"We could try the basement.. but well, I bet it would get ugly and probably wouldn't get the chance to work on pillars with all the enemies we'd get inundated with. I like both ideas of crawling around inside undetected by.. did you say ductwork Adam? What is that?"
Looking to Travin, "But I think we could start with this, heading to the adjacent building." Then Shavaris turns to Dag, "if there are people there willing to listen, maybe get them to call in the humans? Then this building could maybe be battling on both fronts, humans from the outside and hopefully us from the rooftop. Good, Johnathan, let us know what you see. I'll start looking around as well and if I see another of those creepy eyeball things, it isn't just this building Vigo has his talons in."
Adam turns to Shavaris and says “Egghead over here told me about it. I saw it in the library, blowing air through the whole place. I thought to myself, Self, wouldn’t that be a great place to hide and crawl around in, unobserved and so forth? And so it came to me when we were talking about sneaking all around the place. Some of us couldn’t sneak into it, or would make such a bang clank sound that it wouldn’t work.” Adam turns and looks at Travbot. He turns back to Shavaris to see what she thinks about sneaking in.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Travbot, after turning back from Nakatomi, now starts heading to the tallest adjacent building with his clones and gives Shavaris the nod to follow along.
Shavaris starts to follow, but as she gets closer to the building, she notices someone very familiar sitting on a bench, reading a newspaper next to a payphone. Sighing, she walks straight up to Severin (I think that was his name, Strahd's lacky), and as she does, he lowers the paper and smiles at her.
"Well, fancy meeting you here. How'd you know we would be here? Or have you been following us?" Once he answers those, she looks over to Travin and a worried look crosses her face. "Can you tell me... what happened with Ward and the teens? One minute he was with us and I think the teens were outside, and then he said he'd be back and well... I'm pretty sure you know how they were delivered."
Travbot stops as his attention is brought to Severen. He pulls out a set of red dragon scale armour and hands it to the travclones distracting them from seeing the man just yet, then approaches Severen and points off away from the plaza, "the Ghostbusters have been taken by the cops, they are beyond our reach, but not out of Strahd's, do a little digging around and they're as good as yours. No need to involve us further. Now are you going to leave or am I going to kill you here and now for what you and yours have done?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Johnathan watches as Shavaris makes an approach to a figure on the bench. When he hears the name of Starhd he decides to call Echo back and scout the area to make sure there isn’t an ambush nearby.
Severin keeps grinning that way that he does, and then folds his newspaper before adjusting his sunglasses. Because that's who he is. He's the kind of guy that wears his sunglasses at night.
"I've been following you." He says. He then purses his lips and thinks for a second. "Well, sort of. I did lose you for a bit, but after that library bullshit? Followed you straight to the church and then just waited for you to leave and come here. I'm surprise you could go in there."
He points his chin at Shavaris, indicating her specifically.
"Being a vampire and all. Or well, mostly a vampire at this point. But then I suppose not having succumbed to undeath yet, and the fact that religion here isn't the same as in your world, probably has something to do with it."
He listens to her question as Travin begins to approach, but remains seated and, apparently, calm.
"I'm a bit fuzzy on some of it man." He says, running his fingers through his hair and getting comfortable. "I don't even know where he came from. He was teleporting or something. I didn't see all of it, just kind of the very end. From what I gather, he teleported into the boss's vault and started stealing shit. Huge sums of money. Artifacts. Important stuff. He then tried to use it to bargain for your lives. You and Ralik. Made a bunch of threats, stuff that Strahd knew he couldn't make good on. He tripped alarms when he showed up in the vault, so the guards caught him pretty quick, Strahd showed up, and then Ward, your friend, started making threats he couldn't make good on and Strahd knew it. The boss was pretty pissed off over Ward stealing stuff out of the vault, and once Ward had stepped over a certain line, whatever it was, Strahd just flipped his lid and decided to go with a scorched earth tactic. Issued the orders to kill the kids. Turned the dogs loose. Had all the guards running around. There was a pretty awful fight in the garage, but I'll spare you the details. I have no idea what stupid ass thing your friend thought he was doing but boy...it was really dumb. I have never seen Strahd this pissed off before ever. And we've known each other a looooong time."
Severin reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a box of smokes before slipping one between his teeth and lighting it. Then he offers one to Shavaris and Travbot.
"Oh, by the way, just a random thought that was on my mind man. That library fight? The ghostbusters were in there right? Should have let that thing kill them. I mean, just saying what I'd have done if it was me. I would have thrown them right at it and then got the f*#k out of dodge."
Severin looks at Travbot and smirks.
"You know, you can't blame a vampire for doing what is in their best interest. Strahd for instance. He has to protect himself and his whole operation and its future. Those guards that did the deed? When you're dominated by a master vampire like that, you have no choice but to protect them if someone were to do something to try to harm them. Just how the deal works, if you like it or not.
