As he watches Silas place the mug down, Two watches his hand carefully. The fingers stop drumming. He stands up slowly and leans in so only Silas can hear him.
Silas:
"You almost had me, but you know, a Firbolg's fingers have a unique spacing to them. Changes how they grip things. But then, you probably haven't broken enough fingers to be aware of that tidbit, have you, Vilus. I don't know if this appearance is your friend's sorcery or something bestowed by the watcher, but I suggest you make your excuses to leave. The assassin has been found and dealt with, and the gates have been reopened. We are going home."
Two never raises his soft voice, but an edge creeps in to it towards the end.

As the man stands up and leans in towards Silas, Ashley moves in closer - what she is going to do, she is unsure, but this man, just a man not a rat, was not going to have the upper hand.
Malachi awakens with a gasp, clutching Marion’s arm tightly “The red, the blue, the yellow. He is coming. I saw him with a fleet of ships coming from across the sea”he stammers in shock.
He calms down and comes back to the present, looking around the room and realizing with a start it is just the two of them in the room. “Where is Silas?”he sits up weakly “Is that what goes through his mind all of the time? How can he stand it?” He stops suddenly, his thoughts turning inward to his own mind for now.

Who are you? What happened? He reaches out tentatively with his thoughts
"A-ha!" Samir calls out suddenly, a broad grin across his face as he pokes at the now nullified staple with a finger. "Joren! Look! I've managed to cancel out the electrical properties of this staple. It's completely safe to touch now!"
Humming softly to himself, he proceeds to sweep the rest of the staples into a pouch with a sheaf of heavy paper, thinking that there was no real need to disable them all when their properties could perhaps be of better use later. The stone used for the darkness effect earlier is likewise swept into his satchel to be examined later, perhaps to find a use. The talisman, however, he ponders for a moment. It obviously had a use of some kind, perhaps to identify certain individuals? The differing colors that seemed to be associated with his companions - red or blue, depending - were interesting but for the moment he couldn't seem to put together what the actual point of it was. Samir's strong suspiscion was that Jon was using it to try and identify certain individuals for some reason. But why?
Shaking his head he slides the talisman into the bag as well, looking over at Joren. "I think I need to find some food and rest a bit. Will you come as well of are you staying here?" Samir glances over at the captives in their cages. "I suppose I don't really know what to do with that lot."
Joren's preoccupation with the prisoners and shoring up the blockage in the collapse to delay any new entrants for a few minutes makes him somewhat surprised when he hears Samir make his breakthrough. His head snaps up and he takes a close look at the staple like a little boy. Gingerly, he pokes the staple with his finger, then grins.
My mother told my that my da could sometimes make electricity magically, but I've never seen anything like this. I wonder where Samir put the electricity if it's not there any more? I better not ask him though - he's been working hard...
(Joren's understanding voltages and electric potentials and grounding or short circuits is a little lacking).
"In two minds, I am being about the prisoners. I do not want to be bringing them up to the Inn on the chance one of them is dying accidentally and exploding. But if we are leaving them down here, then someone may be coming and freeing them. I am not sure what we should be doing with them. I think I will be resting down here for now, but Samir when you are reaching the Inn, could you be asking some of our group or the freed captives to be taking a turn down here for keeping watch in an hour or two? Preferably two at a time, being."

Two's normally smug face darkens with anger and for a moment Silas thinks he is about to grab his dagger. But instead he slaps Silas across the face with his unburnt hand.
Attack: 8 Damage: 4
Silas realizes though that the bloodlust wasn't imagined. But surely Two wouldn't betray his father and kill Silas... he had been absolutely loyal for as long as Silas had had the displeasure of knowing him.
"You forget yourself," Two hisses, though he quickly casts a wary look in Ashley's direction and shifts a bit to put Silas square between the two. "We should be having this conversation in private."
Malachi had never heard the things voice like his mother had before she... but this time, as he reaches out to it with his thoughts, he can feel it think back at him. Again not quite in words, he feels the tendrils send a ripple along his mind that seem to say Trust me. I will keep you safe. Whenever you need me, you need only call.
At that moment, Marion and Malachi hear a raised voice from below. Silas's.
"Certainly, we will not let you stay down here by yourself all night." Gathering up the rest of his gear and begins making his way back through the passage to the inn.
Ashley's anger almost over takes her as the man slaps Silas. She is an instant away from throwing more fire at him, cursing herself that she is about out of spell slots and needs a rest. But at the last second she holds back, steps to the side so she can look into the bastard's eyes and casts bane by biting her lip again, which bursts open easily since it had barely healed from the last time and speaks "By this curse misfortune will reign, your futures end, this is your bane". She hopes by doing this, she throws the man off his game a bit and give Silas the upperhand.
CHA save 12, even if he saves, she's hoping the feeling of the magic, even if it doesn't overtake him makes him question things - he appears to be nervous around magic.

