Titaani breathes a sigh of relief, dropping the illusion. She cautiously makes her way into the cave. "Hi. We were told you would shelter us for a little while?"

Ben:
Reassured a bit by the lack of any fiendish presences, Ben approaches the cave as well. The man doesn't look threatening, but he does seem to have some strange abilities.
Insight: 6
Assuming he seems genuine to Ben, the stonecutter goes in and waits for him to answer Titaani's question.

"Yes. How many are you? And please describe yourselves. I can't see," he responds in an old, trembling voice. (Ben: He's a tough read, but you don't detect anything immediately off or alarming about him.)
The old, blindfolded man is surrounded by heaps of gold coins on the stone floor – probably tens of thousands of gold coins. He uses them to spin some form of golden yarn, of which he has a healthy supply on hand, next to his spinning wheel.
"Don't take anything," he adds. "For your own good."

"I'm curious about that too," Titaani says, about to inspect a gold coin only to hesitate at the man's warning. "But as for introductions! My name's Titaani Leelathae. I'm a gnome, and I serve the great Archfey Titania. Also, I have this adorable bunny named Tiny. You can pet him if you want!"
Tiny shyly wanders in behind Titaani, sniffing the gold suspiciously.

“I’ve led a cruel and heartless existence," sighs the old man. "My name is Nib. I once earned these riches by exploiting my tenants’ misery, buying up condemned property and renting it out for an exorbitant fee. Granny Nightshade is helping me to make amends. I told her I wanted to put my bad deeds behind me and my ill-gotten gains to good use. She cursed me to dwell forever in this cave, spinning my gold into useful items for anyone who comes my way.” Taking up a pair of knitting needles, he swiftly knits his gold yarn into a golden cloak, and hands it in the direction of Ben's voice. "A gnome! I see! Perhaps you'd like a nice pair of gloves?" He knits at lightning speed, soon producing a beautiful set of golden gloves sized perfectly for Titaani's hands. He hands it to her.
Horatio, Matilda, and Ben glimpse a ghostly figure lurking behind Nib: a grubby child peers over Nib’s shoulder. But quick as a candle’s flicker, she vanishes, and then Horatio spots a gaunt coachman looming in the shadows at the back of the cave. Then he, too, suddenly and silently disappears.
"I don't have any food to share or beds to offer, but you're welcome to stay and rest awhile," continues Nib.
Accepting the gift, Ben says softly, “This is indeed an amazing treasure, thank you, Nib. Are you sure you are cursed forever, or will you eventually pay your penance and be freed?”
”Is there anything we can do to repay your kindness?”
Matilda narrows her eyes at the apparitions, " You have company in your torment?"
" My name is Matilda, and I am here to make a hag give back my brother."
" Though...being but a slight child myself, I'm....not having the best of luck at that task currently......can you make anything hag stabby? Or perhaps armour of some type?", she said suddenly.
Titaani is too exited by her new gloves to notice that Ben and Matilda are still asking the man questions. She shows newly gold clad hands off to Tiny with great enthusiasm.
"These are amazing, thankyou!" She squeals, turning back to Nib. "You should totally come back to the forest with me and work for my moms, they specialise in selling shiny things."

>>Accepting the gift, Ben says softly, “Are you sure you are cursed forever, or will you eventually pay your penance and be freed? Is there anything we can do to repay your kindness?”
Nib responds, "I suppose I shall run out of gold one day, and then maybe then I’ll find peace. For now, take my gifts and enjoy them. And don’t exploit those in need. But don’t take any of my gold, lest you be cursed like me. As long as Granny Nightshade remains in control of Thither, I see no hope of escape.”
>>Matilda narrows her eyes at the apparitions, " You have company in your torment?"
He responds, “I am haunted by my own words: as long as my ill-gotten gains were put to good use, my bad deeds would remain behind me. You are beholding the restless apparitions of those I hurt. They lurk behind my back, tormenting me with pokes at my ribs and whisperings in my ear. I can’t bear to look them in the eye, not after what I did to them!”
As he speaks, a long-faced woman appears behind him. She dabs at her tears with a handkerchief and then vanished. A rail-thin waif wearing an eye patch takes her place, before he, too, vanishes.
>>"My name is Matilda, and I am here to make a hag give back my brother."
He sighs and nods. “Many children toil away in Granny Nightshade’s workshop, crafting toys. Granny Nightshade delivers the creepiest toys to children on other worlds—to fill their heads with nightmares, one assumes. The hag makes her deliveries on the back of a flying rocking horse.”
>>"Can you make anything hag stabby? Or perhaps armour of some type?", Matilta says suddenly.
“Hag…stabby?” The blindfolded man thinks for a minute, and then begins knitting his gold yarn. After a few moments he produces a set of armor made from shimmering golden scales. It includes a coat, leggings, and gauntlets. He holds it all out in turn. “You sound like you might need this.”
>>Titaani adds, "You should totally come back to the forest with me and work for my moms, they specialise in selling shiny things."
He responds, “Thank you, my dear. I do hope to leave the Feywild one day and return home. I will visit you and your mom.”
“...In the meantime, is there anyone else here who needs a gift? I can knit exactly one for each of you.”
"I'm confused by what you say. Granny Nightshade sews nightmares in children, but cares one whit for your crimes? You said any who take your gold share your curse, doesn't accepting your gifts count as taking your gold?" Horatio's trust is low...
He responds to Horatio: "I made the dreadful mistake of confessing my sins to Granny Nightshade, and worse, of asking for her help and making a bargain with her, a pact." He shakes his head sadly."These gifts are free for me to give; indeed, it is my obligation. But anyone who steals this gold will be haunted by apparitions day and night until they succumb of exhaustion."
"The old hag lives far away, fortunately, in Loomlurch – it's an enormous, hollowed-out tree that houses the hag’s workshop. I was there just the once. She has a key protruding from her back that indicates her mood by how fast it turns, you see. When she’s happy, the key turns quickly. When she’s upset, the key turns slowly. If she loses her temper, the key stops completely. It's quite a sight."
"Who is speaking to me? Another visitor? May I knit you a gift as well?"
(Titaani will take a long rest, but before she does, she will cast the spell find familiar as a ritual. I was hoping that Tiny can remain her familiar for her pact of the chain features, if that's ok. Can she cast this spell to give him the abilities of a familiar, and make it mechanically official? Let me know if that's alright by you, @cbear8.)
Titaani smiles, crossing her legs on the floor, a little ways off from everyone else. She calls Tiny over, who she pushes into a sitting position in front of her. "Hey, guys, can you please make sure not to disturb me while I cast this, this is a really important spell and it's going to be hard for me to do with my lack of concentration," she calls back to the party. "It'll totally be worth it in the end, though. This is what Titania wants me to do, I can feel it!"
With that, the gnome takes her crystal off her neck as her eyes glow that familiar purple. Raising the crystal, she draws arcane symbols in the air above Tiny, and then draws one large arcane symbol underneath him. Chanting in gnomish, she sits down, and Tiny's eyes slowly turn to the same glowing purple of her own before the spell fades. As the the arcane symbols disappear, Titaani collapses, exhausted, but Tiny's eyes remain aglow.

Horatio looks skeptical, but then recalls that Clapperclaw brought them here to find help. He sighs, then says, "I... thank you for offering. I do need equipment, but do you need anything? Is there no other way to break your curse?"
