The first door on the north (right) side of the hallway you notice has a large red X painted on the stone door, and the sounds of violent banging and heavy objects being thrown about emanates from the chamber beyond. Otherwise the time passes without issue.
(You may all take a long rest, assuming someone keeps a fire burning all night.)
Bones cannot keep his eyes off the stone door, and has a fitful rest! Upon waking, he prays and then checks on everyone's health, especially concerned to see if new symptoms have arisen or issues have progressed even further for our infected comrade. After eating rations, Bones suggests leaving the fire going as part of a fallback point.
"Okay, everyone good to go? Sounds like we got lots more new friends just past this door... Do we want to make a plan or something? Maybe lure them in here to finish them, using the fire for crowd control?"
“Aye doc, we could do that. Or we could just leave them door alone. That’s what I vote for anyway.”
Cade makes his suggestion and suggests trying the south door on the right instead. However, if the others insist, he will draw his sword and stand at the ready for whatever is behind the door.
You find the southern door unlocked, as a cold wind howls through the collapsed east wall of this huge chamber, whose far side is completely submerged under frigid seawater. A dense bed of kelp grows up from the submerged floor, obscuring any sight of what lies below. Broken glass and the remains of shattered tables cover the floor in the dry section of the room.
Cade pulls up his hood and tightens his coat. He walks up all the way to the edge of the water. “Per’aps there is somethin’ down there. Safe from looters. What do ya think?” He asks the others.
Cade also spends a few minutes to go through the debris on the land to look for anything useful or valuable.
If nothing of note can be found in the room and nobody wants to investigate the water any further, Cade would move on to the south door on the left.
You can see a chest in the water against the back wall, still closed up, but you also see four giant crabs moving in and out around the kelp ridden submerged floor.

"Oh - right! I hadn't thought of that. Yes, by all means let's avoid that door if we can!" Bones perks up noticeably!
" Lets leave it for now....its been marked for a reason."
“Yeah, if we get into another fight in there, we might have to rest and we would lose time.”

(make a perception check)
" Careful....be easy to catch a chill from swimming in that....though I guess I could warm you up afterwards."
Gellwin assists Cade with looking about the place. ( Help Action)
Perception: 16
You can see a chest in the water against the back wall, still closed up, but you also see four giant crabs moving in and out around the kelp ridden submerged floor.
Bones looks around the others, then at the crabs. He leans down towards the water, and loudly speaks at the crabs.
(( Forest Gnome ability Speak with Small Beasts (PHB, pg. 37): You can communicate simple ideas with Small or smaller beasts. ))
"Friendly. Can we pass?"
(The crabs are medium sized so this won't work)
Gellwin cast Faerie Fire on the crabs hoping to startle them into retreating into the water.
Cade steps back and looks at Gellwin and Bones, impressed. “Good ideas, fellows.”
Some of the kelp and the box begin to glow as well as two of the crabs, but they seem determined to stay in the water amongst the kelp.
" We need to have a look in that chest if the sea-bugs will let us."
“I have an idea…”
Petros throws 3 rations into the water away from the chest in an attempt to draw the crabs away.
Animal Handling (if that’s used): 4
One of the crabs works over a little bit, takes a poke, but doesn't seem particularly interested. The rest seem content to simply stay where they are.
