“Evil Water with dwarf face attacked us. Only Chubby seriously hurt. Others explain better, Gregor get quick drink and will continue guarding your room for night just in case.” And with that Gregor slinks off to the common area, more specifically the bar.
Crispy takes a moment and meticulously cleans her blades. She takes a small sharp tool from her belt and scratches a line on the bottom on her left handed blade.
"Hah! Creat-ive. Nice.." She pats Chubby as he sleeps. "Dwarves..."
After cleaning her blade, she walks around the ship, deep in thought, her hand always on her sword hilts, taping her finger.
"Summoned...on a willing person. Revenge." She mumbles.
Once everyone is back out of the cargo area, Liam turns to Ruven.
"Captain, would there be somewhere that we can speak in relative privacy?" He motions with his arm to indicate the surrounding dwarves, some who are still asleep while others are in various states of wakefulness, wondering what the commotion is about. "I have something to discuss with you about this creature, but it's best kept from prying ears."
"That sounds... Eventful." He straightens his back. "Well, good job, all. Please, get some well deserved rest. I shall question the crew personally first thing tomorrow, in my office. My apologies for the disturbance. This is obviously something I will need to address before we have paying customers aboard The Lining. I bid you all goodnight." He turns and begins walking up to the top deck. He looks back before leaving the room and says "And again, good work everyone. Mini bar is on the house."
The rest of your time on board 'The Golden Lining' is quite splendid. You take an extra day to arrive after the events of the evening. Ruvan questions the crew, and consults the party. The consensus was that Ragar sought vengeance on Gorum after the way he treated him, and the way he treated Runi. Investigation through his belongings found letters obsessing over her and the rumours Gorum spread about them sleeping together apparently pushed him over the edge. He wrote that he was "going to commit to the ritual" but that was the biggest lead you could find relating to how the transformation took place. The rest of the trip consists of sun baking, clay shooting, gambling games and drinking. Ruvan is in his office a lot of the time, but occasionally pops out to oversee the activities on the ship and gain feedback. After another three days, you are all on the deck lounging, and Ruvan stands and addresses you all. "We're here." He says, bearing a smile.
So, I have some prep to do, maps to draw maybe over the next few days? Please, feel free to RP out the rest of your time on the ship, if you wish to RP talking to Ruvan or the crew either tonight or over the trip, if you want to explore the ship, feel free to explore it! I can entertain you on here for as long or short as you like. You may all also, level up to level four! =)
Does Ruven have an onboard doctor/cleric, or a supply of healing potions? Chubby needs some tender lovin’ healing after that battle. He could use his stock of healing potions, but would rather keep them in reserve for when we need them on the island.
Ruven dashes upto his office, and brings back a fair sized hardwood lock box with a big red wood ‘+’ inlaid into it. It jingles softly as he walks down the stairs. He pops it open and offers a medium sized potion to Chubby (4d4+4). It’s rasberry flavoured.
"Wow" Crispy says over Chubby's shoulder, then adds in her best dwarven accent: "Ask and ye shall receive, fat ass!"
Crispy spent the rest of the trip doing a number of things.
Her and Chubby, being old friends, had many stories to tell of their adventures in their past lives, most of which were detailed over drinks, when one of them wasn't passed out. The story of how both of them met had everything a good story should: downtrodden people, jokes, a hero stepping up against all odds, a raucous debated about who saved who, and a huge bar fight with lots of truths left out. Crispy got a bit watery in the eyes, which she would always deny and attribute to the alcohol, when the time came to explain the death of her work partner, and that terrible moment they pushed that beholder crime lord a little too far, which got her in this mess in the first place.
The other days, other than eating and drinking, were spent sunbathing on the deck - after all, she had that tan to keep up, talking about the fight down below deck, and keeping in shape by running, lifting the third heaviest barrels she could find along with other moderately heavy items, and jumping around and practicing her swings with her blades. Even though she knew she would lose, she would arm wrestle with Chubby just for kicks, and then explained the story of how he broke her arm a number of times but kept coming back. She's no barbarian, but she could hold her own - even if it was briefly, with a dwarf that had the bulk and girth of the Chubster.
