“Good gods.. Alright, I’ll check over here! ,” Aaron climbs down from the wagon, and starts looking for drag marks in the dirt and grass to the north side of the cart.
Investigation - 15
William doesn’t see any signs of fleeing bandits. Looking to the north of the cart into the grass, he can see some blood trail and eventually a lump in the grass, that appears to be a body. Not far from the opens chest. When you approach for a better look, you a pan see, another body, not far off between a few large boulders.. the nearest body has huge wounds in the back, looking like they were done with a large axe of some kind, the grass and dirt is saturated with blood. You assume this man was killed while running away
The first man is dead for sure and soon as you see the second body you are completely certain. This one’s head is splattered across the rocks by what you assume was a bunt weapon of some kind, a hammer, mace or something of that sort. There is a short sword laying near this body, not of particularly good make, but you can tell this one at least tried to defend himself before his grisly end
Sasha rushes over where Aaron is calling, hoping she doesn't recognize the bodies. "There was some tracks leading over there." She says, pointing in the direction of the steep outcropping, cleary shaken over the mangled bodies on the ground.

Aaron goes to the body with the smashed head, avoiding looking at the grisly mess directly. He picks up the mans shortsword, gripping it with white knuckles and examining the blade for evidence of use against the man's attackers, " I am no expert, but from what I can tell, this is cold blooded murder. Whoever did this needs to answer for their crimes."
The sword is old and well used with many nicks and dings from use. There is no blood on the blade indicating, if it was used it wasn’t successfully applied to the enemy
Not seeing anything (and wasting that nat 20 😂)Luke whistles to the group. “We’d better make camp soon somewhere. I don’t think making camp here would be the best idea”
"Do you mean we should go after whoever did this?" Sasha says looking at Aaron. "I'm not saying we shouldn't but what about our animals?"
Aaron looks to the animals, seeming to have forgotten they were there, "I.. I don't know. It seems the right thing to do - I can't stomach the thought of letting whoever did this get away with it. Who's to say they won't do it again if we don't stop them? What if they took somebody with them and they're torturing them right now?" He shakes his head, hoping that isn't the truth.

( I know..sucks how that goes sometimes, but it could have easily paid off as well)

Gerty checks out the campsite with her friends, a look of concern across her face. "We can't just leave them here like this. We should give them a proper burial after we see if we can find whoever did this. Can you imagine if these murderers were headed towards our village? anyone have a clue as to which way they might have gone?" she acknowledges the worry about the animals, "Maybe a couple can stay behind, bury the dead and watch the animals while the rest of us try and locate the killers?"

"Well dibs for going after them."Sasha says quickly with determination, then turning to Aaron. "You were right wanting to go after them Aaron, I do too, it is the right thing to do, but as Gerty said, we probably need someone to watch the animals too."She says, laying an encouraging hand on Aarons back.
Sasha then looks around for a bird or some other animal that might have been witness to what happened. Perception: 17
William goes and checks the chest, using his rapier to poke around.
Investigation: 16 (rolled in game log)
The chest has been cleaned out of any thing valuable, there are few remaining pieces of clothing, a rolled up peace of parchment with a piece of ribbon tying it closed some other papers that have been torn. From the few fragments you can see they were inventory sheets or orders of some sort. It seems these folks were in the business of tin smithing

The only birds you see are a couple of vultures circling about, waiting for you to leave so they can get to munching on the dinner laid out before you. They are quite high up and likely out of range for any conversation

“Gods be damned - here in the grass, two of them cut down! Quickly, maybe three still a chance..” Aaron will rush over and check for signs of life.
