Once again the noises get closer, travin peeks out if his pile, his eyes a burning red and his heart pumping out if his chest, he feels the pressure of a prey animal being chased, he moves once again down through the holes following Shavaris, as she becomes paralysed he watches and attempts to scoop her up onto his pile, before he returns to his hiding place within it, shaking and whimpering.
Travin is able to hoist up Shavaris and place her on his back as he flees, while Dageron carries Adam toward safety.
There is a terrible crashing noise as they go, and the building rumbles. Outside, the night looks like it's shimmering, glittering, as they realize that glass is falling past the windows. Blood and gore oozes down, dribbling through the air...and the Dawn Guard realizes that the thing is now outside, lowering itself toward the streets below...

Johnathan Dageron Shavaris DM Travin Adam DM
It is Johnathan's turn, followed by Dageron and Shavaris!
Johnathan continues to run with the party to the lower floors. He just hopes that everyone is alright and that we haven’t lost already. I can take someone light with me outside the building with my levitation step. What’s the plan here everyone?
Johnathan continues to move down through the holes that they made.
Dageron yells to Travin, "We need Shavaris to scout, can you revive her?" To Johnathan he replies, "We need situational awareness. We're running blind here. At this rate we may be herded directly into another trap - perhaps our last. Down gets us to level ground and more directions to flee in, but we have no idea what is awaiting us there. That flesh monster is reacting to something outside. If Shavaris is down, do you have any means of scouting without being caught?"
As he speaks, he casts a spell on himself (( Action 1: Guidance )), then tries to assess the situation using his magically enhanced clarity (( Free Action: Battle Master Combat Maneuver - Tactical Assessment )). As he does, he tries to keep his speed as the group descends into the lower levels (( Action 2: Dash - 3rd usage of 6 before exhaustion rules kick in )).
(( Dirty 20 to Tactical Assessment: The enemy has the upper hand but split his forces instead of finishing us off. Severin appeared to be working some angle against Vigo, what can Dageron surmise from the situation to affect a safe retreat? ))
As he focuses his breathing, reaching out to his arms and legs, trying to break the paralyzation effect, Adam tries to will his body into moving. Initially he feels like he fails instantly, but he pulls down deep and tries again, unsure whether he’ll ever be able to move again….
Wisdom save (using 1 luck point) : 19
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
A few things seem to happen all at once, and the culmination is utter, uncontrolled chaos.
The building shudders again as the Dawn Guard moves to evacuate. Vigo's pet floats outside the glass, continuing its assault from outside, shattering glass, shaking the foundation, and spewing noxious poison from both its body and its mind as it goes.
The flashing lights of police vehicles below light up the streets, blue lights reflecting off of falling glass like magic sparks. Officers below scream. A car alarm sounds somewhere. A water line bursts. Water fills the air, and there is incomprehensible shouting below.
The ceiling nearby caves in.
There's no time to make wise decisions. The only thing that's left to do is run. Run away from the monster. Run to the nearest of the large, thick windows. Someone throws a weapon. The window splits...and then for whatever reason, be it compulsion, desperation, whatever, the Dawn Guard jump.
What's the worst that could happen, right? They were going to die anyway.
Except they don't.
Only a few of them are airborne when the building collapses, the top few floors caving in on one another to create a domino effect, the building pancaking its way down and down and down. It's hard to see who is able to escape.
It turns out those who have jumped are lucky. Very, very lucky. So lucky, in fact, that a literal, honest to goodness Luck Dragon is catching them as they fall through the air. Someone lands on his back, eliciting an 'oof' from the big beast. Someone else is caught in a powerful hand. Yet another is able to grab the bristling plume at the end of the creature's tail just as it banks and begins to serpentine its way through the sky, fast, so much faster than the hovering horror they leave behind. It undulates, a rolling wave of biomass as it carries the Dawn Guard away from the battle...away...and through a portal...

On top of Travin's junk pile, Shavaris attempts to get out of her paralysis, willing her body to refuse the magic... but fails. WIS save 9.
