Mimic Stealth 11

...a bread basket burps.

Realizing its been found, the basket hops off a table and moves towards Alton.

(The bread basket ends it move 10 ft from Alton.)

Checking to see that the king is gonna be ok, and Enid has finished mug mimic, Vlart moves toward the kitchen, preparing another icy burst.

Gnerkla finishes bandaging the king.  Another gnome enters from the south carrying a healing potion and holds it to the king's mouth.

Enid's turn

Enid draws her dagger and follows Vlart and Alton to the kitchen. 

Alton's turn

Alton swings his club right at the bread basket’s bread basket.

Attack: 17 Damage: 2

The bread basket protects it's bread basket and dodges out of the way of the swing.  It lunges for Alton's throat.Attack: 8 Damage: 5

(I forgot to mention earlier, this mimic is larger than the mug and platter, but nowhere near the size of the barrel crab.)

Alton also protects his bread basket by dodging out of the way of the mimics first attack.

Vlart runs down the hallway and finds Alton and the breadbasket engaged in melee.  Vlart fires a icy burst from a few feet away.

Enid's turn

Enid would still like to speak to a manger. But she assumes this bread basket is also not a manger and cuts at it with sword and dagger.

Damage: 4

Enid stabs the bread basket right in the bread basket, its starts bleeding profusely.  It really wishes it hadn't burped earlier.

Alton's turn

Another club attack.

Attack: 17 Damage: 4

Alton clobbers the bread basket with his club, it looks like its last wicker legs.  But then it swings one at Alton

Attack: 6 Damage: 7

Alton easily dodges the frozen wicker attack.

Vlart blows another frosty attack

Mimic Con Save 5

Bread basket takes 4 cold damage and has disadvantage on its next roll.

The basket is slowed again, both from cold and loss of blood.

You hear king Korboz shouting in gnomish from the dining room.  He sounds better than he did before and he is commanding the other gnomes to take up arms and make sure no more mimics are their home.

Enid's turn

Enid attacks with sword and dagger again. 

Short sword attack: 16

Damage: 7

Dagger attack: 6

Damage: 3

Enid severs bread basket's carry handle from it's body and the basket curls up dead after a couple quivers.  The kitchen is now quiet.

Alton's turn

Alton takes a quick glance around the room and, if no other mimics seem to be present, runs back to the dining room.

Alton runs back and sees the king completely healed.  A crowd of gnomes are less afraid now and several are arming themselves with whatever is close by.  "We must search every inch of Puddleborough.  Make sure no mimics remain."  

Vlart waits on Enid before heading back to the dining room

Enid's turn

Enid remembers someone was bit by a rolling pin. She replaces her dagger with a whip and strikes at the rolling pin. 

Whip attack: 18

Damage: 7

The rolling pin doesn't react.  "Hmm, its possible the rolling pin changed into the bread basket" says Vlart
