After Primrose finishes her meal, she wipes her mouth and pulls out her makeup compact. Then puts it back thinking it's too late for it.
"I hope some magic defenses, attacks and healing are part of the "outfitted for mayhem and adventure" package. At least some healing supplies if not scrolls and potions."
"I will take you to the depot near the North Gate," Sergeant Sloan tells you as he begins to walk out of the restaurant. "It is the closest one to where we expect the goblins to make camp. There you will receive official FDF uniforms and any extra equipment you might need, including extra spell components, but nothing "magical". You will each receive a med kit containing first aid supplies and two vials of what we call green "healing potion" created by the doctors of Suffolk. All of our weapons and armor are top of the line (+1) which you can exchange for whatever you have now. I will answer any questions you have when we get there."
SkorliBonebreak whistles in appreciation of Leokoris' impressive hammer. "Ye can def'nitely crack some skulls with that 'un. A right fine specimen. Even fer an elf." (This last part he says with a smile and a wink).
Skorli pays attention to the Sergeant, and when he appears to be listening to his own finger, raises his eyebrows and whispers to Leokoris, "Seems a bit barmy, no? Think 'e's gone round ta bend?"
However, he obediently follows the sergeant to the depot. He turns down a new warhammer, preferring his time-tested weapon "Frigga". He will exchange his armor though. (Is there any plate +1 available?)
He also declines a uniform, choosing instead his priestly robes atop his heavy armor. "Anyone who mistakes me fer a goblin 'll get a dwarven punch right on ta nose."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Leokoris starts pulling out her axen, dagger, and armour -
Skorli's right, Sergeant. We should leave the uniforms for another day... For gear though, I'd like to trade my axen, dagger, and armour and shield in? I'd like breastplate if you have any, for all the sneaking we'll be doing...
10 days rations for all, and 2 healing potions, too...please?
Misha follows everyone to the depot. She tosses her crossbow and bolts up on a table. “I want to look at all your component materials while you look for a crossbow and bolts that are better than this.”
She starts looking through drawers and shelves of material components for her spell casting and excitedly stocks up on materials.
"Everything is top of the line here," the clerk behind the counter at the depot tells Leokoris as he lays out a battleaxe (+1), two daggers (+1), shield (+1), and breasplate (+1). He then puts a black crossbow and bolts (+1) on the counter for Misha. "Ten days of rations seems pretty standard," the clerk says, placing a crate of travel rations and hard tack on the counter. "Each crate contains enough food for twenty meals; so, you'll need about five boxes with this crowd, I presume." He then gets out several small wooden boxes. "And each of these med kits contains two healing potions."
Misha grimaces at the hard tack and rations. “Oh, this simply won’t do! Do you have any spices? That way I can cook something a little more delicious than this. I have keep an iron skillet and spatula in my pack. Some spices would really help brighten the morale! Rosemary, Thyme, Salt and Pepper, of course! Cumin and Tarragon and maybe some Cayenne, if you have it?”
”I’m not going to watch everyone eat hard tack and rations all the time if I have an opportunity to get some fresh meat and a campfire going!”
Thank you Kadakithes, these will come in handy...Tell your wife I think of her and her apple crisp every...She turns to the rest of her new squad, excitement and fear trilling through her at the idea of it, and pauses first, to regain control of her voice ...
Let's help ourselves folks. Anything we need, or think we might need, or have always wanted and not yet gotten ...within reason of course
She stows her new gear just so, keeping her father's warhammer.
"Small packets of salt and black pepper are in each travel ration pack," Kadakithes the clerk says to Misha. "If you want anything fancier, you'll have to go down the street to the market. Too bad cooking isn't considered a "magical" talent."
"By the way," Kadakithes says to Leokordis, "the wife says 'Hello'. She and the children hope you can come by for dinner again some time. I'll tell her you liked the apple crisp." He smiles at Leokordis as he continues to hand out supplies and provisions.
Misha nods, understandingly and accepts that at least there is salt and pepper in the rations to season. Still, it won’t be as good as if she were in front of a hearth and cooking.
