"I can be a distraction if we need one," says Ben, "And I have a little healing remaining if someone falls and gets hurt. Do we have anything that can be used as a rope to help everyone down with less risk of falling? I can hold the end of the rope and come down last, healing any who have fallen enough to get them on their feet."
" If you or Horatio can get down you can catch the kids and us, we don't weigh much."
"Maybe Matilda and I should stay here and look for the unicorn, and Horatio and Ben take the children somewhere safe," Titaani suggests. "No offense, but we're probably a little bit stealthier than you two."

(Anyone have a rope?) "We could tie some blankets together," offers Brottor, now fully recovered from his ailment. "Mishka escaped that way once. ...Of course, they caught her, but..."
The two boys shrug in response to the unicorn question. "Granny's got a flying rocking horse," offers Pud, meekly. "But it ain't got a horn."
"Haven't seen any unicorns," adds Brottor. "Granny usually keeps her most hated enemies in that cell in the kitchen floor. But I think she got some dwarf there now."

Ben:
”Right,” says Ben, “I will climb down first and be ready to catch any kids if they fall. Then Horatio and I can guard them as we get them away from here and to a place of safety.”
”Titaani, as much as I hate to split up, it is very important for us to both protect the kids and search for other prisoners, and I am certainly not very stealthy. If you and Matilda want to stay and use your screen of moths to mask your movements, I won’t stop you,” he adds, pulling out a silver piece from his pouch. Casting Light on it, he says, “This may help lure the moths where you want them.”
Once the makeshift rope is ready, Ben will head out the window and try to set a good path using the knotted sheet for the way down.

"Any chance we have of surviving this if we are caught will come down to how many of us are together at that time. Our numbers are our only strength here - why do you all keep trying to split us up?" Horatio's tone isn't harsh, just alarmed, though he doesn't speak too loudly.
" Titaani. We are leaving. If we stay we'll definitely be caught by the Hag or one of her servants....we've been very lucky so far. But she has my image now."
Titaani sighs, contemplating the glowing coin in her hand. "I also don't want to split up, it's just...I don't want to disappoint the unicorn we met. She trusted us..."

Ben climbs out the small window into the tangle of dead branches beyond, holding the end of the knotted sheets. He's not sure whether to trust Matilda's big, sloppy knots or the fragile dead branches. So he instinctually does a little of both.
(Ben: make a DC8 Dex save to climb down; if you fail, the sheets will afford you a second, DC15 Dex save opportunity.)
Who else is climbing down after Ben? Folks of Small size (including the children) will automatically succeed. Medium-sized folks will have to make the save as above.

Crack! Snap. Whack! Thud.
The branch Ben steps on breaks, then the knot in his rope sheet gives way. He takes out a big branch on the way down before crashing into the top of the massive log. He takes 5 bludgeoning damage.
Picking himself up with a groan, Ben looks accusingly at the sheet still clutched in his hand. Shrugging, he ties it off about waist level against the tree and holds two other corners with his arms spread wide, effectively making a “net” for any who might fall. Looking up, he nods for the next person to come down.

Brottor looks down again, then pulls his head back. "You go first!" he chides Pud.
Pud shakes his head, refusing.
(It's now once again a DC8 Dex save to climb down, or take 2d6 bludgeoning damage, regardless of size.)
"C'mon kids, it's not that hard," Titaani reassures the children. "Just watch me."
Glancing around the room one last time with an air of disappointment, she pockets the rock Ben gave her and climbs down.

Another branch breaks. Titaani plummets through the maze of dead branches toward the massive log below.
Ben: Make a DC10 DEX Save to catch her, or she takes 6 bludgeoning damage in the fall.
