"Don't you worry Mrs. Longwater, we'll find Mikel for you, you just stay here if he comes back by himself." Sasha says, trying to reassure the woman.
Eager to find Mikel, Sasha then runs after Will into the woods, hoping to be able follow any tracks left for them. Survival/Perception: 4 "Please try to not upset Mrs. Longwater any further Will, we're all coming, Shariel is just getting a pitchfork I think." She says to Will as they move deeper into the woods.
Luke shakes his head and mumbles to himself. "Well, there they go barreling ahead. Trampling any leads we may have." Luke sighs and takes a different root cautiously looking about for clues and anything waiting to lay a trap
Shariel retrieves the pitch fork from the wagon, it has a fairly sturdy shaft and solid tines. One of the tines is bent inward slightly, but seems it will make a decent weapon.
( for the pitchfork use weapon stats for a trident, minus the thrown capability)
You follow the signs, footprints and broken twigs like bloodhounds deeper into the forest. Luke is taking a parallel path off to the right to ensure no clues go unnoticed. A sense of urgency builds up within your party as the reality of the situation takes hold. After about 15 minutes, Luke finds a pirate hat caught on a bush.
"I bet he was, this is taking way too long to find the little guy, I'm getting worried myself." Gerty starts looking around where Luke found the hat, hoping more traces will be found.
(Can that nat 20 be used here for survival since it didn't gain us anything earlier?? :) )

(Yes, we can use that roll for here)
As you scour the area around the bush for more clues, Gerty notices there is a depression amongst the dense bushes. Closer inspection reveals what looks to be the remains of on old well and the bushes that were covering it are broken and smashed into it. A small wooden approximation of a sword is sitting next to the rock base. Peering over the side it is dark, you can’t quite see the bottom. The opening is about 2 1/2 diameter.
(Christ! A well? The idea of a little kid falling in a well is genuinely WAY scarier than goblins!)
Rikaria goes pale. She runs to the lip of the well and calls in "Mikel? Are you in there??"
She doesn't wait for an answer. In her gut, she already thinks she knows what's happened. She turns to Luke and says "Luke, have ya still got that rope?"
Shariel runs up, pitchfork in hand, and throws down the traveling sack she'd slung over her shoulder. "Mikel! Hey, Mikel, you down there?!" She works to spool out a long line of rope tucked within the pack. "Gerty, you and me probably have the best eyes for a job like this. I'll drop in first. We should probably get down there first. I'll take the lead."

You tie the rope off on a nearby tree and lower the end into the well. You can feel the end of the rope reach the bottom. Shariel gets about 1/2 way down the rope and as her eyes adjust to the darkness, she can just make out the well bottom in tones of grey. There is a bit of rubble and what appears to be some kind of opening or cavity to the north side bottom wall. You see what looks like a boot near the cavity.
roll an athletics check to see if you make it the rest of the way without losing your grip

Shariel can't help an exclamation at Sasha's question, "Damnit, there's a small boot down here. Gerty, everything's sturdy, come on down. Looks to be a small tunnel, too."

As Shariel calls out above, she loses her grip and slides down to the bottom at a fast clip, the rope burning her hands as she hits the rubble pile with a thump.
2 dmg between the fall and the rope burn.
Sasha hears the hard landing and sees the puff of dust.
Luke stays behind the group a bit looking at the wood line for traces of what he suspects are goblins that kidnapped the boy.
Come guys! William yells. Mikel is just a little boy, be need to rescue him! You know those green bastards eat little boys, right?
William goes further in the woods, whether someone follews him or not.

"Do you see anything Shariel?" Sasha shouts down the well.
Rikaria silently helps Shariel to secure the rope to the tree. Then she waits nervously with the others to hear what she finds down there.
Gerty nods to Shariel, almost afraid to speak with the thoughts flying through her mind. She's so glad the mom didn't follow them here.
As Shariel is heading down, she finally finds her voice, "Call when you're ready for me to follow you down."
Shariel can't help an exclamation at Sasha's question, "Damnit, there's a small boot down here. Gerty, everything's sturdy, come on down. Looks to be a small tunnel, too."

That's it! I'm coming down! Does anyone have a torch or a lantern?

Luke watches the woods for any lingering goblins as the group heads down.
