"He didn't say a damn word, except for all that rubbish about the Stormlord."He pulls the archer close to him as he continues to haul him towards Sgt Yorrum, and growls into his face "But he will." But then Tor appears to have a thought. Tyrel's face flashes in his mind's eye, and he stops, turning to face the tiefling. "Wait. Are you one of those damned mind readers?"
Vandeyr moves closer to join the conversation and puts a hand up towards Tor.
"Whoa now, slow your roll. Not sure you noticed, but the folks here helped. Rawlings there included. Now, are you saying you're going to ignore what's in front of you, or are you going into town?"
Rawlings gives a nod to Vandeyr as they join and add logic to the conversation. "Mind reader? No, I just cast a spell to read his thoughts to try and avoid all this and get straight to the point. Which I now have, and yet we are still arguing about it. This thing" motioning to the archer, "is currently thrilled that his plan is working and keeping us from Leilon. Can we go now?"
Convinced there were no wounded among the townsfolk, Siegfried trots back over to the group. He nods to the newcomers. "Thank you, kind souls, for the assist. I am Brother Siegfried, most humble servant of Chauntea, the Earthmother. It seems you have already made introductions with the others." He then turns his attention to the surviving archer. "So... what does the blackguard have to say for himself?" he asks Tor.

"Not exactly. I'm Vandeyr. I... Well, I'm a lot of things. I can help. I know a small bit of magic and swordplay. Please, allow me to help. My brother and I live in town, I won't let whatever this is happen without doing my part."
"Oh, a spell." Tor doesn't sound impressed. "You should have said. We'd better get into town then."
To Siegfried he responds "He's not said anything that wasn't about drowning and the Stormlord and blah blah blah, but apparently he was thinking about a ritual going on in the town. We're going to go break it up." And to Rawlings and Vandeyr,"Sounds like you two are on board but just to make sure... Are you coming?"
He'll deposit the archer ideally with Sgt Yorrum, but basically just the nearest soldier, with the instruction to take him to whatever is serving as the town gaol right now, and hold him for questioning.
(Sorry all, real life has been pretty busy recently)
The archers seemed more concerned with causing fear than actually hitting a target, so none of the townsfolk have anything more than superficial wounds.
The last remaining archer continues to rant about the "Stormlord's judgment upon the unworthy." Sgt. Yorrum views him with distaste when you deposit him in front of the soldier (One of the archers was a half-orc, the other was a half-elf, I don't remember which one you captured). "I'll handle him. You're going into town? We'll stay here in case any more show up." he says to Tor.
Ace sneers at Yorrum in disgust. Oloven approaches and says to Tor quietly,
"Despite his cowardice, Yorrum is right. Some of us should stay here in case more return. I can stay here with Tyrel and Ace, you take these others with you to town. Maybe they'll want to join the Swords after?"
(If Ace is done, we'll figure it out from here, but if he's still playing it's easy enough for him to join you in town later; he hasn't answered my PM).
Tor accepts Yorrum's plan dismissively, "Fine. I'll come find you later, see what he has to say."
He listens to Oloven with resignation. He could see Oloven being a great deputy, but as soon as they had arrived he had felt the half-orc's focus shift to his family. Of course he would want to stay with them, and Tor could see his involvement with the Swords being limited to their brief journey. Tyrel had already stated his time with them had ended, and Ace... A ragtag force like The Swords were probably beneath him. Oh well. He'd gotten them this far, and there was no obligation on them to stay.
He claps Oloven on his shoulder and nods. "That's fine. Keep a close watch. Be with your family."
Looking round at Siegfried, Rawlings and Vandeyr, he assesses them for a brief moment. He's seen the Brother in the full flow of battle. This skirmish had been too quick to properly judge the other two. Let's see what they're really capable of. "Okay. Let's go." He starts to jog towards the town gate with the others in tow.
Rawlings impatiently watches the exchange between everyone, and when Tor sets off towards the town gate, "Finally! Thought we'd have to go visit your family for goodbyes as well before we could go stop this ritual." she stops with that, and jogs after him, checking to make sure the others come as well. She wasn't sure what they were going to find, but figured more coming with them to find out was better.
The party can easily approach the town via the High Road, which heads southeast along the coast, and drives straight through Leilon. Or, if you'd prefer to approach the town in a different manner, let me know.
Vandeyr and Rawlings, who've been present in the "town" for some time, know the layout of the town from personal experience. The others will have seen a map of the town, at least.
The House of Thalivar is a tall tower that's mostly collapsed apart from the first floor, which the Neverwinter Guard have taken over for their garrison. The mage Gallio Elibro is in charge of the Neverwinter Guard, though he generally leaves the day-to-day running to Sgt. Yorrum. (Thalivar was a wizard who supposedly built the tower over a hundred years ago, prior to the spellplague that ravaged the land.)
The only intact stone building is the Shrine to Lathander. It was the first temple to be reconstructed, thanks in large part to the donations of the church, and serves as schoolhouse during the day, and general meeting place when the majority of the populace needs to meet. Its white façade bearing the mark of Lathander.
There are a few intact wooden buildings, mostly along the water, the largest of which is the Fishery which is already functioning and is hoped to support the town while they rebuild. It's next to the Barge Yard, where boats and fishing equipment is built and repaired..
Another wooden building is Aubrey's Peculiarities Shop. This shop is crammed with curiosities dredged from the ruins of Leilon: old fishing rods, swamp idols, mining helmets, and other oddities. A whimsical Illuskan male named Aubrey Silverspun runs the store.
Outside the town to the south is the Settler Camp, where the majority of the town's business takes place while they're rebuilding and where the majority of the townsfolk live. Presumably, the rest of the townsfolk is either there or escaped town to the south.
(If you want Oloven or Tyrel or Ace to accompany you either now or in the future, I will happily run them as NPCs, btw)
As you're preparing to depart, Oloven searches frisks the Archer who he's taken charge of and notes, "Hey, boss, you might want this." And tosses Tor a potion of healing (greater) that he took off the Archer.
"Remember to keep on the lookout for the children," Brother Siegfried reminds the party as they approach Leilon. "Whatever else may be happening here, we must make their safety a priority."

From your own time in the town and your own unique approach to magic you feel like there's some latent magic around the House of Thalivar that's particularly keyed to some kind of extraplanar summoning, but you don't think that's where this summoning is happening.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Siegfried will hurry to match pace with the others. He will do his best to take in the sights of Leilon, while simultaneously watching for signs of both this 'ritual' and the missing schoolchildren. Perception: 8

Vandeyr is a learned individual with a particular interest in places of historical, religious, and magical places of interest.
Could I roll to see if he might know or intuit where a summoning ritual be performed in this town?

You sure can, that would be an Arcana check.
Although Rawlings already saw in her detect thoughts:
That the ritual was at the edge of the water in front of the Fishery.
