Looking to start Castle Amber (5e conversion) module.
Looking to have 6-10 players (Three of these are porting over from another module set in Faerun)
This is an old school "fun house" style dungeon that can be pretty brutal. Expect character deaths. Thus, even if you don't get in the first draft, the castle may call upon you at a later date.
PC's will be 'discovered' via the fate of the dice (Roll your ancestry and your stats, then choose your background and class accordingly):
Roll on the following tables to determine your ancestry

Attributes: Roll 3 sets of stats; 4d6 drop lowest dice re-roll ones once. Choose the set you want, assign stats in order of roll.
Background: Choose your Background well, all backgrounds welcome.
Class: Upon getting your attributes, choose your class. All classes are welcome, but we will not multi-class in this module.
Alignment: Any.
Let me know character details, link to character sheet and a brief backstory.
PbP considerations To try and keep the game moving I will do the following the reflect the fact it's PbP;
- I will roll initiative at the start of combat. - If you think you'll need a skill/ability check include it in your post, or I will roll for you based on the actions in your post. - If a PC is inactive for >24 hours and it's holding up progress I will bot them (a PC won't be able to die this way if it happen in combat, they can be knocked out but stable) - If a PC is inactive for over a week will look to re-recruit.
Other PbP considerations
On occasion, I may provide graphics hosted on Imgur to give you a sense of the battle map. For the most part, however, description will be theater of the mind.
At the end of the module we can take a break if needed, players may leave the campaign, or continue to another module, etc. Will also let the group decide at that point if we want to take a few days break as a group, as PbP is over a long time hopefully this helps with any burnout...

I love the randomness of this.
When you say assign stats in order of roll that means the first number rolled is strength, second is dexterity, and so on, correct, just like old school D&D?
Let's try this again. Deleted previous post due to the dreaded manipulated dice roll banner.

Bran is tall and lean, with quick and graceful movements. A one-time fighter and mercenary, Bran sought out the solitude and peace of an isolated monastery to quell his troubled soul. Found worthy of entrance, he spent years in study and meditation, incorporating lessons in stillness of mind and flow of ki with his previous martial weapons training. He has recently departed on a pilgrimage seeking to apply those lessons outside the monastery walls.

Human (variant) Blood Hunter - Order of the Profane Soul and in the patronage of The Undead
Sam Hall was a soldier. A good soldier. But not a great one. He followed orders, he had the backs of his fellows and he was willing to lay down his life for those who fought with him and those they fought for. And he did.
Sam Hall awoke from death and found himself different. He was colder than before (always cold now...) and more resolute in his purpose. He was no longer just a soldier, he was a fanatic. All that was evil and monstrous and... Well, wrong... had to be eliminated. The foul and wicked must be destroyed so that the good and righteous people of the world can make it the eden that it should be.
In the meantime bargains must be made. Deals. Compromises. (always so cold now...) But once the greater evils are vanquished, the reckoning for the lesser evils shall too come to pass.
((I think I edited once too many times trying to do this bit by bit and the rolls got funky. Weird with no Possibly Manipulated banner or nothing... *shrug* But is what it is, if you don't believe I rolled as reflected on the linked char sheet then just select someone else.))
The numbers changing in my edits and not matching character bugs me… So scratch this off. If I have time to do another before you close then I will. If not, have fun all!
This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

Brief Backstory: Vinny has been the “muscle” in a few small time syndicates. So far he has escaped the hand of the law when his associates have been busted, but he feels his days are numbered. He has been involved in more backstreet fights than he can possibly remember. Taking dives when the bets went that way.
when perner was very young he liked to wander, and wander he did. once when he was walking through the forest he stumbled upon a spring, thinking nothing of it he stopped for a drink, later at home he accidentally cut himself in the kitchen and without thinking drew upon powers he didnt know he possessed to heal himself. trained by a retired adventurer to fight and using his newfound powers, which he discovered, could do more than heal, they could also rot something from the inside with a touch or burn with light. he also left adventuring, maybe it was his dwarven blood that made him leave or maybe it was fate, but he knew he wouldnt return the same person he was before.

Character Details: Makeda is 5'3 of solid muscle and a cheeky grin.
Brief Backstory: Makeda was always headed for trouble, no one grows up an orphan on the streets of Baldurs Gate without getting involved in some shady shit. But she was luckier than most, a lifted purse led to an offer of training, which led to a better way of living.......and then straight back to the streets. But with what she'd learned she had an edge now and she intended to make the most of it.
Name:Thurodim Skullcleaver Race: Half-Orc Class: Barbarian (Berserker) Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Background: Urban Bounty Hunter Backstory: Born in the slums of Baldur's Gate, Thurodim survived the school of hard knocks, growing up to be a fearsome beast of a fighter, also having a knack for tracking people down in the city that didn't want to be found. Taking freelance jobs for a variety of underworld employers and even the Flaming Fists, he one day decided that finding people in Baldur's Gate was not enough of a challenge to him so he left to travel the Sword coast for new adventures.

