Gnomes start to spill out into the southern hallway from the dining room. Poking every wall lantern or loose stone on the way to make sure its not mimic.
The gnome party makes it to area G8. The largest room in Puddleborough, a large warehouse containing 2 racks of wine barrels. Most of the gnomes seem skittish about entering a room this big. This area could house a big mimic if one did live here.
Enid, intent on locating the blasted manager, marches into the corner of the room with the most barrels. She cracks her whip at each rack, targeting a barrel in the center of each rack. If none react, she continues cracking her whip at the others.
None of the barrels react, Vlart and the other gnomes start pelting other barrels with stones and other objects. But none of the barrels seem to care. Within a few seconds, all the barrels and racks have been hit. "Well... maybe theres not a mimic in here..." says Vlart, unsure of himself.
The gnomes head out to the other parts of Puddleborough. The party goes with them, eventually covering the entire community and finding no other mimics. After the search is completed, the gnomes breathe collective sighs of relief as Puddleborough really does seem safe again. "You think the first big mimic we fought might have been the manager?" Vlart says to Enid.
Alton grabs a handful of rocks and puts them in his vest pocket. "Alright, we need to get to the bottom of this. When did these mimics first appear and where could they have come from? Has Puddleborough received any unexpected trade or gifts lately?"
One of the gnomes speaks up. "Orran and Warryn disappeared 5 days ago, and the king was attacked 3 days ago. Everyone just assumed those two were just on another of their adventures. They liked to go explore in Neverwinter Wood.
"We are mostly self-sufficient." says Vlart. "Every once in awhile, some may travel to Phandalin to get some supplies but no one has been there except for me and my brothers in several weeks." Another gnome speaks. "A couple weeks ago, I did travel to Miss Gweyn's to get a couple potions. I...I bought 2, but when i opened my potion case to heal the king, I only had one. Do..do you think one could've been one of the monsters?" The female gnome looks like she might cry.
"Adabra Gweyn is an apothecary that lives in a old windmill few miles to the northwest of here. She brews potions for us and for Phandalin. She's a human acolyte of Chauntea and watches over some farmland there. I don't think she would have done this on purpose." Says Vlart.
“I just want to find the fopdoodling manager!”
Enid moves to the dining room.

Alton's turn
Alton follows their lead, prodding various items with his stick.

(Out of combat, so anyone can post)
Also, Alton and Enid are level 2 now!

“Should we check on Miss Gwen? The missing potion could have been stolen, but if it was a mimic, Miss Gwen may be unaware of the danger.”
"She may be unaware. You could check on her on the way to Neverwinter Wood. What do you think Alton?" Says Vlart
"Sounds good to me. I could use a nice walk anyway after all that feasting and fighting."
