Sigi grimaces and shakes his head at Tor. Or perhaps he was already grimacing, gagging at the noxious stench coming off of those two towering freakshows.

The hulking, rotting figures pause in their fight as they turn to see what was making so much noise. When they see all but Rawlings (their passive perception is 13), they release a vicious roar. They push apart from each other, and show their tusks as much at one another as at the party.
Unwilling to risk losing the juicy meal that's just blundered into them, they ready themselves to attack.
Everyone roll initiative. Rawlings, you're still hidden from them so you'll have advantage on any attack you make this first round.

Their movement among the reeds and standing water of the Mere obviously was enough to call attention to their presence. As the trolls turn and posture, moving in their direction, Tor lets out a quiet "Damn swamp." Give him good solid land any day. And now they would have to fight, use energy they would surely need once they caught up with the lizardfolk. Better try to get this done quickly.
He reaches back and grips his maul, ready for the onslaught.
Brother Siegfried, motivated by Vandeyr's warning, clutches his amulet. "Mother, preserve us!" he cries, and fires off a guiding bolt toward the uglier of the two trolls. Unfortunately, in his haste his aim was errant, and the bolt sails off into the mire, uselessly.
[Accidentally rolled in the game log. 12 to hit; 18 Damage.]
He then braces himself (and his nose) for the incoming assault.

After Brother Siegfried's spell, the two rot trolls charge the party, one attacks Brother Siegfried and the other seems to move away from the spell caster, towards Tor. Both have gaping wounds and open sores, some appear to be old, but most from their recent fight with each other. Nevertheless, the wounds don't seem to hinder them as they angrily roar and charge forward.
Additionally, since both Tor and Brother Sigi are within 5 feet of the trolls at the end of their turn take 10 necrotic damage, unless they make a DC 13 Constitution save, in which case they would take half damage.

One of the troll's claw attacks penetrates Sigi's chain, its filthy nails raking his flesh. He grits his teeth and tries to withstand the wave of foulness that washes over him.

Vandeyr produces a small, lidded jar and tips it over to produce a small drop of something viscous which quickly grows into a flaming sphere the size of a person's head and smells of sulfur and brimstone.
He gestures and the sphere moves to the back of the troll attacking Tor and rams it!
If you could put it right between the south troll and that little green guy on the map, please and thank you. The troll needs to make a dex save DC 16 or take 16 fire damage, half on a successful save

Rawlings watches as the trolls descend on Tor and Brother Siegfried. Staying hidden, she raises her hand and tries to blast the one by Siegfried with her Eldritch Blasts..
As the disgusting troll descended on him with dripping fangs, Tor shoved the head of his maul up into its mouth where it bit down harmlessly. Seeing one claw slashing through the air Tor dodges, only to find himself in the path of a second claw which he has no time to avoid. (21 dmg)
There is an almighty burst of light from within the trolls own mouth as the maul head emits a sudden pulse of radiant energy. (DC 16 or troll blinded until end of trolls next turn).
(Will wait to make Tor's attack till I know if he has advantage or not.)

Vandeyr stealth 12
Nature 15
Vandeyr proceeds to pass Rawlings a bottle, just in case.
"Brother Siegfried's vision makes more sense now. We should make sure there aren't any members of the patrol here."
The bottle for Rawlings grants 10 feet flight speed.

Brother Siegfried is given a nudge and a word to warn him just prior to the trolls turning, and acts faster! Putting him just ahead of the trolls
