Having finished deciphering the map, Elandra recounts the tales to the others in the room, her natural instincts putting a more poetic spin on the details. She realises that she almost paints the black dragon as a woeful protagonist, being thrust into service and dying for their efforts. Norbus breaks her tale with his shout, and she quickly draws to a conclusion, as no tale should be left without a suitable cliffhanger, "And thus did the cult fade from view, whether to lick their wounds and re-populate their rank or scheme over the re-incarnation of their defeated champion. No-one could say, though perhaps both, and perhaps we few shall now find out a truth..."
She starts hurrying her way down the stairs, no concern for stealth travelling in this direction. She extends a hand and allows her fingers to glide across the stone of the stairwell, as much to appreciate the longevity of the place as to offer her a ready brace should she stumble on the old and worn steps. In her mind, she congratulates herself on the tale, certainly another chapter to the tales that other minstrels could not claim, and to know there is truth beneath it as well. This is the stuff that she was looking for from a quest bestowed by the gods. Mighty foes and insidious plots, interwoven and only barely hinted at - the better to keep the audience on edge.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, she looks to Norbus for more direction.
Jade stands there, enraptured by Elandra's story. Once Norbus shouts out though, she heads on down without waiting for the end, worried there is a danger ahead.
Liri will have followed the others up, gazing around the room curiously as the others search through it. On hearing Norbus yell from below, she spins and runs back down the stairs to see what the commotion is about.
Norbus leads you into the basment, and upon walking it, it immediately matches what you all saw in the map Elandra found, with one notable exception. Instead of a flat surface and dragon bones, there's simply a massive pit in the ground, clearly dug out over a long period of time
What's also blatantly obvious to you all as well is the absolutely massive lever on the other side of the room, easilly bigger than any one of you and constructed out of a much more polished stone that doesn't blend in at all with the walls of the city
Elandra compares the excavation in front of her to the map, "Any idea what was here before Norbus? We found a clue upstairs but I'd be interested to hear your recounting of what this room might have been used for beforehand. It is a little worrying if it marries up to this..." She hands the map to Norbus for him to look at himself
Norbus responds “As far as I know, this room should not exist. It’s been a while since dwarves have occupied these halls, but this seems to have been dug out since then”
Koric is happy to slowly follow the others down the stairs. He gathers up any paper that the others left in their haste, then follows slowly downstairs. As he arrives in the room he stops and his eyes widen, "So...what...they already dug up the bones?"
He looks around for any sign of the bones that the map said should be here.
Jade looks around at the dug out basement, wondering what it means that the possible dragon bones have been dug up? She uses another of her Divine Sense capabilities to see if there is anything of note.
The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell.
She then heads over to check out the very large lever in the corner of the room. She puts her hand on it to feel the smoothness of the stone.
Norbus shrugs, clearly have no idea, and you begin to look aroind for any sign of the dragon bones. Make a investigation check
@Jade
This area is full of death energy, absolutely covered in the magic of Myrkul's acolytes, but you feel nothing that would indicate nearby creature or the skeleton of one. Touching the lever, it feels incredibly polished and new despite the lack of any presense in this place besides the banshee and her ghouls for quite a while

Jade looks around to the others, seeing really nothing else to do in the room, shrugs and attempts to move the lever. Since she takes the time to look around, if anyone sees her holding the lever and contemplating the move, she will stop if anyone interjects.

@Koric
You walk around the rather large hole in the ground, and for most of the journey, you find nothing, However, near the far end of the room, you find a small wingbone lodged in a crevace in the rock wall. It appears to be the exact same bone that was circled on the diagram of a young black dragon skeleton you found in the upper room. Relaying this to your companions, you pick it up and leave the room
@Jade
Without all that much hesitation, the very moment koric has left the room, you vault up to the lever, scaling the wall and bounding on top of it. While it takes nearly all of your strength, you are able to move the lever into the other position. The moment you do, a blast of magic hits you, pushing Make a DC 15 Strength saving throw or you fall of the lever and take 6 damge.
@All
You start to hear clicking and whirring sounds above you, which after a few moments stop and the halls of the castle fall silent
"Ugh, I'm all for tension in the tales I tell, I'm not so fond of strange sounds in an abandoned dracolich burial ground. Anyone catch what it was that made the noise, any movement anywhere?" Wandering cautiously over to where Jade fell Elandra helps her stand then looks at the lever. "Does anyone remember anything that might have bene moved by this, or do we just go hunting for whatever we've changed?"
Koric hurriedly stows the bone in his pack for later examination as he looks around the room to see if anything has changed, then looks warily back up the stairs. "I suspect the building may have reconfigured itself. The library used to do that you know, it was very annoying sometimes. I think it liked to toy with us like rats in a maze." A wistful smile appears on his face before he flattens himself against a wall to allow the braver souls to lead the way back upstairs.
Dazlyn begins to ascend the stairs ahead of the group, ready to walk into the fray of whatever they heard. Upon turing the corner of the staircase and getting to where he can see the ground floor, he immediately shouts out "Friends, you might want to come see that portal we looked at earlier. Doesn't seem so broken anymore"

Koric looks up, fear in his eyes, "Wait until I'm finished here, if you please," he says, his voice quavering.