As for the Ghostbusters...it's not on me to alter the deal or tell you what to do. You know what Strahd said and you know the consequences. You lot will have to decide what's more important. Vengeance for those you've already lost or saving those you can still save."
Severin stands up and stretches, before folding the newspaper and tossing it nonchalantly onto the bench. He seems to lose interest in Travbot in the moment. His eyes shift to Dageron.
"Say, let me see that." He says, pointing to something the Hobgoblin has.
"I wouldn't blame dogs for following the orders of a rabid master, but I'd still put them down all the same. Your operation is dangerous to this entire world but I could have excused even that, I could have left you to rule over what's left when we leave, if you'd have just left Gavinout of it..." Travbot claps his hands together loudly drawing the attention of his clones, before continuing. "You give me an ultimatum? Vengeance or saving my friends? You have been pushing around fake people on a fake world, created simply in the absence of substance, it's made you soft. You overestimate your master, he's a goddamn entitled child playing with toys and throwing tantrums, **** your ultimatum and **** you!" At the words '**** you' each Travclone raises a fist sized small statue up above their heads, the middle fingers on the golden facsimiles extended to the sky. Worry flashes across the face of one travin clone as something takes his mind and at the last moment he turns on his clone companion, but a split second before they both release their spells.
Johnathan watches the exchange through Echo after confirming the area is clear. Severin explains the fate of Ward and Johnathan slaps his forehead and mutters. Damn idiot, what was he thinking stealing from a freaking vampire? Johnathan has mixed emotions on this, on the one hand he understands Strahd was defending himself, but still a vampire is a monster through and through. When Travin starts to lose their temper and begin initiating something Johnathan walks towards him. Travin, I know you are hurting but now is not the time for that you hear? We don’t want to provoke this any further. If we break the deal right now then Ralik will die and we don’t know how Shavaris will be affected as well. We can‘t loose anymore people.
Johnathan is doing his best to look sincere to all the Travin’s as he says this. Johnathan then looks to Severin. Thanks for letting us know what Ward was up to. We had no idea what they were doing or otherwise we would’ve told him his being a f****** idiot. I understand defending one self. Can I ask why Gavin was involved in this mess? Did they try stealing too? Johnathan hesitates before asking the next question, knowing that making deals with vampires is not smart. Johnathan leans in for the final question, trying to be quiet about it.
Can you inquire with Strahd if there is a way he can bring Gavin back, like he did Ralik? I understand this will probably be another deal of sorts for this and he will most likely wait until this one is completed to ensure we can honour our pacts. He pauses as he gives Travin bot a glance before returning to the conversation. The thing isTravin has helped me greatly in the past and I would offer anything of myself to repay him.
"Well, since you are here, know of any good ways into that building?" Shavaris indicates the Nakatomi building. "It's crawling with these creepy undead creatures."
Dageron, watching the situation seem to come close to blows, nods approvingly as Johnathan de-escalates things a bit. To Severin, he merely takes a step back, uncertain why he would ever dream Dageron would give up one of his weapons to a stated enemy. Looking back at the task at hand, and the building they intended to ascend to get to an adjacent altitude to the Nakatomi Plaza roof, turns to Adam. In a low tone, so as not to be overheard by Severin - whom he hopes is engaged with Johnathan now - he asks, "Could you return the Rod of Rulership to me? I vow not to use it on our comrades, but we may need it as a tactical option if and when Humans start to show up in force. I believe, no matter what, that is a foregone outcome given our... destructive natures. The Rod may be our only way to escape without fighting them."
Travbot is either too slow or too enraptured in his own rage to stop the two Travclones from completing their spell, even after Johnathan's words.
Energy crackles forward from the more aggressive Travin, consuming the place where Severen sits.
(Abraka****you, 24 to hit, and I need a Dc16 con save or take 40 force dam, 20 on a save)
The other more timid Travin turns at the last moment and his energy beam consumes his clone counterpart in a deliberate act of betrayal. (21 to hit, con save successful, 35 dam halved taken.)
Travbot stands looking at the bench not moving, not breathing... Completely emotionless he answers Johnathan. "The grounds of the deal still stand, even if this one perishes... I'm owed this at least." He turns sharply to figure out where the second blast went and is shocked to see one of the travclones injured.
As soon as Severin sees what is happening, he reaches out and snaps his fingers. The energy that erupts from the more aggressive Travin is destroyed almost instantaneously, dematerializing into the air around it. Severin's eyebrows raise behind his sunglasses.
"Whoa, easy now big guy! Don't shoot the messenger!" He says. Of course, as he says this, the 'tender' Travclone blasts the more aggressive of the pair with the same attack. "Rude!"
