Listening to the discussion, Jaq nods in agreement. "Sounds like a good compromise. Check out these rooms, and then some sleep for our new companion so that he will not look quite so ready to faint."
He will not rush with either the looking for the traps, nor the lockpicking. "They are liking using traps as we've seen, so let's be very careful. Joe, can you back me up here with looking for traps again?"
Jaq will get help with checking and opening the door, but he makes sure everyone other than Joe moves as far away as possible and out of the straight line of the doorway.
Jaq and the rest move south to the next room's wide door.
The first thing he notices on inspecting it is that the symbol of Lolth has been lightly carved into the door with some red paint in the middle. Joe spots something in the red heart of the larger symbol that looks out place and sorta magicky.
((Arcana checks from any spellcaster that would like to take a look at the symbol to identify it.))
Jaq gives the symbol a professional inspection but can't quite place it. It looks more than a bit like some of the more complicated alarm traps, but not exactly. Certainly doesn't look like the damage dealing symbols he is aware of.
((Going in and ignoring it or trying to disarm it? Sleight of hand to try and damage it in a way to disable it, flat roll from Jaq to or disadvantage from Joe since she doesn't understand it as well.))
Shooing everyone else away, he makes sure everyone else is back far away, he even suggests Cladmir, at least, hurt as he is, moves out the other door for now, maybe even everyone do that.
Then when everyone is ready, he gets out some theiving tools he has not used too often yet, even in practice. It is a wooden stick, thicker than his lockpicks. The end he is holding has been covered with a gooey once, but now hardened and rubbery tree resin. The other end has a shorter, heavy, stiff and thick wire sticking out of the wood. He takes out round piece of cork and put it on the end of the wire and then, taking a deep breath, steadying his hands, takes the tool up to the magic glyph and tries to find the right part of it to smudge, so that the magic dissipates harmlessly.
Jaq begins scrapping at what he thinks are the trigger elements of the glyph then works his way in to get the main threads. After a few precise movements of the tool the glyph glows very faintly then goes dark. Figuring that is as good as signal as he is going to get Jaq turns his attention to the lock and makes quick work of it.
The first thing of note is that the room's corners and ceiling are covered in webs and a number of small spiders crawl through it. The spiders don't seem to interested or aware of your entering the room. At the far end of the room sits a stone altar with a woman/spider combo carved into it. The altar is stained with blood and over it hangs a cobweb covered symbol of Lolth. To one side of the room there is a heavy looking bed bed with fine sheets and on the other there is an equally heavy looking carved desk with a tidy row of books. A quick glance would show them to be in a language no one recognizes (abyssal?). The desk has three drawers.
An open chest sits at the end of the bed with a some clothes and a small stack of letters in elven.
<Kroshav? Are you coming out soon? It is cold and Charlie is getting hungry. I'm getting hungry. It is cold and boring. When are you coming back so we can eat and leave? Did I say it was snowing? It is snowing.>
<We found another prisoner in here, he's not doing well, but we want to end the drow threat... think they're between us and the exit. I don't know how long it will be. I'm sorry, I'll try to hurry.>

"C'mon, you all, we have a room to explore!" he states with what is probably a bit of pride in his voice when he gets the door to open without a problem. "But there are webs, so there are spiders. Not sure what kind. Please don't set them on fire Joe."
Joe goes to one of the drawers but freezes when she hears there are spiders in this room. She immediatly has a mote of fire n hand, shaking in fear. Her breathing abd heart rate increase as her fear looms around the corner. “Ah…Ah’m going to help Kroshav keep watch.” Joe backs out of the room and quickly gets out, fire still in her hand. She stands by Kroshav, shaking and striken with fear.

(sorry, my weekend went...to the dogs)

Doesn't look all that magicky too Kroshav, just a red smug with squiggles.

Joe blinks away some dust as she looks at the whatever it is.
It certainly looks like a magical symbol but she doesn't recognize it or what it would do, exactly. Doesn't look...explody.
As a rogue, what does Jaq know about de-magicfying/disarming magical symbols from his training?
((I'd say a bit, ya. It'd be on the job sort of knowledge to recognize the common, and uncommon, wards as well as how to disable/avoid them.
Go ahead with the arcana roll. We keep that lockpick roll until you actually use it.))

Unless Sword draws his attention to anything in the room, Kroshav will post up in the hallway to keep watch with her.

Sword is completely disinterested in the room.
He would be getting from Eula as things go along,
