OldMan stands up. "Kill the bugbear, but I want the eyes intact and maybe a toe. I say we leave the goblin tied up until we are done. Then we can introduce him to the goblin barmaid in town. Maybe he can be rehabilitated. If we perish then he staves to death waiting for us. A just fate for vermin who work with the Redbrands. How would you all feel about sending my weasel out the door to have a look around while we finish our rest. Also, I need to study up for a bit to retrieve a spell for the upcoming fireworks."
I have not had time to research but does anyone know if the weasel can use my dark vision or if I lose my dark vision ability looking through the weasel's eyes?
Also I posted the map of what we've seen so far on the google doc Phil created under the tab Dungeon under Manor
From what I can gather, familiar's retain the traits of their normal animal and are only magical beasts for the purpose of effects that depend on its type. I'd say that wording makes them not an explicit magical beast, and would only have darkvision if the normal animal does, not simply because it's spellcaster does.
Here's the board as I understand it - what's the next move?
Just checking did we take a long enough short rest for OldMan to recover a spell?
Before we leave the safety of the room, OldMan takes his dagger out and carefully removes the eyes of the dead bugbear and cuts off two toes placing them in his pouch. He then takes some cloth from the beds and soaks it in water and puts it in Droops mouth. "Droop you seem a gentle soul. If we survive this adventure I promise we will return to release you bring you to town to find a new life. However, since you have worked for evil we cannot trust you to just run loose. If we perish then I am sorry that you may perish also while waiting for out return. This soaked rag will keep you from screaming and will offer some fluids for your health. I hope to see you soon."
(once the door is opened Galben takes the 3 morning stars and Javilins out to the front of the tunnel and hides them behind the log Carp was hiding behind and returns to the group behind Tubard)
Yes, we'll advance time so that a short rest can have been taken before you all exit. Galben finds no secret doors. Tubard, you don't see any signs of magic or any spell affecting the door - it appears like a perfectly normal wooden door you'd expect to see in this type of space.
Tubard ignores whether the door is unlocked. He pulls out his great axe and kicks down the door (Strength check 20!!!+5=25). After the door falls down he says “Who wants some?!”
Also, before moving on, each player is awarded 100 xp for defeating the bugbears in the barracks.
As the door falls in, you see several worn tables and chairs scattered around this large room. Wooden benches are drawn up against walls decorated with draperies of brown and red, and several ale kegs are propped up and tapped.
Regula rushes into the room, pushing past his compatriots as gracefully as he can, making it into the clearing of the room and advancing on Ruffian B. He slings his shield over his shoulder as he moves toward the Ruffian, and grabs Ruffian B around the neck and pulls it to the ground, pinning it to the floor in a flurry of motion (22 athletics check for me, 4 dex check for the Ruffian - Ruffian B is grappled).
(Not able to completely enter the room Bearkiller moves past Jake and to the right of OldMan and stands at the bottom of the steps.) (This is his turn)
OldMan slips into the room and moves to the right near the barrels casting [Tooltip Not Found] at ruffian D as he moves into the open. (14+6=20 hit 7 fire damage).
As OldMan slides past Tubard in the doorway he shoots a firebolt at Ruffian D. The drunken oaf looks surprised at the wizards agility and can't muster a defense quick enough as the bolt of fire flies into his left shoulder burning through his cloak and searing his skin. The alcohol lessons the pain so he just winces as he looks down at his own melted flesh and he shrugs his shoulders and looks around blankly trying to figure out who to attack.
Jake advances into the room, and stops directly behind Regula, guarding his back. He reaches out and touches Ruffian C, casting inflict wounds, (critical hit! Doing 43 points of necrotic damage.) As Jake's hand grazes the Ruffian's arm, the necrotic energy surges through the touch. A black aura surrounds the Ruffian, as his skin goes pale, then black, then putrid, rotting, before finally sloughing off in large chunks into an oozing pile on the ground.
(Galben steps through the door to the left of Tubard and takes aim at Ruffian B who is grappled with Regula. He pulls out and arrow and realeases it from his bow. it flies right over Regula's left shoulder and inbeds itself in Ruffian B's chest))
Tubard moves forward to Ruffian A and climbs onto the table (3+5 =8 athletics check). He stumbles through the goop of Ruffian C and decides to just throw a javelin at Ruffian A (8+5=13 MISS). As he stumbles the javelin goes right and gets stuck in the door. "Am I drunk now too?" Tubard looks at Galben "This is all your fault! Now I can't hit the broad side of a castle!"
Ruffian A, stumbling slightly, awkwardly pulls his short sword back to attack Tubard (16 to hit with disadvantage), and strikes a blow dealing 8 damage. Using its multi attack riding the confidence of his first strike, he pulls back and attempts to strike Tubard again (13 to hit, again with disadvantage) and lands another blow, this time with less force, dealing an additional 4 points of piercing damage.
(Bearkiller looks at the group)
"Do you want me to take care of this Bugbear? And what should we do with Droop?"
(Bearkiller takes out one of his daggers and walks over to the Bugbear and sticks the blade through its throat as the body becomes breathless)
"Take what body parts you want OldMan"
(Galben checks the walls in the hallway for secret doors)
(investigation roll 4)
Tubard takes the extra javelins and checks to see if there is spell or magic on this door (Investigation check 17 and Arcana check 0 haha)

(Thallan moves into the the doorway between Galben and OldMan) (That is his turn)