And other times she would be watching you. Ready. Like a hawk or a large cat ready to pounce, and would sometimes be where you'd never think she'd be - listening, watching, and winking. That saucy wink she gave.
Given all that you've already narrated, we don't need to RP the conversation between Liam and Ruven. Most of that conversation would have involved sorting out who did what concerning Ragar and Gorum.
As far as the rest of the trip, Liam does his usual and keeps mostly to himself, though he does make time for some tutoring with Nia. He'll compose a letter to send to his mentor when the opportunity presents itself, detailing the encounter with the Tracker and generally updating him on how his adventures are going. In his alone time, he can frequently be found out on the main deck or up on the forecastle, enjoying the sea air and ocean views. He does take some time to share meals with dwarven crew when available, particularly Runi, and will listen to some of their stories and tales as well as sharing some of his own.
If someone were to watch Gregor’s daily routine, they would swear up and down that something wasn’t right. There was not nearly enough time in the day and night to have a healthy sleep schedule for what he got accomplished. He socialized with the crew and his party, drank his weight in minibar drinks, gambled to a net neutral.
(Thats right, three to four days and nights of gambling and he walked off the ship with the exact amount he walked in it with. Some would claim the luck of the devil, some would cast a suspicious eye on his honesty and integrity, but all who did could not fathom how or why he ended up with that exact amount.)
He also took to seriously training with his great axe, which he never wanted to get caught in a fight without again. Some would even claim he became a Great Weapon Master (wink wink). He also took most of the nightly body guard patrols for the boss man, and still found time to be spotted reading his economic and business management books, and practicing on a lute that looked to be barely holding togeather. All in all it was a productive trip for Gregor.
Nia continued to shock the crew with how someone so little can eat so much without getting fat. At one point she added a trinket to her Staff of Adornment : A garnet heart held in the claws of a gold phoenix, watching it spin amused her for a surprisingly long time. There was an amusing chase scene when she used Mage Hand to slip an ice cube into the back of Crispy's swimsuit when she was sunbathing, who almost instantly knew who was responsible because Nia couldn't help but giggle at her own 'cleverness'. In her tutoring sessions with Liam Nia was a surprisingly attentive student, interrupting only where their magics held some fundamental difference, that night their study session ended with Nia falling asleep on Liam's shoulder.
If there could be video highlights of the journey, one would definitely include that ice cube touching Crispy's tight lean back as she flinched at it's coldness, tensing, exclaiming "HrRK!" - then looking around, getting up, and chasing Nia as they both giggled and laughed it off, Crispy clearly showing a growing affection for her that was getting harder and harder to hide. Of course there were the snarky comments at Liam, who was way too stiff for his own good, and the moments at night, half drunk when Crispy had to say "Owowowowow! Ok! Ok! I yield!" As Chubby almost broke her arm AGAIN in wrestling on the second night. There were also times when her and the half-orc practiced their most menacing looks, Gregor clearly winning. They may have had a brief conversation on management as well.
Crispy, you know being "too stiff for his own good" is mostly because of his Yuan-ti heritage, right? You know, the whole "don't feel emotions" thing they've got going on? What emotionality you guys HAVE seen from Liam is definitely the exception for his race.
Gregor shouts “MR BOSS MAN, IT BE BEING CLEAR DOWN HERE, EVIL WATER IS DEAD”
In this instance, you can recover by any means, but a rest is probably appropriate given the time anyway =)
Ruven hears the muffled grumbles of Chubby and Gregors announcement- he lifts the trap door.
"By the grace of Bahamut, are you alright? What happened?" He helps you all out of the cargo bay one by one.

Chubby chugs the raspberry flavored potions, healing him for 17. And then he uses fighter's Second Wind to heal an additional 13.
All back to "normal"!

What do you think I've been doing this whole time? :)
Thennnnn....Liam should be explaining that to Crispy, not me LOL =P
