Carrow slides round Flow to surround the second shadow beast (green), unleashing a flurry of blows on the creature. He brings his quarterstaff down on the beast following it with an elbow from his arm holding the torch and finally wheeling around with a roundhouse kick.
Quarterstaff Attack: 20 Damage: 6 Bludgeoning
Unarmed Attack 1: 14 Damage: 7
Unarmed Attack 2: 25 Damage: 9
Carrow unleashes a torrent of strikes on the Shadow, each perfectly landing on it's mark. The Shadow takes massive damage and Carrow can feel it becoming more tangible with each blow. It still takes less damage than Carrow would expect, but the Shadow is still badly bloodied.

The remaining Shadow turns to Hildi, possibly viewing him as an easier target than Barrel, and reaches out to suck the halfling's strength. Attack vs. Hildi: 3 Damage: 7 Strength Drained on Hit: -3
Thanks to his Light Bran can clearly see the battlefield, and wastes not a moment.
In his free hand, Bran conjures a spark of fiery energy that grows to the size of an apple, then hurls it at the Shadow engaged with Barrel and Hildigrim.
The fire bolt strikes the Shadow's cloak, singeing it and sending it spinning on it's heels. It seems horribly injured! It's now faces Bran, an otherworld scowl growing across it's face.

Flow turns to the rest of the group, holding a relatively small leather case in one arm
"I think this might be Jerub's or one of his friends. It's strong crossbow bolts," he says.
He heads upstairs and shows the case and bolts to the (NPCs) group up there.
"Is this one of yours?"
And that's all I have to say about that.
Hildigrim smiles at Bran, Barrel and Carrow. "I believe the coast is clear." He follows Flow back upstairs to deliver the good news.
