after noon. The port was busy, with ships rolling into and out of the docks at a much higher rate than what was going on at Timber Place. Multiple warships, most of which had the symbols of the Eternian military and especially the Pyke naval forces, patrolled the harbor and docked and undocked. The waterways were busy and crowded.
The crew quickly began the unloading process as soon as the ship was moored, hauling out the mounts and carts and offloading as much of the passenger's cargo as possible. Only Old Ironsides gave any of them trouble, and he calmed as soon as they started stuffing chunks of mushroom in his mouth.
Speaking of mushrooms, the tops of the Mushroom Forest was visible just beyond the rooftops of the town and the farmlands beyond.
It was at this juncture that Ralik Two-Knives had to bow out of their journey, at least for a little bit. Bidding his friends farewell, and vowing to find them again if his journey would allow, he set off with Running Bird, riding through the town to find his own way.
The boat ride was near frantic for Delph at the end. They loved the new scenery at first but by the end of 15 long days of travel at sea with nothing but water and waves to look at they were very much ready for something new. The long time being confined to the ship seems to have built up a reserve of tension. When the port town came into view Delph was ecstatic with excitement and zoomed around the head of Shavaris saying "The port! The port! The port! We made it to the port! Oh! look at all the ships! Wooh! That one is bigger then ours! We should definitely get on a bigger boat next time. That way we have more to explore on the ship! A bigger ship is better for games too, like hide and seek or tag or fairy ball!" as the ship gets closer Delph is a bit impatient and like a rubber band pulled taught with tension Delphinium shoots off like a spring and it's not even docked when they zoom over the side of the ship and fly into the port town harbor.
They do keep the ship and their allies, the Dawn Guard, in sight not going too far away from the others but otherwise seem fascinated with the surrounding area. They flutter around the harbor like a darting point of light from a laser pointer zipping from one ship to the other checking them out and inspecting them. Zooming around the docks both over and under them in a display of aerial speed and accuracy. They stop to inspect any open barrel, box or crate while flitting around on their wings. This seems to keep them within sight of the others until the ships crew begins the unloading process. The fairy was quite excited to be in a new place surrounded by strange and wonderful new beings. It seems they have been holding their energy in for quite sometime while trapped on the ship and now all their excitement of exploring a new land and meeting new people seems to explode. They introduce themselves to multiple strangers saying "Hi, you can call me Fireflight! Its a cool name right? I'm seeking the unicorn. Have you seen it? Where are you from? Do you live here?" They spot someone on the docks near the ship that seems important. They are talking with someone but Delph just notices that they seem to be giving orders and directing people. Obviously an important person to talk to! Delph zooms over to them in a flurry of speed and says "Hey! Hey! Listen! I'm trying to talk to you! Helllllooooo!" they completely interrupt this important looking person who was talking to someone else until the fairy began to buzz and fly around them. If they look at them, no matter how annoyed the seem, the fairy immediately asks "Where does one find information about missing unicorns! We are on a quest to find one!"
As they see land Shavaris is relieved. She isn't sure how much more she can take of the crazed fairy as its pent up energy is reaching its limit. She is also worried about Johnathan. He is looking more frail and pale by the minute and appears as though a breeze could knock him over. She debated giving him some of her blood, but since he has said he's never taken blood from a person, she doesn't want to give him the taste of it.
She helps Johnathan leave the ship however she can, being an arm to lean on, carrying his pack, just so they can leave the ship and heads over to get her elk. She watches as Delph shoots off into the fray and is happy to be rid of them for a bit, just a break. She's happy that he's joined them, but man, an elf can only take so much. As they leave the part area, she sees them talking about the unicorn to anyone that will listen! This will not do, what if they alert ones that are sworn to the Lord of Darkness?? She grabs an empty sack by some vendors and sneaks her way over to where Delph is trying to get the attention of someone who looks important.
Stealth 20
Then tries to bag the fairy before Delph knows what's going on. If it works, she will smile politely to the person the fairy was trying to interrupt, and bow out of there.
Johnathan is momentarily blinded when seeing the sunrise as they leave the boat. He hasn’t seen the sun in days and almost forgot how irritating it is. He weakly walks off the boat, with the aid of Shavaris. Thanks Shavaris, just need to get a bite to eat. He smilies at this. As the Dawn guard wait for their mounts and companions Johnathan leans on a wall nearby, casually resting and having a moment to himself. That’s when his ears hear delphinium. Johnathan drops his jaw in disbelief. Oh you’ve got to be kidding me. Johnathan looks at Shavaris holding the bag and sees her intention. Johnathan will look around the area to see if anyone has taken an interest in their conversation, especially in the mention of the mare. Unfortunately the sunlight was hurting his eyes which made to harder to see.
Kerwyn gives a big stretch and then walks down the gangplank and off of the ship, glad to have solid ground beneath his feet. After he disembarks with his gear, he heads over to Old Ironsides and checks on him. He guides him away from the wood that is being offloaded and joins up with the rest of his companions.
