Luke scratches a bit "Well Will looks like all that piccolo playing has paid off" Luke mistakenly references a piccolo as he never did get William's obsession with playing instruments "....thanks but whatever you did certainly has made the pain go away. Thanks, friend"
As Cartwright and crew lead you back through the dining room, a few of the guys fill their mugs with brandy, and then proceed back through the hallway to the double door at the intersection . One of the doors is now off the hinges, laying on the ground. Inside is a 30’x40’ room with a stairs leading upward. Inside the room are 6 goblin corpses that Mr Cartwright noted were a bit feisty at the unannounced visit. There is broken furniture, torn tapestries laying around. There are similar murals on the walls, but these have been altered a bit. All the humanoid figures have crudely painted goblin heads. One image of a king being crowned has a goblin face looking actually quite like Ickor, the goblin boss. continuing up the stairway and down a long hallway you reach a single door made of stone the exits the dungeon on a hillside covered in dense bushes and vines. it’s no wonder nobody knew of this place, if it were not for Mr Cartwright’s men chasing the goblins here, the door would never have been found.
Mr Cartwright escorts you back to deliver Mikel to his mother and she helps tend to all your wounds and promises a reward after the sale.
With that, you all make it back to town. Hero’s of the day. The taste of adventure wetting your lips, you are ready for the festivities and some rest. Arrangements have been made for you all to stay at the inn called the “ Gilded Horseshoe”
Sasha follows along, taking a quick sip of brandy herself on her way out, scrunching her cute face as she tastes it. She giggles a bit at the goblin drawings on their way out.
As they say goodbye to Mikel she leans down to hug him and gives him a kiss on the cheek. "I'm sure you will be a brave adventurer one day." She says with a warm smile before leaving.
As she enters the Gilded Horseshoe she is quick to take center stage, telling all those present of the daring adventures of a five brave farmers, generously adding flourish and flavour to the story, using the misty visions of her fey wand to illustrate the vile goblins, their bugbear chef and last but not least the fearsome Bidderboo.
She also offers to entertain the patrons playing her flute, asking Will to join her for a duet if he wants. She will defintely try the wine and party all night long.
"Hey! Did you say protection? I know I could use some armor, mind if I join you boys?" Gerty, thrilled to be out from underground and holding her new axe, is ready to see what else she can do with it.
Luke smiles "Of course Gert. Looks like Sasha has found her niche here singing and telling stories of our bravery. Will has an emerald he wants to sell, maybe we could use that to buy some real gear!"
Gerty looks at Will with surprise, then gives him a playful little punch in the arm. "Well, aren't you sweet! But yeah, lets go try on something fun. This is exciting!" At Luke's comment, she just raises an eyebrow at him, then smiles. Too good of a mood to rib him for that one.
That's ok, I'll think of something! Come, I believe "The Gambling Golem" is owned by a Harpell!
William leads Luke and Gerty to The Gambling Golem. Before they enter William tries to find a spot where he can use Disguise Self to make him look like a wealthy Human merchant.
(want me to roll a performance check? I rolled a 22 in the game log)
( yes, a performance check will be good. I have to make the npc, so tomorrow on my break I will have an update.)
the Gambling Golem seems sort of a seedy joint for being owned by a Harpell family member. The dried up planks that make up the exterior siding are dirty and stained from the Gods know what and there are many small holes made by woodpeckers or termites..not sure which. It is a very busy place with all the people from out of town here to try and extend their purchasing power via dice games or cards. You can hear the loud laughter and sounds of triumph as well as the sobs of the losers. As you are just about to head around to the back alley to shift your appearance, two large men with bulging muscles toss a drunken dwarf out the front doors. You figure he must have ran out of luck at the tables…
Walking past the drunken dwarf William quikly asks Luke and Gerty to guard the back alley as he runs in. There William casts his spell and he feels pretty confident that he looks like how a gem merchant would look like. When he walks out of the alley Luke and Gerty see Human that's a feet taller than William, has dark blonde hair, white skin and hands that never have seen a day of hard working. He's wearing fine dark blue clothes and some jeweled rings. The merchant addresses Luke and Gerty.
Hmmm. You two will do. You'll escort me to the mr. or mrs. Harpell that runs this establishment , there's a silver in it for the both of you. Come on, lead on!
It's clearly William's voice, although his demeanor has changed completely.
Realizing she may be waiting a while for the others to hopefully join her at the Gilded Horseshoe, Sasha looks around the cosy tavern for some interesting company after her perfomance, preferably a young dashing man, as she now has a few well earned pieces of gold to spend on good wine for herself and any company she may get.
(Maybe even running into Aaron if he is approachable ;-)

When the party leaves William uses the Minor Illusion cantrip to make it sound like there is a Bidderboo in the kitchen. Just in case.

You're welcome, Luke! We''ll need to get you some protection if you plan on any more of these adventures! Haha!
He then looks at his own injuries and chuckles a bit.

Say Luke, wanna see if the Harpells like the Emerald I found? We can do some shopping afterward?

Luke nods "Yes if we are going to be adventurers, I am going to need some protection. You could probably use some too eh?"

Ah man! I wanted to surprise you with a chainmail or something! But I guess it's best if you come with us. You may want to try it on first.

Luke blushes at ruining Will's surprise "Sorry Will, I didn't realize....I figured Gerty should try on the armor giving her....uhh.... stature""
Oh well, let's go find a Harpell. I think those guys are the only ones that can afford an Emerald.
Also, I think I learned Rikaria's trick to change the way I look. Do you know how a gem merchant would look like?

Luke shrugs "I ain't never seen one of them fancy fellas" Luke laughs as he does his best impersonation of his father
