Pud confirms that he would like some sort of shield. Again, it doesn’t have to be special. Even a wooden shield or small buckler would suffice. He’ll infuse it later on.

Ben:
Having given Elkhorn back his shield and sword, Ben has a rusty shield and spear plus one of the small sharp sickles right now. He would like to have his shield fixed up, get a Longsword, and some heavy armor (probably chain).
Ben tries to repay their hosts’ kindness by tackling some larger stone masonry projects the little ones may have struggled with—perhaps freeing up more of them to help with the smithing.

Titaani turns to Horatio. "I should be ok - I don't need anything."
Turning back to Molliver, Titaani peers curiously over the bridge. "So, about these wishstones - do they have any magical abilities? Or are they for decoration only?"

As the party makes preparations for making equipment, Pud takes some time to himself to ponder his situation. He sits at the edge of the cavern with his feet dangling over the edge.
He thinks to himself "Why are you asking for favors from Ben and Horatio? You know you could make stuff without their help. You made Rizzo. Boomershank. These cool boots, too. You gotta believe in yourself."
He calls Rizzo and smiles as she flutters around and does barrel rolls around him. He pulls out his magical dagger, flings it into the canyon and magically snaps it back to his hand. He gets up, dusts himself off and walks over to the guys.
"Hey, Ben and Horatio! I...I uh...I don't a shield. I mean, I don't need you guys to make me one. I can make one on my own. I can still help you guys though. I'm pretty okay at making stuff. I just think I gotta grow up a little and take care of myself. Thanks, though."

What should have taken weeks takes but two days. The brigganocks have a unique arcane ability that is well-suited for this moment. [Time Lapse (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). The brigganock accelerates the passage of time around itself, enabling it to accomplish up to 1 hour of work in a matter of seconds.]
You discover that the strange little mouse-sized creatures are as smart as any human, speak a fair bit of Common (even as most rely on Molliver to speak on their behalf), and while they are no armor or weapons experts, they are quite adept at using metalworking tools. Under Horatio's guidance, they make a sobering amount of work into a whirlwind of product.
With the help of Pud, Matilda, and the brigganocks, Horatio is able to craft just about everything he wanted:
• Two sets of chainmail • One large metal shield • One long sword • Three javelins
The brigganocks seem to eat little but mushrooms and drink something that tastes like sour coffee, so you will be grateful to not spend many more days here. Molliver slips you a little jerky and berries from her own stash.
Ben's kind offer of expert stonework is somewhat underappreciated, as the brigganocks appear to be able to carve stone in the blink of an eye. Nevertheless he keeps them entertained – they find his tedious chipping and chiseling and smoothing extremely humorous.
At Titaani's questions, Molliver whispers something to a cheerful brigganock named Ajak, who disappears and soon arrives with a wheelbarrow containing two wish stones. They look like round lumps of crystal that have not yet been shaped or cut. Ajak hands them to Ben and Matilda (who made wishes way back in posts #42 and #45 upon being handed a dandelion by a squirrel. Matilda - do you recall if your wish was good-natured or evil-natured?)
Gleam, who has spent too much time at Motherhorn already, offers another tidbit of information: Hurly, a bugbear, made a bargain with Endelyn ("Creeping Lyn’") and is quite unhappy with how things played out. Now he is forced to perform in her morbid theater. Like Gleam, Hurly used to work for Mister Witch and Mister Light, though Gleam and her sibling had already left the carnival by the time Hurly and his brother Burly arrived. Gleam knows that Hurly is eager to see his brother again, and she’d like to help him if she can.
Eventually, Obud admits with some discomfort that there is a secret tunnel to Motherhorn right here in his grotto. He says, “Ah, yes. Creeping Lyn’s Theater of Terror. A dreadful place indeed. She is unaware of the tunnel’s existence. Let’s keep it that way, aye?”
OOC: Pud rolled big for his 2 alchemical elixirs. Rolled up a 1 which was a health elixir and a 3 for an elixir of resilience which offers a boost in AC. Huzzah!
Rolls are in game log.

Having donned the new armor, shield, and longsword, Ben finally looks like the noble warrior he aspires to be. "Oki doki, but don't trust me with any list, I'll forget it within seconds," Titaani replies to Ben, hopping down from where she had perched on a stalagmite. "Hey, we should do our best to be stealthy. Though, that's not gonna be easy with you in that new armour, is it?"
Rubbing her chin thoughtfully, Titaani snaps her fingers. "Aha! I know! I'll turn you invisible when we get closer. How does that sound?"

As Matilda watches the tiny fey flit about she seems to flicker slightly herself at times, disturbed by the strange sensation she moves over to sit next to Titanni and falls asleep leaning somewhat precariously on her smaller sister.
Upon waking she gives the two old fellows a round of appluase at their new outfits.
Pud hobbles over to the group with a smile on his face.
“Wow! Look at you with your fancy armor! You guys are pretty good!
Have a look at this!”
He swings around a small metal buckler style shield with an odd face engraved on it sporting a huge grin. And before your eyes the metal face’s grin grows, it’s eyes get wider and the metal face appears to stick its tongue out at you!
”Invisibility sounds good, Titaani, but inaudibility would be even better, at least just on the armor. I’ll hang back and let our stealthy ones scout, at least until we have cleared the secret tunnel,” offers Ben.

Both Ben's and Matilda's wishstone glow with golden light (bright light out to a range of 20 feet and dim light for an additional 20 feet). The Brigganocks will let you keep your stones as mementos or leave the stones with them to be cut into sparkling gemstones—a process that takes 8 hours with the help of the brigganocks’ Time Lapse action. (You can return to the mine to collect your gems after attending to other matters, if you choose.)
Obud explains that a permanent illusion of a rock wall conceals an 8-foot-high, 3-foot-wide tunnel in the back wall of Obud’s grotto. This secret tunnel evidently leads to a storage room beneath Motherhorn’s stage. The illusory wall has no substance, which means that you can pass right through it. "You can return to the grotto through the tunnel whenever you want," adds Obud, "Just don't bring Creeping Lyn with you."
Impressed by the magic of the stone, Ben says, “It is beautiful in this state, yes, but you say it can be cut and shaped into a faceted gem? This I would like to see!” as he hands his wishing gem back to the Brigganocks.

"And while you're at it, could you make me a chain out of the leftover metal?" Titaani whispers to the Brigganock that Ben hands the gem back to. "I'd love to come back later and attach Ben's gem to a chain for him to wear."

Matilda accepts the uncut, glowing stone; Ben returns his for cutting. Ajak nods and whispers back to Titaani in Common, "Do you have any sweets? Or cheese?"
You prepare to depart. Gleam, Elkhorn, Amidor, Pollenella, and Squirt will accompany you. Molliver will remain with the brigganocks (even as Elkhorn tries to convince her to join them.)
Unless you change your order, Titaani and Matilda will lead, followed by Pud. Horatio and Ben will take the rear.
And unless you have further business with Obud, Molliver, or the brigganocks, you pass through the illusionary wall and into the secret tunnel...
