Ernos arches an eyebrow at the mention of cairns, "No cairn better than a mountain, if they count that." With that comment, he casts his thoughts over his rough understanding of the gods to see if he can remember anything of rites performed for the dead.

Cladmir has never been one who paid much attention to gods or prayers to them until recently. Thinking about their fallen comrade and seeing Kroshav's determination filled him with a resolve to help the Dragonborn with whatever necessary to honor a fallen friend.
"Whatever we decide to do, just let me know how I can help."
"With her claws ye could open a proper tomb for the man. Ye can pile stones outside it if yer set on that. Just so long as he gets what he is owed."

Ernos isn't an expert on Kelemvor but his followers weren't uncommon or unwelcome on the wastes so he's casually aware of their beliefs, and most of those beliefs were, unsurprisingly, about death and dead things.
From what he could figure without actually asking for details is they were focused on a safe burial. In the wastes that meant too deep for a band of gnolls or something worse to dig up.
Probably something similar here. Deep, hard to get to. Cairn or mountain would do the job.
"Yes, that's what I was thinking. Want to find a slope that's set back between two sides, so I can tunnel into the stone, then fill the gap.", Kroshav says, making a V-shape with his hands.

The next morning the golems/Librarian report the storm as passed and that a small path out has already been cleared. Coming up to the entrance everyone would see that a substantial amount of snow has drifted in but golems are working steadily to remove it.
"I'm sick of this weather, trudging through snow...and getting sick of mountains. And no inns. Well, actually I'm not missing the inn part...I think I am missing having all the people around that you get in cities. People to watch and interact with. Different stores to go and just look at stuff. I don't think I'll ever turn into a hermit in my old age." Jaq sighs.
Turning to the others, "Just let me know what you need from me to help. I can take over with those tunneling things when you need a rest, just point me in the right direction on how to use them."

Cladmir nodded as Jaq spoke and also volunteered himself as well.
Looking around at all the snow he absentmindedly moved his hands about, touch each of the gears and weapons on himself to assure themselves they are still there.
Looking at Ernos Cladmir said, "Hey ya, I know we've just met and all, but seeing that your skill with the fire would be very helpful against danger snow creatures, you wouldn't mind tagging along with us will ya? Seeing that you are training against to cold somehow you probably don't just want to sit in the warm library all day."
Trying to focus, he also attempts to recall through his rapid but rather brief learning session on a good way to spot dangerous creatures in all this snow. If succeed he will share that nugget of wisdom with everyone.
Ernos nods to Cladmir's request, "It's only right to help, as thanks for the shelter."

Once the golems have cleared a full path the hall is illuminated by bright sunlight.
The first to poke their head up would see a rolling, drifted landscape. Some areas, for whatever reason, have low drifted hills of snow with bare, icy stone between. It is cold, but noticeably warmer than the day before.
The forest to the south is completely obscured.
A pair of golems stand up top, not assisting in the clearing.
Ernos heads up to the surface, taking a deep breath of fresh air and enjoying the outdoors. As he breathes out, clouds of frost form on his breath and he casts his eyes about the mountainside, "Today we seek a suitable place to entomb the fallen, yes?"

Kroshav, the only one that is actually looking, finds a likely windswept spot an hour from the library entrance, though in better conditions and knowing where it is at would put it within a half-hour.
It is a bit of climb to get to but it is outside the range of the washout the library is in the middle of, or at least the scraggly trees clinging to it would seem to indicate that it is a safe location. The mountain isn't too steep there though, so some digging work is going to be needed. Plenty of boulders and rocks of all sizes to be hand nearby though.

Mikram communicates to Kroshav his thoughts that,
"A cairn is fine if ye can't find a mountain."
He'll gesture in the direction of the mountain.
"With her claws ye could open a proper tomb for the man. Ye can pile stones outside it if yer set on that. Just so long as he gets what he is owed."

"That'll do."

Nope -- too much cramming means Cladmir hardly retained any useful information.
Cladmir vaguely recalls a note that went something like,
"Yon beasts of snow are best met elsewhere."
Ernos nods to Cladmir's request, "It's only right to help, as thanks for the shelter."

"Yes, this seems a good day for that, at least the sun is shining. Let me get myself suitably dressed for the snow and I will join you all shortly."
Cladmir simply nods and prepares to move out with the group.
As the group emerges they can see they'll fairly easily be able to head to the east rocky outcroppings.
It's icy, slippy and cold but manageable.
What is hard is that many crevices in the rocky area seem to have been filled with snow, making it more difficult to make out the 'best' spots.
