Whilst maintaining concentration on the telepathic link vilus has made with the beast below, he rolls out of the path of its smite almost like he senses it was coming, (Nat20 on the save) the crackling arcs from the strike ripple over Vilus' body but something inside him won't let it happen as he shrugs off the remainder of the intended damage. (Stone's endurance nullifying 10 damage reducing the remaining 8 down to 0.)
"I'm in its head Mal! It sees us as a threat, us specifically"
The ship's shakes takes Ashley to the deck again, banging her knee as she goes down. She takes a settling breath and stands herself back up, holding onto the rail. Leaning over again, she makes sure her fire sprites engulf the creature again.
DC WIS 15 or 18 radiant damage (half if saved)
She then turns back to the deck and sees Malachi barely holding on. She stays where she is, not trusting her land legs to get her there and sends healing his way for 7 hps, as she tries to boost it miserably with her sorcery points. "Hang on Mal! We can do this!!"
Turning to Vilus, his words confuse her, "Why us? How did it even know we were here?!"
"Because someone told it!" Samir's words are a shout across the pitching, chaotic deck. "It cannot possibly be coincidence; someone woke the creature and filled it's head with thoughts of us, convincing it we posed some sort of threat to it!" Samir attempts to fling a second bolt of flame at the writhing tentacles, but his aim is off as the ship lurches beneath him, sending him staggering. "Can you try to talk some sense into it? I've not clue how one would talk sense into an ancient sea monster, but it might be worth a try!"
Fire Bolt: 9 to hit, 9 fire damage on the extremely off chance that it connects.
Vilus still crackling from the lightning smite hold his head and concentrated, "we're currently having a disagreement..." He answers Samir on the topic of talking to it.
Again he throws two warbling Eldritch blasts at one of the tentacles. (Preferably whichever has taken the most damage? 25 to hit, 9 force damage. 25 to hit, 8 force damage)
Retaining focus he lets the Gates open once more and tries intimidating the mind of the beast (17 intimidation)
Joren tries to make sense of the conversation taking place among his friends. Someone told it? It being the bloody giant squid? I am finding myself unable to think of any 'Someone' that could tell a beastie like that much, excepting perhaps our friend Mr. R coming from across the Amethyst Ocean...
Turning back to matters he can comprehend, he continues his attacks on the nearest tentacle, while his echo mirrors the first attack on the large one.
Movement: (None unless needed to reach tentacle 2... if tentacle 2 goes down, he trots over to tentacle 1 instead.)
Action: From his own position, Joren attacks tentacle 2 twice with his Dunamis Blade:
Dunamis Blade Attack 1 to hit tentacle 2: 28 (Natural 20) Dunamis Blade Attack 1 damage on tentacle 2: 17 magical slashing
Dunamis Blade Attack 2 to hit tentacle 2: 24 Dunamis Blade Attack 2 damage on tentacle 2: 9 magical slashing
Bonus Action: From his echo's position, Joren mirrors his first attack above, but this one on the large tentacle.
Dunamis Blade attack from echo's position on large tentacle to hit: 28 (Natural 20 - using same roll as above) Dunamis Blade attack from echo's position on large tentacle damage: 22 magical slashing
If the large tentacle attempts to move towards the ship to attack it, Joren will use his Reaction to try to make an opportunity attack from his echo's position with his Dunamis Blade. His Sentinel feat would reduce movement to zero if the opportunity attack hits.