“Magical cooking? I much prefer real cooking. Leave magic to healing and helping in other ways!”
No worries dear, good food is magic in it's own way....Standing back from the table Leokoris looks on at how the rest of the team is getting on while marking an x in the dirt with her heel ... When you're all set, Misha, stand here on this x, please and thank you? Right everyone when you are ready line up next to Misha, if you please. She moves over to her squad lea - , er former squad leader...Where are we off to after this, Sergeant?
"Well," Sergeant Sloan says thoughtfully as the others get prepared, "the way I see it, this hobgoblin warlord is the key to it all. Without him in charge, the hobgoblins would most likely start fighting amongst themselves to determine who is in charge. Meanwhile, the bugbears would probably go off on their own while the goblins lose discipline and cohesion. The whole army would fall apart if we could get rid of the warlord.
"How do we get to him, though? That's the question. Headquarters is hoping you volunteers can do a surgical strike and take him out, but we have a lot of goblins to get through. I don't know how we are going to do it. Since you all are not officially a part of the Frelian Defense Forces, except for Leokoris and me, no one has any actual rank. Anyone can suggest a plan, but I doubt fighting our way through eight thousand goblins will work.
"The FDF will be protecting the city from within the walls. It is up to us to somehow get to the camp, through the camp, and to the warlord.
"Let's review who we've got: a champion fighter (Leokoris), a blood hunter (Dire), a barbarian (Xienuty), a monk (Rhi), a paladin (Waltz), a cleric (Skorli), two sorcerers (Misha and Vanessa), a wizard (Primrose), and a druid (WendySuck's character). How can we use all of your skills to get to this warlord and capture or kill him, thus throwing the army into chaos? Anybody have some invisibility potions or spells? We could split up into two teams, then . . . ." The sergeant walks off thinking to himself for a moment.
A short time later, Sergeant Sloan returns with a plan:
"Okay. Here is what we will do: we split up into two teams. One will leave out the East Gate and head north to approach the goblin camp from the south. The other team will go out the North Gate and head east to approach the goblin camp from the west. Leokoris and Waltz Tattersail will be the team leaders. Here," he says handing Leo and Waltz each a small black box with a metallic wand sticking out of the top. "These will help us keep in touch and communicate. Just press the side here and speak into the box like this," he explains, "and the other person can hear what you say. They are portable communication devices we call walkie-talkies. Usually, only the highest ranking members of the FDF use them, but this group is on a special mission sanctioned by the Eternal Coven itself; so, we will have access to whatever gadgets the Technarch's tinkerer gnomes have been able to create with their kind of magic." He lets the two team leaders practice with the walkie-talkies a little bit to see how they work.
"Okay, then," Sergeant Sloan says after a while. "As for the rest of you: Skorli, Xienuty, the druid, and Misha will go with Leokoris out the East Gate; Rhi, Dire, Vanessa, and Primrose will go with Waltz through the North Gate. I will stay here with the FDF, keeping in touch with you through the walkie-talkies," he explains putting a finger to his ear. "We will begin the operation tomorrow when the suns set so we can use the darkness to our advantage. You can spend the next day and a half resting and getting whatever other supplies you need from the nearby markets and shops. We will meet here tomorrow around high sun. Bedrolls have been laid out for you in the next room. So, rest up, get to know your teammates, and I will see you tomorrow." With that Sergeant Sloan leaves the depot.
All right Team East, you heard the man. If any one has any shopping to be done now is the time, otherwise doors to the barracks lock at 2 hours after sunset, and lights out in the barracks at 2 hours after that. Misha would you like some company to go shopping for herbs and seasonings?

Misha waves her hand high, even though as a short 2’ something gnome it is probably difficult to get any attention. She speaks up as loud as she can.
”I can heal and I have some neat utility spells that I know…such as…wait for it…Invisibility! I can turn folks and myself invisible if you want.”
Misha grins brightly knowing she has some usefulness to the group.
"Beggin' yer pardon, Sergeant, but it seems ta me you've put ta two healers, me self and ta druid, in ta same group," observes the dwarf.
