As the medallion slots in, a small white light appears in the centre of Talmouth, right where this underground room would be, and another small light appears out in the middle of the bay where Marigold's ship went down. But as Vilus places his hand atop the medallion, those two lights fade, and a purple glow emanates from where the light in Talmouth had been, seemingly pointing right at Vilus' location. There is another purple light, larger and brighter, coming from the forest in the middle of Cambria.
Malachi looks over Samir’s shoulder as the map flickers to life. “The white dots mark where Andra and Marigold fell, or maybe where Razmus’ magic left them. But the invasion fleet is gone, or outside of our view.”He is relieved to see the golden mass of lights marking the invasion fleet is absent, but his relief quickly turns to worry as the purple lights appear on the map. “Purple, that’s new, what does it mean? The forest holds one of those towers to your Watcher, doesn’t it Vilus? And is the other mark…you?” Malachi’s memories go back to the connection he made with Vilus in the tunnels under the forest that almost killed him.
Vilus arches round trying to hold his hand in place whilst looking over at the map. "Yeah looks like it, I really should go visit there when I get the chance... Maybe I'll finally understand what is going on with me. Someone note the location so that I can let go and someone else can try, there should be a good populace of blue right? Then all we need to do is bring marigold here and we'll know where we should head next. Unless of course anyone has a cultist's dismembered arm in their bag, eh?" As he mentions Marigold the realisation hits and with his hand still on the medallion, vilus shifts into his usual form.
Malachi hesitates, remembering his vision and the Blue Lady’s remark that he was tainted, but moves over and slowly replaces Vilus and places his own hand over the medallion. He cranes his neck to see what appears on the map, if anything.
After assisting Sam, Ashley steps back with him and claps him on the back when things are all in working order. She's really impressed with her friend and is hoping this gives them some information.
As Vilus works the medallion, she's as surprised as Malachi by the purple color that appears from Vilus's actions. She waits with baited breath to see what happens with Mal's hand and once that is done, she will try hers.
The purple fades as Vilus removes his hand, and instead, blue lights up the map. Between Talmouth and Tensmith, there are perhaps a couple hundred small blue dots, with more scattered about the countryside. Even as they watch, the blue dots move ever so slightly, milling about like tiny ants as people go about their daily lives.
"woah, that's a lot." Vilus gets close to the map and tries to see how many individual blue dots are where they are. Then a thought hits him. "If we can push the map out, to see a larger or smaller area, right? We did at the one in Tensmith, I wonder whether we could push the map to see what's on the other side of the sea? No one who goes out there comes back and those who did were changed by rasmus. Could there be people out there who have been touched by the blue lady's power?"
"Its possible, yes." Samir muses over Vilus's idea, pondering over how much control they might have over the map's controls. "We could attempt it. I do worry about accidentally disrupting what control we have managed here, but once we have garnered whatever other information we need, it is worth a shot."
Malachi looks over the blue dots and feels a warmth in his chest, whether it was from awe and relief over the fact that those touched by the Blue lady spread far and wide or that there was no sign of his own potential taint, he could not say. He removes his hand slowly “Joren, Samir, the medallion turned red for you, did it not? Come and place your hand here, see what the map shows.” He looks over at Vilus “Then perhaps we should see what lies beyond the sea.”
Vilus pulls out the mouthy javelin he'd managed to save from the wreckage of Marigold's ship before the group abandoned it, and he stands at the door on guard in Joren's place. Keeping one eye on the entrance Vilus can't help but have most of his attention on the map and how it would react.
As Joren places his hand over the medallion, the blue fades from the map, and instead, red lights appear. Not nearly as many. Only a score. There are two located at their position, one more and the city, a handful in Tensmith, and several in the vicinity of some of the hamlets in the interior.
As Vilus stands watch, he hears a faint scraping sound from somewhere within the compound. The scrapes come in the cadence of slow footsteps. "Hear that?" exclaims Gavelin. "Sounds like some fresh meat for the skewer!"
The scraping stops, and then a low growl rumbles through the empty halls.
Vilus looks with interest at the map nearly not hearing the scraping. But focusses more when Gavelin pipes up, "we've got incoming" he mentions to the group whilst hoisting Gavelin up onto his shoulder and readying himself to attack the first thing he sees moving that isn't the group or Mikael.
His attention pulled away from the map by Vilus' warning, Samir straightens, pushing his bag to hang more along his back. "Something left behind by the cult? Or something deciding to move in more opportunistically..."
Cursing under his breath, Joren trots back to join his echo as guardian near the chamber's entrance. As I was fearing. Dawdling on enemy ground...
He peers down the gloom of the hallways and listens, but the strangeness of his place is too much for him to get any sense whatsoever. Not to mention the distraction of realizing that there were several others like him associated with the Red Huntsman. Well himself, Samir, the perhaps the one hunter fellow back in Tensmith who had referred to him. But now seeing the image, apparently more than a dozen others. The ebb to the Blue Lady'sflow.
Hearing the warning from Vilus and seeing the others react, Malachi places one hand on the hilt of a dagger and replies to Samair "Whatever it is, it isn't likely to be good." Malachi slips into the shadows of the room, keeping the doorway in sight. Stealth 19.
Ashley hears what is going on and instinctively heads near Mikael. Keeping the young man to her back, she watches Joren as he tenses up, waiting for whatever is in the area that is coming their way. Flicking her wrist, she produces her flame that she holds in her palm, waiting for what is to come next.
There is another roar as the footsteps continue, but this time from further away. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to know where Gav's voice came from.
(For anyone who can roll a nature check of 12 or higher, you will recognize the sound as coming from one of the cave bears you encountered earlier in the caves)

"Not being safe, this place, enemy ground despite seeming abandoned," Joren grunts. "Someone else please be keeping watch in the meanwhile."
Once someone does so, and leaving his echo behind at the entrance as well, Joren ambles over to place his hand as directed.
