OldMan walks over the group. "A little discretion would be beneficial. The townspeople don't need to see us killing tied up and charmed people. We should keep out names good in their eyes. I believe the best course of action is to take him somewhere discreet and dispose of him. Perhaps our new giant friend would like the opportunity to see if his axe can cleave a human head off in one swing. I'd wager a gold coin or two on the distance it would fly. How about we escort him behind the building into the alley behind some cover?"
"Perhaps Sildar will keep this ruffian occupied while we work on his compatriots. Sildar may wish to question him as well. We can always dispose of him later."
OldMan turns back to Wally. "Wally my good friend. We would like you to meet another good friend of ours. Unfortunately we will need to keep you in these ropes. I can tell you they are enchanted ropes. As you wear them they will actually help your wounds to heal."
OldMan helps Wally up and starts to walk with him toward the Inn.
"Perhaps everyone keep their eyes on the street and weapons at the ready in case there are others interested in our operations."
I'd suggest taking him to Sildar at the Townmaster's Hall and then you can head to the Inn for food and rest. As you approach, Sildar emerges. "I see you've made quick work of cleaning up the streets, my friends. What is your intention with this ruffian?"
"We wish to keep this ruffian safe and secure as we deal with his comrades. He and 3 others ambushed us in the street, in broad daylight. We dispatched the other 3, but this one remains. We have convinced him to help us for the time being but that will fade fast. We ask that he be kept secure until our dealings with his compatriots is finished. After that, he should probably stand trial for his blatent mugging. Do you have a facility for his detention?"
"His name is Wally Erendan. If he is convicted of his crimes, our group would lay claim to his belongings as reparations for his crimes against our company. I look forward to some time to study my spell book."
"Whatever you guys think is best. Once we are done with Wally I am going to go sell these shorts swords and armor at the lionshield so we have more money to take on our journey.
(Galben nocks an arrow readying an attack if aggression is shown while they move Wally)
Sildar thinks a moment, "Well, I think I can persuade Townmaster Harbin to hold Wally for at least 24 hours. Beyond that, I make no promises. He seems remiss to get in the way of the Redbrands; however, if it is your intention to dispense with them forthwith, the tides may turn and young Wally here may yet be held to account for his actions. I will take him and pledge to ensure he is held until dusk tomorrow at the earliest, and I will try to negotiate for terms of his trials. He certainly seems...pliable, to say the least. Thank you friends, and best of luck to each of you."
Wally is turned over to Sildar who leads him into the Hall; Wally willingly goes with Sildar but turns briefly to smile and wave at OldMan before he enters. "See you later, my new friend!"
As you head back toward the Inn, Galben stops by to sell the short swords. Linene offers you 12 gp for the four swords and 60 gp for the armor as it all very old and very used.
OldMan turns toward the group. "It seems we are destined to deal with these redbrands before we go rescue Gundren Rockseeker. I am concerned this "eye monster" Wally spoke of is a beholder or a cyclops or something more powerful than we are. And their leader being a wizard is very concerning. But if we play it smart I think we can handle the ruffians. The question is do we start at the Sleeping Giant or go straight to the Manor? We need to rest and get 100% but we also need to move with some swiftness. Word of their defeat today will quickly spread and they will send a response. We need to get them before they are organized. What should our plan of attack be?"
"I cannot see us prevailing over a beholder in our current state. I feel we will lose the element of surprise unless we act immediately. Can we rest for an hour and then storm the Sleeping Giant? Maybe we can take 6 or 8 of the ruffians out, then rest."
"In such a short amount of time I could only retain one spell. But that may be enough. If we are going to attack the Sleeping Giant I would recommend that we go just after dark. Let the ruffians get a full belly of food and ale. Maybe they will be sluggish. We could use my ferret familiar to investigate their behavior within the building before we attack."
"I can muster 2, maybe 3 spells through the rest of the day. I agree with OldMan, if we time it right they may be too slow to react. I feel bad about the impending damage to the tavern, but perhaps they will be relieved to be rid of the scoundrels that are no doubt not paying much for the ale they consume."
"I'd give up some of my loot from Galben's armor sales to repair any damage we do but ridding the world of bullies is worth every coin. Plus I'd like to add some human toes to my bag of goodies. I meant to get some off of the street ruffians but forgot when we were taking Wally in to jail."
"Let's go rest and heal up for an hour and then go clean out the Sleeping Giant."
If I understand your intentions correctly, it sounds like the party is heading to the Inn to take a short rest before heading to the Sleeping Giant. Anyone who would like to take a short rest can do so. Also, if you're splitting Galben's spoils, it'd be 12 gp per person.
"Here are 12 gold pieces EACH, I sold the extra shortswords (4) and Studded Armor (2). I'm ready to go, I just need to cure my wounds before we take our short rest so I have both of my spells available.
Also, as a note, Sildar's offer of lodging last evening was only to cover your expenses for that evening by way of thanks for his rescue. It will not apply to subsequent evenings, meals, food, or drink at the inn going forward. Costs will be 5 sp for lodging, 3 sp for meals, and ale is 4 cp per mug.
Toblen approaches the group, "Good evening, folks! I hope you had a productive day in Phandalin. I've held your rooms for you, but I wanted to see if it was your intention to stay this evening."

(Bearkiller yells over to Galben)
"What should we do with this one?"
(Galben replys)
"I think we got our use out of him, I say end him"
(Bearkiller looks at Regula)
"I agree with that cheap ass over there, I'd be happy to deliver the ending blow if given the chance"

"That could work. How many spells would you and OldMan have available after a short rest?"
