Aaron rushed to the place where he could smell the goblins and catches up to goblin3 as he is in the act of retreating. Aaron's animal instincts kick in and he is able to get into range to attack him before he can escape
Aaron pounces on the goblin with two overhead strikes.
Attack: 13 Damage: 4
Offhand Attack: 9 Damage: 4
Aaron takes 2 mighty swipes at the fleeing goblin who manages to dodge them both as he rushes deeper into the trees and bushes. The scent of Aaron’s quarry driving him nuts. He can hear the goblins heart beating wildly as it moves to evade certain death.
Gerty follows Aaron ( she can’t smell what he does) and catches goblin3 just as he is about to vanish into the brush. Her silvered axe severs his leg and he quickly bleeds out from the femoral artery.
For a moment, as the goblin breathes his last breath everything goes silent….for a moment. from deeper within the trees the voice of boss Ickor rings out, anger and anguish lacing his words….” Curse you long legs !!! Gorf will be avenged! Dungho, will be avenged!!! Chef will be avenged!!!!their Spirit s will haunt you forever, I curse thee…by the blood of goblin2 and the under Gods of wrath!!!!”
you hear the sound of goblin2 being disemboweled and the rustle of branches and bushes as Ickor disappears deeper into the forest. It grows calm again, the bleeding of sheep and mooing of cattle accompanied by your breathing is all you hear now.
Sasha rushes over to her fallen and wounded sheep, silently cursing herself for trying to take them to Mirabar, tears steaming down her face as she moves between one sheep to the other, not seeming to know where to start or what to do, this pointless carnage almost draining the last of her strength to go on.
Luke walks over to Sasha seeing her crying looking at her sheep. He tries to console her and offers a suggestion "I know this is less than ideal but what if we all pitched in and spent some time sheering the sheep so at the very least you can earn some money for their wool? We all have little knives, I have a few daggers, Maybe sheer them and cart their carcasses the rest of the way for meat? I don't know how good of an idea that is, I am sorry Sash...." Luke looks down and kicks the ground a bit feeling embarrassed over his suggestion and sad for Sasha.
Overwhlemed by all the sheep and cattle lying dead around her, Sasha slumps down on her knees on the road, still crying, not really able to speak but glancing up at Luke, nodding with a slight grateful smile.
Aaron stands over the slain goblin, breathing heavily. Steam wisps off him and his eyes dart in the direction of the voice of Ickor. With his eyes locked in the direction, he says without much thought between breaths, "That one, more than any other, must die. We should run it down and tear it apart while we have the chance."
Aaron holds his gaze for a moment, before glancing at Gerty. His expression and body language changes to take on a more relaxed presence, "Nothing but a few scrapes and cuts, I'll live. Let's check on the others." He stows his shortsword and handaxe, and a look of concern covers his face as he sees the others and the fallen animals. "Shit," he utters under his breath as he makes his way towards them, "Is everyone okay? Sasha, you hurt?" He says as he kneels down to her, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I...I don't think so...but my flock...and your cattle..." Sasha manages to say as she keeps crying, looking at the dead animals on the ground around her, laying a hand on Aaron's. "I should never have left Longsaddle...I can't protect my flock."
Loran is quiet as he Forlornly wanders between the Bodies of Goblins and Livestock. Too focused on the aftermath to worry about his injury. Crouching down to check on Sheep and Cows. "Oh... Oh No No No!Please this cant be happening..." He loved these sheep, Selling them was going to be hard enough but now? He couldn't even protect them... Loran chokes back tears as he surveys the damage. He'd killed to defend his flock but it didn't even seem to matter.
Atleast the rest of the group is okay...