Silas takes the slap unflinchingly, but as the hand thunders across his face the only thing that moves is the façade, the firbolg fur bursts off of Silas in dance of purple embers, as if Two had slapped a dying fire, what remains is the enraged face of the familiar Goliath underneath. Through gritted teeth Silas tries to calmly utter toward Ashley "he's right, Mali needs food and water, he's injured. If you could, please."
Simultaneously as Silas is speaking, Two hears a screaming growl tear through his head, "HOW DARE YOU, YOU FORGET YOUR PLACE, The eye has grown more powerful and the Watcher has been in contact.
The problem in Talmouth may have been dealt with but the source has not, you will either deliver a message to The Hand on my behalf or reveal yourself as a conspirator of the mole within Delirius, and when I retur you will pay the price for it, DO YOU UNDERSTAND!?"
With both Silas speaking out loud and shouting in Two's head at the same time this causes confusion and pain, this too attributed by the watcher greedily present, whispering in observation of the situation, a presence in both Silas and Two's minds of hungry eyes.
Dissonant Whispers DC13 WIS or 17 damage and he must flinch and move away from Silas.

Two's eyes flit over to Ashley as she speaks, and Silas watches a little bit of his façade of confidence waver even before she finishes her spell. When Silas's voice begins assaulting his mind, his head snaps back to look at Silas, eyes wide. He involuntarily clutches his ears and fights (with some success) to keep the whispers out. But try as he might, he cannot shield himself from the meaning and weight of Silas's words themselves. He takes a hasty step away from Silas, but the back of his leg backs into his chair as he tries to gain a bit of distance.
Down goes Two, tumbling over his chair, though he quickly picks himself back up. Naked hatred dominates his features and he seems about ready to say something cruel as he hunches over with his left hand on bruised ribs and looks up at Silas. His gaze wavers, though, and he breaks eye contact, looking down and away as he scurries towards the door. Without another word, he unlocks it, steps outside, and slams the door behind him.
Perception from Silas, and if Ashley stayed in the room then she can make one as well. DC 10

When Silas asks Ashley to leave, she breaks her gaze from the intruder once the spell has been casts and looks at Silas, a bit deflated. Her emotions mix of anger and confusion as the one she was trying her best to defend has now dismissed her.
She watches as Silas over powers the man and gets him to eventually leave, "Silas, is it good that he has left? Is he going to go get more people? Are you or are we safe here?"

Malachi appears lost in thought, a curious and nervous expression on his face, when he hears the raised voice below. “Silas. What is going on down there?” He pushes himself slowly to his feet and turns to Marion, the memory of the incident with the bear in the kitchen fresh in his mind “Shall we go see what trouble he has gotten himself into this time?”
Malachi moves downstairs in a normal pace, not rushing in or trying to be sneaky, but actively looking and listening to see what is going on. Perception: 11.
Marion holds onto Malachi as he comes too, holding him as he grips her arm to prevent him from falling as he leaves whatever he witnessed behind. Her face is a mask of concern as he blurts out words that are equal parts confusing and alarming, as she scrutinises him carefully, evaluating his condition as he begins to move and talk. Talking to him, she reassures him about Silas and attempts to warn him not to be hasty: "Silas returned to us, seemingly unharmed, and went to retrieve some water. Tis you who seemingly bore the brunt of whatever you both experienced. Careful now friend, you don't want to move prematurely..."
However, as the commotion downstairs quickly draws Malachi's attention before she can finish she lets out a knowing sigh, before getting up and following him, standing close by and ready to catch him should he not be so steady on his feet as he expects.
As the man tumbles over the chair, Ashley could swear she hears a light clinking sound.
Malachi comes down the stairs just in time to hear a crash and see the tail end of the man as he retreats out the door and into the night.
Malachi is even more acutely aware than normal of the suspicion from his mental companion, and can feel it subtly pressing against his own senses
In the brief moment Malachi sees Two, he picks out several spots for concealing weapons under the cloak as it flutters with Two's rapid passage. He also notes that the cloak itself seems oddly weighted in places. This is certainly a man who carries many tricks up his sleeve, and is no stranger to blood.
Following the man's departure, Ashley scans the ground near the chair and then bends over and takes a quick peek under the table. Something glistens from underneath and she can make out a small vial filled with an odd pinkish liquid that must have fallen off of Two's person when he tumbled.
Checking to make sure the liquid isn't visibly doing something, and if it is not, she quickly scoops it up and puts it in her pack. Then yelling back to Mal, "That man came back and figured out Silas! This is bad!" and she bolts out the door after Silas.
Using her bonus action, she changes all her sorcery points to garner one last 2nd level spell. she focuses on the man that angered her so, that is retreating, worse than a rat and casts Maximilian’s Earthen Grasp hoping the earthen hand that rises from the ground will succeed in grasping the terrible man.

Still leaning on the mug Silas leans in too, bring his face level with Two's mere centimeters apart.
"Sit!"
Silas growls into the man's face, loud enough for Ashley to hear.
