Yoli feels a sense of dread as the thick mist rolls over his position. He lets out a quiet whimper as dread turns to intense panic that he is almost unable to quell as he hears Scat's maniacal utterance. Frozen with fear, and unable to come up with any better action than to cower in his hiding spot, it takes all of Yoli's willpower to resist jumping up and running away when he hears the howling of the wolves.

As the fog rolls in and blankets the clearing, Kwami's thoughts go dark as well, remembering how everyone he has ever been close to has wound up dead... or worse. He hears the gully dwarf's plaintive question, but resists responding lest he reveal his position to any lurking enemies. When the fog lifts, and the moonlight illuminates an entirely different landscape, his mind reels in confusion, and he clutches the prayer beads in his pocket, muttering a quick prayer to the Morninglord.
"Dark magic is at work here, my... friends,"he whispers. "Keep alert, and keep together. If we are to survive this, we cannot let the wolves single out and surround us one by one. I recommend the mages and the bard stay in the middle, or take to the trees."
The cleric readies his mace and his shield, and stands on the edge of the party, facing outwards, toward the sounds of the wolfpack.

I agree if we divide the party, it is probably wisest to split the healers, but I also don't mind keeping the whole gang together. It is still likely there will be some attrition with time.
with the fog moving in, the bard seems to be concerned. “This fog is, concerning…. Anyone have like a torch or something, maybe we could see better as we walk through the fog”
now that others have spoken aloud, Boil feels he is free to pipe in as well. “ the moon light is quite bright in this space we seem to have been transported, but a bonfire might be a good idea to aid keeping the wolves at bay. I can have one going in a jiffy if you all think that would be helpful…”
he says with a strange eagerness at the chance to make a fire and hence be useful.
Quin looks about in amazement as the fog lifts and the scenery changes. Hearing Yoli's fearful whimper he reaches out a hand and gently place it on the Gnomes shoulder. This is as much to reassure the diminutive wizard as to help steady his own nerves upon hearing both Scat's ominous statement and the sound of the wolves. He nods in agreement at Yoli's request to be quiet. Quin remains quiet himself as he tries to figure out where the fog might have transported them. Having always been more of a city dweller he was definitely feeling out of his element.
"Gah!" Acher yells as he tosses away a thin stick of pine. It had been the size of a man and full of wide leaves moments earlier. He shoots upright and springs back, clutching his spear with desperation. He looks all over his new surroundings in shock, breathing heavily.
As the fog fully dissipates, confusion at their new surroundings permeates the group. Perhaps twenty yards from the groups location, a well-worn dirt road can be seen weaving between the dark trees. Several ravens swoop in and perch in nearby limbs - lightly hopping and cawing loudly. As if being summoned by the raven cries, the wolves continue their howls as they communicate their whereabouts to the pack. The howls are getting closer. The wolves are hunting.

@AbelZylo I was confident Abel would be the one to grasp the current situation as a druid, but then saw the roll. Tough times. LOL
We will stay in one group for now since it seems to be going okay, and folks are settling in. I had to make myself a chart of name, race and class to keep it all straight.
OOC: If we are staying still and waiting, would Abel have time to perform the Talk to Animals ritual so that he can try to communicate with the local ravens?

Realizing the situation, Yoli gets up from his hidden position, and addresses the group as quietly as possible, while still being loud enough to be heard by everyone. "That's the the sound wolves make while hunting, and if that's the case, we won't be able to hide from them. I suggest we head down that road and see if we can find some shelter before they find us"

The sound of the crows squawking combined with the howling wolves does nothing to ease Quins state of mind. He walks around a bit wide eyed trying to figure out his next move.
"We are dug in defensive positions. We have chosen the ground for the fight, if there is one - so why leave?"- Razaniel whispered at Yoli from his hiding place - "Why not let them come to us? You cannot outrun a pack of wolves"
” I think Mr. Razaniel is correct, on this front. It might be less difficult to fight them here in the clearing rather than giving them the chance to ambush us from within the tree line, and we definitely cannot out run them. Maybe it would be advisable for us to call them in?” Boil says. Safely in his tree

Continuing his outward-facing stance, the cleric says quietly, "I do not see any advantage in moving to the road. As has been said, the wolves would easily overtake us if we fled. However... Boil, you mentioned a bonfire earlier. If the wolves enter our clearing, I think that would be an excellent idea, both to startle and perhaps temporarily blind them. They are not known to be fond of flames."

Is it possible to estimate how much time we have before the wolves arrive? Minutes? Seconds?