Alignment: Chaotic Good
Character Details: Telurion does not look like your average knight in shining armor paladin - he has dark disheveled hair, and piercing deep brown eyes. After having been through some tough times in his life, he has a grim posture for those who meet him initially. It takes him a long time to make friends, but once he does, he is a steadfast companion. His gear is not always in pristine condition, but he is trying to improve on his discipline.
Brief Backstory: Telurion comes from an orphan background in the streets, after his parents both died of extreme poverty and sickness - he expected to find kindness and compassion from the neighborhood and other merchants who many times rubbed shoulders with his parents, but he was wrong... Eventually he turned to a life of petty crime just so he could survive, but things were not going well even so. He was 'rescued' by Talian - a wandering warrior who took pity on the starving child, and who would become his mentor in those early years. She taught him the value of trust and friendship when he was at his worse, and brimming with rage for those who did nothing for his parents when they so desperately needed help... And then she was gone,. leaving him with only a cryptic farewell note (which I will detail more as/if we move along), and an apology for stealing away like a thief in the night. She wrote it had to be done, but did not explain anything further, writing only that he was prepared to face the world at large, and should not hesitate in doing so. Telurion managed to find from a guard on watch in which direction Talian had followed out of the city, and in the next day he departed after her without thinking twice. So far he has had no luck in finding any clues about her whereabouts, but he does not intend to give up!

Lady Jimena Lenhareth joined the Order of the Gauntlet as a templar under the influence of the lower member of the aristocratic hierarchy. She was trained to fight the enemies of the order in flesh and honored for her loyalty.
But, she accidentally came to the possession of a 'Muse Mirror' and asked her own reflection out of curiosity, "What if I were you?" Her personality was exchanged with her other form from another timeline which is a female rogue named 'Jemina'.
Jemina stole the identity of Lady Lenhareth to her own advantage but failed to retain it because of her chaotic nature. Thus she decided to return to her timeline where she worked with a group of local militia to assist them with guerilla tactics. For the task, she must earn a considerable amount of money to repair the mirror that she shattered into pieces out of irritation. Incidentally, she gets involved with a group of adventurers while trying to pursue the quest.

Name: Seamus Scott Race(Subrace): Human (Variant) Class: Warlock(Hex Blade - Pact of the Blade) Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Background: Urchin Backstory: Seamus' earliest memories are running through the streets of the Field Ward in Waterdeep the sun shining on the huge smile plastered across his face, city guards chasing after him and the gate keys he'd just stolen from a sleeping guard jingling in his hand. There are no memories of parents or siblings. The streets, the other urchins, the street workers, and rogues of the ward were his family.
As he grew older (a mature 10 or 11), and bolder, he was press-ganged with some other urchins into the crew of a notorious burglar named Smudge. Smudge was trying to increase his reputation by having his own crew so he could attract the attention of the Blackcoats. He was ruthless towards the urchins. If Seamus failed to bring home his quota he was beaten. Seamus tried to runaway and ignore Smudge but he was caught, dragged back and beaten again. Even Seamus' unending supply of enthusiasm was starting to wane.
One night, after a particularly harsh beating, Seamus lay bleeding on the floor of the gang's hideout when he started to hear whispers swirling around his head. He started to make out questions in the whispers. Someone or something was asking him if he wanted the power to deal with Smudge? Would he pledge his allegiance to the whisperer for that power? Seamus nodded yes. He felt something appear in his hand; a cold, black-steel, dagger, ripples of energy flowing across the blade. End him the whispers said. Seamus quickly moved across the room and slit Smudge's throat. When one of Smudge's lieutenants woke to the sound of Smudge's death he raced to stop Seamus. Seamus flicked a hand towards the oafish man and a beam of crackling energy raced from his hand knocking the man down, dead.
The whispers continue to haunt and encourage Seamus, but he still retains his enthusiasm for life, savoring the adrenaline rush after swiping a necklace from a nobles neck, or a wizard's tome from a high tower. No friend of either the Thieves' Guild or the City Watch, Seamus does look out for the urchins of Waterdeep, stepping in when others try to take advantage of them.

Good point... for level 3 assume each character has an additional 300gp to spend on equipment in additional to your starting gold + equipment. Spend that money prior to start of campaign using the standard Equipment List in Player Handbook.
