Tests and Trials Game Thread

Joe will hold onto Kroshav and do a dodge action.

Kroshav feels a halfling wrap up on him from behind...

Seeing Jaq move Cladmir decides to follow, but not being anywhere nearly as nimble he would instead move more slowly and quietly and stick to the walls and shadows to avoid any attention.

Stealth:  10

Cladmir moves slowly into a completely dark space after Jaq. He hears running water and the occasional slurping sound but sees nothing.  He figures he is pretty well hidden. Probably.

((I would give you a map but you're spread over two floors and in-between them. Right now only one drow is visible to Mikram, so none of the PC's can see a drow.))

Kroshav retreats, javelin held ready for the chance to toss.

Kroshav retreats down the stairs and no drow follow behind him.

((Okay, I am going to take us out of initiative unless someone wants to go back upstairs in the near future?

Once Lurn gets down there the golems are standing and waiting, unmoving.))

"Ok, good, looks like everyone is down here.   Can we get some light and then head further from the stairs so they don't try to snipe at us.  That's what I'd do."   

Looking over at Cladmir and Mik, Jaq smiles, "Well, we survived that, and now we can get you both to somewhere safe where you can all rest up and get some of your strength back.  Just so you know the librarian here is a naga.  So that's a very old, wise, and friendly snake woman; in case you didn't know."

"That was quite the collapse.  They're starting to take measures against us, we'll not be able to keep up with the hit and run for too long.  At least they're down another wizard, though."

Mikram listens uncomprehendingly and asks in Dwarven,

"One side of the main tunnel in is likely collapsed, aye, but what of the other direction? We won't know until we check it that the job is done. Or ye can just hope."

He eyes the golems that are just standing in the mud, presumably on the backs of other golems.

Cladmir suppressed a shudder when he heard Jaq mentioning a snake lady, but took heart and smiled at the thought of having a chance to rest some more.  Just keeping up with everyone was an ordeal and he was glad they did not get into a big fight until now.  "A rest would be wonderful," he said wistfully.

"These stone boys look ready for a ruckus... any way to turn them on the drow? Bet they don't get sleepy when shot with poison darts!", Kroshav wonders.

((How long you hanging before you cross the mud area to get into the tunnels to the library?))

"I'm guessing they'll only keep the drow out of this level, unfortunately." ((Lurn's ready to keep moving asap))

Once Lurn translates "Ah donnae worry, once we get ta safety Ah'm goin' ta summ'n anoth'r famil'ar n have it scout out tha area and summ'n it back."

"I suppose it was too much to hope we could manage it all in one foray.  And the next time they'll set even tougher defences.  Maybe we aim for that and take out more of their forces then?"

If Lurn and his light source go somewhere, Kroshav is following. He'll continue carrying Joe over the muddy part.

The golems don't stop the party from crossing over the slick and uneven mud pit. Shortly after reaching the other side another, not muddy golem intercepts the party and leads them to a decidedly not happy looking Librarian.

"Was thine mission a success? The Drow that remain but the survivors? A new survivor of the drow as well?"

She snakes over to inspect Cladmir stating only,

"Starved and weakened."

Before casting her gaze over the rest of the group.

"Apologies for coming back so quick. Did you hear the tunnel drop? We fought and dropped a few drow, but got the tunnel collapsed, but found a new friend, he'll be a good ally in getting the job done, he's just a bit tired and needs a rest so he can help us clear the rest of them out. Don't suppose you have anything that can help against their poisoned bolts, do you? They had most of us napping at one point."

The Librarian shifts her reptilian gaze to Kroshav.

"I felt a minor tremor, yes. So the threat of drow reinforcements has been dealt with? Which 'job done' are you meaning?"

She doesn't blink as she awaits the answers.

She'll then reply to his question about something to deal with the drow's bolts and arrows with slow, meaningful look all around the massive book filled stone cavern then back to Kroshav with a raised eyebrow.

"No."