During the rest of the voyage he worked with Shavaris and the others on his battle techniques, first with his great sword, then with a halberd that was lying unused in the Hollyhock’s armory. He considers this new weapon, how to control space around him in battle, how to slice anyone that would get within 10 feet of him. The days during travel on deck were taken up with battle forms with this new weapon. At the end of the voyage, Kerwyn offered to pay the Captain for the unused halberd as it was just taking up space in the corner.
Kerwyn guides Old Ironsides over and laughs as he sees Shavaris sneak up on Delph and pop the bag over the fairy’s head. “C’mon you guys, let’s get out of here before we cause anymore mayhem. I’m unfamiliar with this port, I travelled a different path before. Which way do you think we should go? We should head toward the Faron Woods as soon as possible, right?”
Training : 40 hours with Shavaris and the others with his great sword, Great weapon master feat.
Afterwards, he becomes interested in the halberd and use of that weapon to control space on the battlefield. 50 hours of halberd and Polearm Master feat training.
The rest of the time he played mumbleypeg with his dagger on the deck of the ship until one of the crew spotted him and made him stop.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Whichaperch is alive as Dawn Guard moves through the streets. There are people of all races everywhere. There are Elves and humans and even Goblins living their lives. There are Halflings and Gnomes parading the streets and more than a few Tortles and even some of the Lupine race. At one point a troop of Thri-kreen acrobats went flipping down the road in almost perfect synchronization to display...what? Their coordination?
At one point, the Poo Crew sauntered past Dawn Guard on their way inland. The Dwarven warrior tries to look as mean as possible. The rest try to back him up. The Bard just hides his face like he could burst into tears again at any moment. They slink off into the wilderness of bodies.
There are posters hanging in the street for some circus performance that is supposedly scheduled for that night. Probably has something to do with the Thri-kreens. A Tiefling follows them blowing intricate shapes from a pipe; a dog, a horse, a castle. The smoke forms the shape then dissipates away.
They walk past a Leonin and a Minotaur arguing over the cost of a haunch of cured beef in the market. It sounds like there is going to be a fight.
A steady stream of wagons carrying mushroom logs file into the city. They're always passing on the roads, heading toward the port.
Delph wasn't one to waste time. Delph very much wanted to find out more about all these different races and people, but they had a quest to complete so they immediately got to work asking people about the unicorn instead. His intent to find out more about the area and leads on the unicorn was a bit crass but they knew it would be efficient and time was of the essence! Delphinium was not having much luck but they had a good feeling about the important looking person. They definitely have shinier clothes then others around here right when Delph felt they would get an answer Shavaris sneaks up behind and puts Delphinium in a bag! the fairy is very confused at first as they try to figure out what is going on. With no explanation spoken to them Delphinium immediately jumps to conclusions and says "Hey! Is this a bag! Who put me in a bag! You must be a cowardly agent of the Lord of Darkness!! Have at you villain! I'll show you what for you monstrous being! Undoubtedly you heard me seeking a way to thwart your plans! I will rescue the unicorn and stop your master!" The tiny fairy begins to try and get themselves out of the bag. At first it is quite easy to keep the tiny fairy in the bag as they try their best to break out but their tiny size doesn't leave much chance. "I will give you one warning villain! Let me go or face my wrath!" The tiny fairy seems to stop struggling in the bag and this is because they begin to focus inwardly ready to fight this attacker.
"Monstrous being? Shh.. Delph, its just me, Shavaris. Hang on and I'll let you out." Shavaris takes the bag over to the side so they aren't within the throngs of people and sets the bag down. She kneels beside it and before opening it up, "Fireflight? I'm sorry I stuffed you in a bag, can I let you out and we'll talk about this calmly? Will you stay here so we can discuss why I stuffed you in a bag? I'm a little worried you're going to dart off and cause a scene and we can't have that. I am sorry I offended you."
As Delphinium hollers his challenge at Shavaris they gets a quick response. The voice of Shavaris causes Delphinium to lose their concentration in confusion and so the fairy doesn't immediately start punching the forces of evil. Instead they reply "Shavaris? Oh! There is a reason to put me in a bag? I can't really think of one. Are you sure you're not an agent of darkness? As long as you are who you say you are I promise not to dart off and cause a scene when let out and I will hear your reason for why I was put in a bag. As long as there is a good reason to put me in a bag so suddenly then I will not be offended. I'm sure a noble hero from the Dawn Guard has very good cause to do such a thing." As the bag is set down for Delph to get out they leap out with their tiny fists up and ready to fight but upon seeing Shavaris they smile and says "Ah, good. It is you! Why ever did you place me in a bag?" they give their friend a questioning look.