As the spells are cast, Shavaris is completely taken aback. Anger rising, she turns to Travbot, "You need to get those clones of yours under control or send them away. They are making things worse when the situation is already very complicated."
"they're acting on my orders, or at least one of them is!" Travbot snaps back at shavaris, seething at both Severen and the reaction he seems to be getting from the group, he then quickly turns his attention to the clones.
The more aggressive clone recovers from being blasted and fully kicks the timid clone over, sending him sprawling across the sidewalk in retaliation, at the same time beginning to yell at his cowering companion for his actions, "yous wanna stays here with them? Hmmm? Too damn attached! Emotional! Yeh yeh! dids Travin forgets that none of this is real? Dids Travin forgets the entire point? Hmm? Those peoples took Gav from you! From us! And you'd side with them? Why!?"
The clone whimpers and cowers unsure of why he did what he did or how to even answer the onslaught.
Adam walks up to Severin and Shavaris soon after she sees him. He starts to talk and lights up a smoke, Adam pipes in inanely “Oh, Marlboros. Like the that guy in the wide brim hat. Hey, didya know it says on the box and the ad that those things will kill you….oh… uh.. right. Guess you don’t have to worry about that, huh.” Then he crosses his arms and listens some more.
When Dageron whispers to him, Adam steps backward, or rather glides, like he saw on one of those TV box thingys. Something called a “Moon Walk”. One of those fellows in a red jacket singing in a high voice and hanging out with kids and scared girls. Creepy. But boy, he could dance. Adam does his best to imitate his moon walk.
Adam says to Dageron “Pssst. Here’s your “punji stick.” *wink* - and he passes him the Rod of Rulership.

Severin starts to back up, getting some distance between him and the chaos that is the Dawn Guard. He finally looks back toward Nakatomi Plaza, then at Shavaris, and shrugs.
"To answer your question- I have no idea. We didn't even know where Vigo was before now." He says, adjusting his sunglasses. He looks at Johnathan. "Gavin? The kids in the van? They were still in the garage with the van he destroyed in his...whatever that was that happened..."
Severin pointed at one of the Travclones...then the other...then looked confused about which one to blame.
"...when your friend pulled his stunt. Poor kid probably had no idea what was happening. But Strahd warned you guys. And your friend. He doesn't f&ck around man. And he doesn't believe in making threats he doesn't plan to follow through on. Also for the record, I had nothing to do with what happened, so, again, don't shoot the messenger, okay? Okay."
"Didn't know where Vigo was before now? Well hey, we've done that for you and you can tell Strahd, messenger boy."
Shavaris looks back to the Nakatomi Tower, considering. She then looks over at the fighting clones and sighs. "Travin, I don't trust those two to be able to get us where we need to be. And we are running out of time analyzing the shit out of the situation. Let's just head in and take over that damn building."
Looking at Jonathan, she asks, "Can you make me invisible? Then I can slip in and take out at least the one we can see then let you all in and we'll go from there?" She starts heading towards the building, whether he agrees or not. Impatience radiating off of her.
To severin, travbot just turns with a glare and asks coldly, "well what do you believe in?"
As he is successfully separating his conflicting clones Shavaris confronts him and then begins to walk off, he looks over to shout after her, "They Are Me! They're exactly me just before the switch. So I guess I'm glad to know that you never trusted me to start with..." The venom and accusation in his voice not guarded or suppressed at all. He turns to the others his eyes glowing a violent red and waits to see where they are going to head.

Johnathan steps in between Travbot and Severin as tension begins to build up again. Travin, I know you are hurting. I know what it means to have your life ruined by a blood sucker. Johnathan stares at Severin as he says this before returning to Travin. But this won’t bring him back you hear. Killing Severin will bring you no peace and will probably get you killed. Gavin wouldn’t want that. Johnathan puts a hand on his shoulder as he looks to the Plaza. Besides, Strahd needs us right now. That’s why he didn’t kill us after the Ward incident. He only meant to scare us into submission when he sent their heads. Vampires are all cloak and shadows, they never act directly often. We can use this to possibly negotiate Gavin’s revival I’m sure, but if we kill Severin then that’s off the table.Johnathan looks back at Travin. I won’t stop you from seeking revenge Travin. But please, ask yourself if Severins death will help save Gavin. Will this truly make you happy? Johnathan will release his hand of Travbots shoulder as he moves out of the way between Travin and Severin.
Persuasion: 18
Johnathan gives a quick glance to Shavaris. I can, but it can work on a few of us. Let’s just calm Travin down before rushing in and wasting resources. Johnathan returns his attention to the Travin/ Severin conflict.

Johnathan gives a quick glance to Shavaris. I can, but it can work on a few of us. Let’s just calm Travin down before rushing in and wasting resources. Johnathan returns his attention to the Travin/ Severin conflict.