Shavaris tilts her head a bit as she smiles at the little fairy. As they look at her quizzically she finds they can be kinda cute as they look at her with that face and she lets out a sigh. "Fireflight. You were letting the whole world know we were looking for the unicorn. I know your intentions were good, but what if you had alerted someone that actually was working for the Lord of Darkness? Let them know we were here? What would have happened?"Shavaris pauses and then continues "I know you think I should have just asked you to stop, but well you should have seen yourself, there was no asking! and I didn't want to make more of a scene arguing with you publicly about it." she shrugs her shoulders"So well, I did what I thought would work best. Again, I'm sorry I offended you. Can we be a little more discreet? Our mission is extremely important and we have to be careful."
Delphinium true to their word listens quietly and intently. They gave their word they would after all and it's important to keep your word! As they listen they nod and seem to think for a moment then they say "I see. You are afraid. I understand! I'm sorry you have so much fear to deal with. We will have to kick the butt of some of those working for the lord of darkness so you can see they are nothing to be scared of. Until then I will respect your feelings and be a bit more discreet as you suggest. However, if we are to find information about the Unicorn shouldn't we be asking? Is there a discreet way to ask people who may know where it is? I do not mind changing my method but we must work fast to save the unicorn and my home. What way do you suggest we gather information?" Delphinium looks to Shavaris for instructions.
Johnathan walks up to the conversation and listens. He is almost impressed with delphinium’s confidence, but those words nothing to be scared really threw Johnathan off. After all he has seen he knew what they were up against, yet this innocent fairy clearly doesn’t. Delphinium, you shouldn’t be so quick to underestimate our enemies. They are powerful and unbounded. They do don’t fight fair, they do not care for this world. They have agents everywhere, at all times. We need to not draw attention to ourselves. Johnathan gives delphinium a pat on the shoulder. Don’t worry about it Delphinium, I’m sure we will find it. Let’s just try not to announce ourselves to our enemies.Johnathan turns to the others.
We need to make plans for the journey ahead. I would like some supplies before we head off. Also this might be the only chance we get to trade for a while, might be worth looking around.
As Delphinium calls Shavaris a coward, her mouth slightly drops open in shock. That's one I haven't heard before she thinks, and she wipes her hands on her knees without a word and stands up. She gives Johnathan a thankful look while he deals with the fairy.
"We should probably get ol ironsides away from the main roads with all this mushroom logging going on, I'd hate for another spectacle to deal with. Otherwise, maybe find a room? Will be nice to finally sleep on land. But you're right Johnathan, supplies would be good as well as sell some of the things we have acquired. Also.." she amusingly watches the acrobats and others go by, "I wouldn't mind stopping by the circus tonight if we have time." and eyeing Delph, "Maybe there will be some there that look safe enough to inquire about the unicorn."
Delph continues to listen and seems to look at Shavaris with genuine concern. As Johnathan informs Delph of all these enemies Delph shifts their attention to them and nods saying "I will admit I know little of city life. Are cities truly such places that evil gathers? They are everywhere in places like this? Shouldn't we fight them now? I'm ready to fight the forces of evil at anytime!" He pauses as he looks around for the forces of evil and after pauses asks "How would you tell which is evil or not?" Delphinium continues to look around for an "evil" person but upon seeing none shrugs and says "I don't see any right now." At the talk of a shop and circus Delph's eyes perk up with a bit of excitement. "Oh! A shop and circus? I have ten gold coins I bet I can purchase a lot with it! Hopefully lighten my load. So, for a circus there will be lots of animals right? Do they help run it? I've never seen one. Oh! Maybe I'll see a friend or two from the Faron woods in it?"
As Delph becomes distracted with tales of shops, circuses and other curiosities of city life he lands on Shavaris' shoulder if they let them (otherwise they flutter nearby them). The tiny fey seem to be keeping a keen eye out for anyone "evil" as the Dawn Guard travels through the harbor. Delphinium definitely wants to help Shavaris feel more safe so they will keep an eye out for them to protect them. While they protect their new friend with a keen lookout for evil. Delphinium listens to the others about what to do in a city. It is a very foreign place to Delph after all and they find it fascinating!
Ward notices the commotion of the fairy is bagged and then released. Casting invisibility on himself and moving closer as he hears the discussion of the Unicorn. Ward begins trying to sneak over, a trail of leaves following behind as they leave his body and lose invisibility. When he gets next to the group and sees people looking behind him he'll look at the trail of leaves behind him and sigh a bit before turning back and dropping the invisibility.
"You are looking for the Unicorn yes? It seems I may have found some allies in this then." Ward, a 7-foot tall Warforged, vines covering the metallic and wooden body, interwoven with dark blue trails almost like vines crisscrossing parts of the body. A set of metal goggles cover the spot where the eyes are, and a cloak that shifts with the color of the background before Ward makes a small motion, fixing it so that it returns to a leafy texture and bright green.
"I am Ward, forgot that part." He says with a laugh, reaching out his hand.

What would have happened?" Shavaris pauses and then continues "I know you think I should have just asked you to stop, but well you should have seen yourself, there was no asking! and I didn't want to make more of a scene arguing with you publicly about it." she shrugs her shoulders "So well, I did what I thought would work best.
